“Are you sure you’re going back?”

Edward sunk on the bed where he sat, intently observing Eve’s expression. And all he could see was anger and determination. He knew what she hated the most was being dictated on what to do and being forced to do something she doesn’t like.

And it’s what he admired about her. In fact, he also envied her for it. Since not everyone was brave enough to fight for what she wanted.

As she was busy packing the essential things she needed, Eve didn’t even give him a glance. Still, she answered him.

“I must. I must go back. Theo is there. Without him, I couldn’t stay here anymore.”

“But you might see him if you go back.”

His words halted Eve. With her eyes squinting, she lifted her head to him. “Him?”
