XANDER’S P.O.V
“Hey babe, I just finished work and I’m going to dinner with one of my business associates. How far are you from the cabin?” I asked, calling Cara to check up on her. “Hi my love, I’m half way there. Don’t go home from dinner too late, it’s getting cold at night now and I don’t want you getting sick” Cara said. “Half way there? Babe, you left early this morning and the cabin is only 5 hours away. CARA’S P.O.V “Ms. Stone, where were you between 11 am to 4 pm on Saturday?” asked the inspector as he interrogated me. I was not nervous at all, even though this was the first time that I was in such a situation, I guess that I wasn’t nervous because I was not the only one who was here to be interrogated today. Everyone who worked and lived at the La’Vardo estate or even just had contact with Emma was here to be interrogated, including Xander even though he is the one who wanted it this way. XANDER’S P.O.V I sat in front of my fireplace, lost in the blazing fire that burnt brightly in front of me. ‘I should have protected her. What would my family think of me now? First I broke my relationships with them and the only person that stood by my side through it all is now dead’. I buried my face in my hands as I let out a deep long sigh of regret and pain. ‘It should have been me instead of Emma, Emma was filled with so much light and all I am filled with is darkness. The world doesn’t need me, however, the world definitely needs more good people like Emma. Why did this have to happen? Why does this keep on happening to me? It’s like I am cursed or something to never be happy for a long period of time. I couldn’t save Emma’ ‘Neither could I defend Cara today. I just stood and watch her being dragged away by the police. I feel useless, most probably because I am. I couldn’t save my marriage, I couldn’t save my sister and I couldn’t even save my Cara!!! W
