Mile’s POV

“And how long would this retreat last?” Grayham’s Granpa demanded as we swerved down the road home.

I crossed my legs. “Two days at most,” I said and cleared my throat loudly.

While the gala was ongoing, Nathan texted me that he was able to communicate with the folklore expert. The man was expecting Grayham and me at his residence by tomorrow or the day after.

Since he was based in Boston, Grayham and I would have to leave the city first thing tomorrow morning so we could meet up with him.

I needed an excuse to get away from home and coming up with one was easy. I just told Graham’s Granpa that I would be traveling for a business retreat in Boston, New York City.

“Best of luck!” He said and stifled a yawn with the back of his palm.

I turned to Lily and noticed that she was curled up in her seat, fast asleep. I think she had a good time today even though she mostly stayed behind me. I’m sure when I bring her out a few more times, she’ll get used to the spotlight. Just like I
