CHAPTER 28: THE TRUTH IS OUT

VENUS:

As I walked back down the hallway, after obtaining permission from Maxine to go on a walk with Mira, Olivia stood in my way, with her hands on her waist.

Was she looking for a fight?

She stepped into my path like some self-appointed guardian of authority. Her chin was lifted high, and she wore that irritating smirk on her lips.

"Where do you think you're going?" she asked, voice sharp as a whip.

I didn’t flinch. "Out. To get some air. With Mira."

She scoffed. "Not until you acknowledge me properly. Call me Luna."

I narrowed my eyes. "You’re not the Luna. You don’t deserve that title."

“Yes I do. The fact that I'm not crowned yet doesn't mean I'm not the future Luna,” she responded proudly.

I put my hands on my waist and looked her square in the eyes. “If you have even the slightest future here, then I wouldn't be here.”

CHAPTER 145: FINDING VENUS MAXIM :I couldn’t shake it off. That damn voice from the phone. She thought she was smart disguising it, but I’d know it anywhere. My gut told me that voice belonged to Venus. Even my wolf confirmed it. And I wasn’t about to ignore it.“Conrad,” I muttered, pacing my study as my warriors celebrated our victory over Draven. “We’re tracking that number tonight.”Conrad stepped fully into the study, arms folded. “Are you sure that voice belongs to Venus, Alpha? You know burner phones are tough. Whoever called you might’ve used one of those.”I snapped my head toward him, growling low. “Don’t give me excuses. I want results. That was her voice. She’s hiding from me. And I don’t care how far she runs, I’ll find her.”Conrad sighed, rubbing his temples. “Alright, Alpha. Here’s how it works. Every phone, whether burner or not, leaves a trace. Cell towers log calls—the time, the signal strength, the angle the signal bounced from. If we cross-match it, we can trian

CHAPTER 143: I THINK YOU'RE PREGNANT VENUS :I woke up this morning and wondered what was wrong with me. My whole body felt heavy, like I’d been dragged under water. My head spun, my stomach turned, and my arms and legs felt weak as hell.I sat up on the bed slowly, pressing a hand to my forehead. “Damn… what the hell is wrong with me?” I muttered. The room tilted a little when I tried to stand. I sat back down immediately, holding the edge of the mattress like my life depended on it. My mouth felt dry, and the smell of leftover perfume and smoke from the club uniforms we’d hung up was already making me gag. That was when Kendra pushed my door open. “Hey, girl, let’s go. We gotta clean the club before it opens. It's our turn to clean up the club today.”She stopped in her tracks when she saw me sitting there pale and sweaty. Her eyebrows shot up. “Girl, what’s wrong with you? You don't look okay.”I shook my head weakly. “I don’t know. I feel… dizzy. Weak. And my stomach…”Before I c

CHAPTER 142: SURPRISING DRAVEN MAXIM:I was sitting in my study with Conrad, both of us busy, trying to figure out the face of the man in the video with Olivia, when the damn phone started ringing. It was Venus’ phone. The one we had recovered from the rogue.I froze. That phone had been stolen from her, and no one was supposed to call the number but me. I glanced at the glowing screen, my jaw tight. Who the hell would be calling at this hour?Conrad looked up from the maps. “Alpha? The phone is ringing. Why don't you pick up?”I shook my head slowly. “I’m just... The number's not saved.”For a second, I thought about ignoring it. But my gut told me to pick up. I hit the answer and put it to my ear.“Hello? Who's this?”Silence. Nothing but breathing on the other end. My frown deepened.“Who the hell is this?” I snapped.Still no answer. Then the line went dead.I dropped the phone on the desk with a heavy thud and leaned back in my chair, eyes narrowing at Conrad. “Somebody’s play

My heart was already beating fast, but when I heard that deep voice snap, “What are you waiting for? I spent almost all the money the kind stranger gave me, buying all the essential things I needed. When Kendra pushed the last shopping bag into my arms, I swear my chest swelled so big I thought it’d burst. For the first time since I left Bloodclaw pack, I’d actually bought things for myself. I bought a few clothes so I won't be wearing one cloth every day. And that one has even begun to tear in the armpit. The new clothes I bought today included, soft sweaters, a silky blouse, and even jeans that made my legs look longer than I thought they were.“You’re smiling like you just won the lottery,” Kendra teased, bumping my shoulder as we walked back to the club.“I feel… good,” I admitted, glancing at the bags again. “Like maybe I actually belong here, y’know?”“Girl, you belong wherever the hell you decide to,” she said. “And I t
