Mile’s POV

Last night was crazy. It felt as feel my soul was being pulled out of my body. Thanks to Grayham, I’m still alive. I wonder what would have happened if he hadn’t been in the room with me last night. I’m glad his Grandpa asked him to stay.

I opened my eyes and the first thing I did was tap my phone screen so I could check the time. It was almost 8 am. I turned to the other side of the bed. It was empty.

I stood up, walked to the bathroom but he wasn’t there. Then I noticed the clothes he wore last night on the sofa.

It appears he was gone.

I went back to the bathroom, had a warm bath, and got dressed. Then I traced my way out of the room. When I reached the dining room downstairs, I saw Grayham having breakfast with my Grandpa. While Grayham was fully dressed in his suit, my Grandpa was in his pajamas.

They heard my footsteps approaching and immediately turned to me.

“I was about to leave when your Grandpa insisted I have breakfast,” Grayham supplied.

Grayham’s POVThe last customer stepped out and then Shirley matched to the counter and took off her apron. She turned to me. “I’ll see you tomorrow afternoon,” then she darted her gaze back to Max. “Or should I say I’ll be seeing Max in the afternoon since I only see Miles at night,”I laughed and handed over a take-out I had obtained on my way home to her. “Good night, Shirley,”She received the package with a bright smile and left. I went to the door right after it opened for Shirley and flipped the ‘closed sign’Max slumped on one of the chairs. “Now that all the customers are gone, it’s time to have dinner with my best friend and maybe catch up,”I smiled and dropped the rest of the stuff on the table right in front of him I sat directly opposite Max and pulled out a can of soda from the bag.“Bravo! You’re doing well,”Max sighed and also grabbed a can of soda. “Well, it’s not easy but you did give me a purpose, and it looks like I’m starting to enjoy this work and especially th

Grayham’s POV“Okay. Go ahead and handle it,”Victor’s jaw almost dropped to the floor.I turned to him with open hands. “You want a chance to run the risk assessment for Mr. Park then so be it. You’ve got two days to report back to me by the way,”Victor's face showed a mixed reaction. First, he seemed excited, and then his eyelashes began to flicker in anxiety.I adjusted my tie and fell back on the chair. “You have nothing to worry about. I’m sure you have questions on whether or not your brother would approve of this but be assured that as the acting CEO, it’s in my position to make immediate decisions and that is what I’ve just done,”Victor sprang from the chair with a smile. For the first time in forever, I saw a real smile on his face. Not a sinister one nor an impish grin.“I’ll show you what I’ve got,” he replied and clenched his fists. This time, his fists weren’t clenched in anger but in determination.“Then get to work,” I said, and turned to Mr. Park right after Victor w

Grayham’s POVMy Granpa left the room and I immediately turned to Miles.“They say blood is thicker than water because why is your Granpa so drawn to you despite not knowing who you are,” Miles said.I sighed. I couldn’t agree less.“You can’t sleep in those clothes,”I began to take off my tie.“The closet is…Miles was still speaking when I rolled my eyes. “Seriously? This is my room. Are you forgetting?” I can’t believe he just tried to give me directions.“Fine,” he lifted his hand in surrender then he reached for his phone and turned away.I quickly got out of the suit, grabbed a towel, and left for the bathroom. Moments later, I stepped out with a towel tied around my waist. I noticed that Miles had his entire gaze fixed on me.“I’m too hot to handle huh?” I winked.Miles chuckled. “Please don’t be so full of yourself. That’s my body,”I lifted a finger. “You have a point,”I walked to the closet, pulled out a comfortable pair of shorts and tee T-shirt then I got dressed and joi

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    THE PANEL

Grayham’s POVWhen I got to the stage, all eyes were on me. I took my seat and crossed my legs. The moderator cleared his throat and settled into the chair facing us.“As you all know, our topic is Integrating social service into the business world,” then he turned to me. “I wasn’t informed that Mr. Wilson won’t be coming,”I smiled and turned in the direction of all the guests. “Mr. Wilson is a bit unwell so as acting CEO, he sent me here to speak on his behalf,” I turned to Victor who was standing at a corner of the room with an impish smile. “I understand that so many of you have a lot of doubts about my qualifications and level of experience but by the time I’m done with this panel discussion, I’m certain your opinions of me will change and maybe, you’ll see what Wilsons saw in me,”Victor clenched his jaw.“Okay then let’s get on with it,” the moderator began. “The first question goes to you, Mr. Grayham. How do we integrate social service into the business world without politici

She was clearing the tables and serving at the same time. Max was behind the counter and a bunch of customers were seated.Max cleared his throat loudly right after I descended from the staircase.“I’m attending an event,” I said.He swept his gaze all over me and then nodded repeatedly. “Of course. I just hope they don’t turn you into one of them before this whole project you’re running ends,”I smiled and stepped out of the café. I heard a car revving toward the building. I stood in front of the entrance. I think my ride is here.I’m feeling quite powerful tonight. I don’t know whether it’s because of the branded suit or the thought of having to be in the same room with people of my class. I’ve missed this life.I walked
