“No one died when the facility was burnt to the ground.” He said as he turned around and walked toward the door. “I already asked Roman to gather information on the workers there, and if Constantine laid them off, offer them a job somewhere.”

“You did that?” I felt a rush of air fill my lungs.

“I can be many things, but I don’t lie. Especially not to you.” He stopped and turned around to meet my gaze. “And I expect the same thing, Iris.”

I nodded. “I understand, Alpha.”

“Draco. Just Draco. After tonight, you will be officially raised to my rank, and everyone will address you as Luna Iris. I don’t want anyone hearing you address me as Alpha, not even in our home.”

Our home. That sounded so good.

I nodded again in response.

“If you need anything or are looking for something, you will go to me. Not to the maids, not to my Beta and Gamma. Not to

IRIS. Our eyes met, and my heart began to thunder. I didn’t even notice how Lima exited because the whole room vanished, and all I saw was him—in his perfectly tailored black suit with a dark emerald tie, the same shade as my dress. He was so beautiful with neatly combed hair and a shaved face, with just enough stubble that tickled me whenever he kissed me. “Are you ready?” he asked exactly at the sound of the main door closing. He remained standing by the door that separates the main bedroom from the receiving room of this suite. If he liked how I looked, he never showed it, and it made me want to sink into my spot. “Alpha, can we talk first?” I asked in a voice just enough for him to hear.He looked at his watch before meeting my gaze again. “We don’t have time.”“I’ll talk fast. I just need you to give me three minutes of your busy time…” I used his words. He was always busy but would always give me three minutes, which I was sure we always exceeded every time we had a conve

IRIS. The Alpha didn’t come home and was also nowhere to be found in the packhouse on Sunday morning. I was already beginning to worry, and to add to that, our engagement party was tomorrow night. My dress had already been delivered, but I wasn’t even sure if he had his clothes prepared. Or worse, if the party would still happen.Last night, I barely slept because I had a bad dream—he canceled the engagement during the event itself and threw me out of his territory. I then found myself in a dense forest, face-to-face with Constantine. I woke up crying and trembling. I knew it was my fault that I didn’t ask him about it. I really assumed he didn’t want a kid. But I knew for myself that if he wanted one, and he promised not to abandon them, I would give him as many as he wanted. I had already lost his trust, and I remembered him telling me he never gave second chances to anyone. I was sure I would not be an exception. But I wasn’t going out without a fight or explaining myself. So w

IRIS.“Are you trying not to get pregnant by the Alpha? Why don’t you ask him to buy you contraceptives instead?” Janice asked before she added. “Taking too much of this can make you barren, Miss Iris.” I was about to tell her that I hadn’t asked the Alpha if he wanted a baby, so I wanted to be careful, but even before I could open my mouth, Alpha Draco’s loud voice rang in the air, making my heart drop to the floor.“Iris, in my office, now.”Did he hear our conversation?I swiftly turned around, but even before I could catch his gaze, he had already turned his back to us and walked out of the kitchen. “I’ll be back,” I told Janice as I swallowed hard. I didn’t even look back at her so she wouldn’t see the guilt in my eyes. “Alpha…” I stood before him in the middle of his office. He was already in his chair, looking at me with a face devoid of any emotion. “How was your sleep?”“Great.” I sensed annoyance in his tone. “Tell me, what do you need the sage roots for?” He went straight

DRACO.When our dinner was over, we went to the bar to have a drink. As the night progressed, Iris got easily drunk. She was already giggling from all that she consumed, and there wasn’t even much. It was not the loud, boisterous giggling, but the soft one that you wouldn’t hear or know until you saw her shoulders shaking. Unlike other women who become talkative when they’re drunk, she was getting too quiet and just kept mumbling when she talked. Before I knew it, she was already sitting on my lap while she told me stories I couldn’t even understand.Because aside from the fact that she was already mumbling, she had her lips on my shoulder, muffling more of the sound of her voice. But I just let her continue to talk and leaned her whole body on me while I waited for Liam to pick us up. All the while, I knew everyone’s attention inside the bar was on us.But I didn’t mind. The more they see me with Iris, the more they will forget about Felicity —how she left me and announced her engag

IRIS.“The ring…” He mumbled.“You couldn’t find it. So you never told her about it, and she didn’t know either. You just asked her to open her eyes, and you wanted to take her home with you, for good. She jumped into your arms happily before she called her mom and Dad. Everyone looked happy… The next day, before sunset, a man with blonde hair picked her up. Not you.”“My former Delta picked her up…” He said. “How did…”“Because I was there.” I cut him off. My tears fell this time, but not because I was trapped in that dark, dingy room, but because I remembered the pain of seeing him with her and the many kisses they shared. “I was underground, looking at the small gap between the brick walls…”His expression darkened, but he didn’t say anything.“I know where the ring dropped,” I added. “I checked it every day… but forgot about it when I ran away.”“It’s a family heirloom. It was my mother’s ring.” His jaw clenched before he continued. “Maybe it was an omen that it was never meant fo
