LOGINVenus Carter has never known love, only cruelty. Orphaned and left in the hands of her merciless uncle, she endures years of torment, treated worse than a slave. But when her uncle sells her to the ruthless Alpha Maxine Blackwood, she realizes she has lost even the little freedom she once had. Her purpose? To bear him an heir. But Venus refuses to be just a vessel. She secretly takes contraceptives, defying the powerful Alpha’s will. When her deception is discovered, Maxine’s fury knows no bounds, and her punishment is worse than anything she has ever endured. Just when she believes she can’t take any more, fate twists in an unexpected way—Maxine is poisoned with wolfsbane, a slow and excruciating death for a werewolf. Only Venus holds the cure. With the Alpha’s life in her hands, she finds herself with the rarest thing of all—power over the monster who ruined her life. But with that power comes a choice: save him and risk losing her chance at freedom or let him perish and be rid of him forever. And if she saves him, will she uncover the man beneath the beast?

VENUS: “Venus! Venus! Where’s that little piece of trash?” I heard Cynthia yelling my name upstairs and my heart skipped multiple beats. Whenever she calls me in that manner, there's trouble for me. “I'm here,” I answered weakly, scrubbing harder on the marble floor. My knees hurt from kneeling all day and my stomach wouldn't stop growling. This has been my life since I was ten years old. Cynthia matched furiously down the stairs with a couple of her friends. I tightened my grip on the brush, knowing what they're capable of. “Why haven't you cleaned my room yet?” She glared at me furiously and I kept my gaze down. I didn't want to offend her in any way because doing that would earn me several strokes of cane from my uncle. "You lazy rat, how long does it take to mop the floors of this mansion? You're worthless and I'm tired of seeing your ugly face," Cynthia was my uncle's daughter and she liked to call herself the princess of the family who would one day marry a noble Prince. I didn't utter a word but kept scrubbing. She grabbed my hand and twisted it so hard I almost screamed. “I'm talking to you, little rat. How dare you ignore me?” “I. I've cleaned your room already, Cynthia.” “Liar!” she screamed. “Go upstairs now and have my room properly cleaned.” I bit on my lower lip and headed to Cynthia’s room with my cleaning tools. This was the third time today. As I walked past her, she dragged my hair so hard I lost balance and spilled some water on the floor. “Pathetic!” she hissed and they all laughed at me. I cleaned up the water and continued moving. She always made me clean her room several times a day so that my uncle could whip me severely for not finishing my work on time. I started scrubbing the floors of her room again and just when I was almost done, she barged in with her friends. I kept my head down and continued scrubbing. Maybe if I ignored them, they would leave me alone. No such luck. One of her friends dipped her polished shoe directly into the soapy water and smeared dirt over my work. My heart sank. "Oh dear," Cynthia sighed dramatically, nudging my bucket with the tip of her shoe until the water sloshed onto my lap. "You missed a spot." Her friends laughed. I clenched my jaw and willed myself to stay silent. But after years of this torment, something inside me snapped. "You did that on purpose." They all stopped laughing. Cynthia’s eyes darkened as she crouched beside me. "What did you just say?" I swallowed hard. "I said…" She slapped me hard on my cheeks before I could finish my sentence. My head flew to the wall nearby and I felt a sharp pain spread across my skull. But I wasn't prepared for what happened next. Cynthia gasped loudly and staggered back, clutching her cheek as if she were the one who had been hit. "How dare you!" she wailed. "You hit me!" "What?" I was rendered speechless. "I didn’t even.." I could hear heavy footsteps down the hall. My stomach dropped. Uncle Raymond was ruthless when it came to whipping me and he believes whatever Cynthia tells him. "Venus!" I turned just in time to see my uncle storming toward me, his face twisted in rage. His wife, Margaret was right beside him. Cynthia sniffled, and tears gathered in her blue eyes as she played the victim flawlessly. "She slapped me, Dad," Cynthia whimpered, hiding her smirk behind her trembling hands. "No, I didn't!" I cried, as I moved backward, bracing myself for what would come next. "She.." I felt another pain across my face as Aunt Margaret’s palm struck me. I staggered back, my vision blurring from the force of it. "How dare you raise your filthy hand against my daughter!" she seethed, her grip tightening on my arm until It felt as if my bone was about to crush. . "I swear, I didn’t touch her!" My voice cracked as I looked at her for mercy but my nightmare was just about to begin. "She’s lying!" “Step aside, Margaret, let me handle this.” When I heard my uncle's voice, my knees buckled. "Did you just say my daughter lied?” His voice was full of venom. I shook my head as I moved backward. “Cynthia would never lie.” Margaret maintained. “You, on the other hand, are nothing but a burden!" Cynthia and her friends snickered behind her. My uncle always had a whip ready. When he raised his hand and the whip connected with my skin, I gasped and trembled in pain. The whip kept coming and I scurried to one corner of the room, whimpering and trembling. This has gone on for years but the pains never felt any better. Uncle Raymond continued to lash at me until my entire body was covered in fresh wounds. Blood sipped through my fragile skin and I could do nothing but sob. "Since you have the strength to fight, you must not be working hard enough," uncle Raymond continued coldly. "No dinner for you tonight. And if I hear one more complaint, I’ll make sure you regret it." My heart was grieved. I haven't eaten in three days. "Please," I whispered, hating how weak my voice sounded. "I haven't eaten—" "Then maybe you'll learn to be grateful for what little you get," he snapped. "Finish your work. Now." With that, my uncle and aunt turned on their heels and strode away. Cynthia and her friends followed with a victorious smirk. I remained frozen, my cheek throbbing, my body aching and my stomach twisting painfully. I cleaned my tears quickly because I had learned long ago that tears only made things worse. As I picked up the brush, knelt back down, and started to scrub, I felt a violent twist in my stomach and before I could make sense of what was happening, the floor before me was filled with a substance that looked like acid.CHAPTER 179: A NEW DAWNVENUS:Today was the seventh day after the twins were born. And today, they're going to be named. The night was alive with silver light. The moon hung full and perfect, glowing brighter than I’d ever seen it before. Its reflection shimmered on the marble floor of the courtyard, where the great naming ceremony was about to begin. I could feel the energy in the air—magic, power, and something older than time itself. It was the seventh day after I brought the twins into this world. Seven days of sleepless nights, endless joy, and quiet awe every time I looked at their faces. Tonight, our children would be named before the entire werewolf kingdom, and before the Moon Goddess herself.I stood at the balcony that overlooked the palace courtyard. From up here, I could see everything—the golden lanterns floating in the air, the torches flickering around the grand fountain, the nobles and Alphas and Betas filling the space with soft chatter and excitement. The music f
CHAPTER 178: EPILOGUE: THE KINGDOM OF PEACEMAXIM:If someone had told me a year ago that I would sit on the throne of the Alpha King and decide the fates of my kind, I would’ve laughed in their face. But standing here now, looking over the balcony of the royal palace as the morning sun spilled gold over the mountains, I could finally smile and say I've come a long way.Within the few months I've ruled, I made sure peace is restored in every pack. And the Alphas made peace with one another. Now united, we were able to prevent rogue attacks and border disputes between packs.Venus’ gift was fully activated by the priestess and there was no sickness she couldn't heal. The air didn’t carry the smell of blood or betrayal anymore. Just the scent of fresh rain, blooming flowers, and life. Our people were thriving again. Packs that used to fight over territory now traded goods. Alphas who once hated my name now bowed in respect. And for once… I felt like I’d done something right.Venus stepp
CHAPTER 177: THE END OF OLIVIAMAXIM:As we headed towards Dr Larry’s hospital, Crystal suddenly changed her mind and said she wanted to go home. So I dropped Crystal off at home before I headed back to Dr. Larry:s hospital. By the time I got there, it was already getting dark. The air outside was cold and quiet and most of the hospital lights were on, shining brighter than stars in the night sky.I walked straight to Larry’s office, still wearing the same shirt I had on all day. I hadn’t even bothered to change. And neither did I eat.Larry looked up from some papers when I walked in. “Alpha Maxim,” he said softly, “thank you for coming.”“Where do I sign?” I asked, my voice flat.He slid the consent form across the table. “Right here. It’s a risky operation, but without it—”“I know,” I cut him off. I picked up the pen, signed the papers, and handed them back. “Do what you need to do.”He nodded slowly. “We’ll start the surgery at midnight. You can wait if you want, but it might tak
CHAPTER 176: FIFTY-FIFTY CHANCEMAXIM:He blinked. “Home? Alpha, that’s not advisable right now. She’s only just regained consciousness. Her body needs time.”“I’ll have a nurse come to the palace every day. Whatever she needs, we can manage there.”He shook his head. “It’s not that simple. She’s carrying twins, and we need to monitor her and the babies closely for at least a few more days. Taking her home now could put her and the babies at risk.”I exhaled sharply. “How many days are we talking?”“Three or four, minimum,” he replied. “After that, if everything stays stable, she can go home.”I didn’t like it. I hated hospitals. The smell, the cold walls, the way it made me feel helpless. But Crystal placed her hand on my arm again.“Max,” she said calmly. “Let her stay. The last thing you want is a complication. A few days won’t hurt.”I sighed. “Fine. But I’m bringing her home after that.”The doctor nodded. “Understood.”We stayed with Venus most of the day, talking softly, laughi
CHAPTER 175: GOD, I THOUGHT I LOST YOU MAXIM:I hardly slept through the night and the next morning, I was already wide awake before the sun came up. My mind was on Venus. I couldn’t stop thinking about her lying in that hospital bed, pale and still. The thought alone tore at my chest.Crystal knocked softly on my door.“Maxim, are you up?” Crystal asked, her voice soft. “I've been waiting for you downstairs so we could go and see Venus.”“Yeah,” I said, buttoning my shirt. “Let’s go. I want to see her.”We left the palace without breakfast. The drive to the hospital felt longer than usual. Every red light, every slow car made me tap the steering wheel harder. Crystal kept glancing at me.“You’ve been tense since yesterday,” she said.“Wouldn’t you be? Venus almost died.”“I know, Max. But thank the moon goddess she’s still breathing.”When we pulled up at the hospital, I didn’t even wait for the valet. I just parked and got out. Crystal followed close behind me.As soon as I walked
