Miles POV

I had shut my eyes a dozen times and re-opened them last night, hoping to wake up from this nightmare but with each passing minute, I’m forced to accept fate, my new reality.

I don’t know how Graham is taking it but I’m completely losing it right here.

The discharge papers are ready. Just a while ago, two posh men dressed in black suits who claimed to be members of my security team had walked into the ward and informed me that it was time to go home.

Home for me had always been Kaden’s house and would continue to be but with the way things turned out, I don’t even know where to be.

“Having second thoughts?” He spoke, reminding me that he was also in the room.

I turned to him with a sneer.

Grayham was seated on the edge of his bed, throwing glares at me.

“Like I have any choice.” I fired back.

Both of us were getting discharged any moment from now and last night, we both agreed, although partially to go with the flow of the trajectory of things until we figured out a way to reverse this curse.

Grayham’s so-called security men had left a branded tuxedo on the bed for me. It was a customized Brioni. I was to change into it and then meet them outside the door.

“You better not ruin my suit,” Grayham said with his nostrils puffing hot air. “I’m sure you’ll meet Henry outside. He’s my assistant. Act natural. Go to the Penthouse.” He then pointed a finger at me. “You better not mess with my stuff.”

“And you better not ruin what’s left of my home.” I retorted, grabbed the suitcase, and dashed to the changing room without looking at him or perhaps, looking at myself.

By the time I stepped out of the changing room minutes later, Grayham was gone.

When I suggested that we both pretend to be each other until we figured out this shit, he spat on the floor and professed that it was over his dead body. I’m sure he must have wandered to town because my neighborhood was going to be inhabitable for him. I slid my left hand into my pocket and tried not to think of the worst scenario.

But then I can’t help it.

What if Grayham disrespects Dad or is hostile to the customers?

I sighed and moved toward the door. The sooner we figured out this whole thing, the less complicated our lives would be.

I grabbed the doorknob and pulled it.

Right outside the door was a polished young man about my age. He smiled and hurried toward me.

That must be Henry, I thought.

“Good to see you, boss. It’s been a month. My God, you look great!”

I flashed an insecure smile and extended my hand to shake him.

The man looked a bit startled while staring at my stretched-out hand. It then dawned on me that Grayham was such a pompous man who never shook hands with just anybody.

I’m not sure if I can keep up this charade for long.

“The limo is outside. We had to wheel it in because we don’t want those reporters flanking around with cameras and recorders.” Henry supplied.

“That’s right.” I managed to say.

The bodyguards appeared. They took the lead while I followed Henry down the lobby. We had just stepped out when it caught my attention.

A white limo was parked beside the hospital’s administrative unit.

Who would have imagined that Grayham took a liking to white cars? I think black fits his personality.

My pupils dilated as I kept staring at the car.

The chauffeur stepped out, flashed a knowing smile, and opened the door to the backseat. I was still taken aback by the scenery and for a moment, my jaw nearly dropped to the floor.

“If you may, sir,” Henry said and cocked his head toward the limo.

I hurried toward the car and sat. The chauffeur mounted the driver’s seat while Henry and the bodyguards got into another vehicle.

“Take me to my penthouse,” I stated.

“Of course.” The chauffeur said and started the car.

The ride to the penthouse was smooth. It felt as if I was cruising on thin air. Bloody rich people, I thought. No wonder they’d do anything to stay afloat.

About thirty minutes later, the car pulled up at the Penthouse. The gates to the properly spread open and the chauffeur wheeled the car inside. He drove straight to the front of the building and pulled the car to a halt.

Then he came out, hurried to my side, and pulled the door open. I heaved a sigh and stepped out.

Standing in front of me was a huge luxurious apartment painted in white. I looked up and caught the penthouse situated on the top floor of the building. I had a glimpse of the large house from my spot. This was no regular building. I even caught a glimpse at the rooftop pool.

I made my way up to the building and found myself on a balcony. I looked at the high ceiling and walked past the gourmet kitchen.

The further I stepped into the house, the more feeling of comfort and elegance shrouded me.

Then, I found myself in a large room that could pass as the master bedroom. I was standing in an expanse space, brought to life by the finest artifacts and interior décor.

The bed draped in spotless white sheets looked too good to be real. It seemed as if no one had ever slept on them but I know for a fact that rich people have like ten of such properties scattered across cities so Grayham probably came here once in a blue moon.

Frankly speaking, this was the life I’ve always wanted.

I crave this luxury and would do anything for my dad and me to have a taste of such comfort but right now, I feel out of place in as much as I was out of my own body.

I strolled to the pool and was greeted by a serene scene.

The silence was loud and it dawned on me that I was the only one in the house except for the chauffeur whom I guessed had parked the car and stepped out.

Would Henry and the bodyguards be dropping by?

Everything felt strange.

I walked back into the master bedroom and couldn’t bring myself to settle on the bed. In as much as the clothes I was wearing fitted my body, they weren’t mine and so was this life.

The telephone rang and I rushed to pick it up.

“Hello, boss. I guess you’re about to take a hot shower and ease off in the pool right now.” The caller said. It was Henry. I was getting used to his voice now.

“What do you want?” I demanded and immediately felt that the statement slipped out rudely.

“Just wanted to let you know that I’ll be dropping by the penthouse tomorrow morning. I’m sure you’re dying to figure out what the company has been up to in the past month.” Henry said.

I sighed.

“I’ll leave you to rest now. See you tomorrow.” He concluded and hung up.

I allowed the loneliness to envelop me as my mind wondered where Grayham was and what he was doing in my body.

Grayham’s POV“Seems like you too are quite acquainted,” my Grandfather said.Miles looked at me and reached for an apple. “He pisse me off but I have no choice,”“You’re the one who pisses me off with your lack of trust and commitment. You’re always looking for loopholes when we are working. It’s like you hardly see the good in people,” I retorted.“Well, it wouldn’t have been so if the people in question were good from the start,” Miles fired back.My grandfather cleared his throat loudly. I breathed a sigh and reached for a spoon. Looks like Miles and I got carried away. There was a bowl of pork sauce in front of me so I began to devour it.“Did I see you somewhere?” My Grandfather asked just when I finished swallowing. My eyes widened and I immediately shook my head. “I don’t think so, Sir.”He hummed.“Perhaps from the viral video,” I added. He smiled and grabbed his glass of wine. • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    THE SHOW MUST GO ON

Grayham’s POVI had just stepped out of the bathroom when my phone began to ring. I was certain it was Miles because who else would contact me with his new device?I grabbed the phone from the table and responded to the call.“There’s a problem,” Miles spat before I could mumble a hello.I sighed and wondered when our lives would be free from problems.“Your Grandfather wants you to join us for dinner tomorrow,”A moment of silence passed before the words sank in.“What?” I almost screamed.“He saw your speech and now, he’s a fan. He knows we’ve been working together so he thinks getting you to come to dinner won’t be a hard task for me,” Miles supplied.I palmed my forehead. All this wouldn’t have happened if one of the boys from the neighborhood hadn’t recorded my speech and shared it on his TikTok page. Now, the video has gone viral.“I can’t come. You know it,” I told Miles.“I don’t think you have any choice,” Miles fired back. “You know how stubborn your old man can be. He menti

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    VIRAL SPEECH

Grayham’s POVNothing pisses me off like unnecessary knocks on the café door when the closed sign is still glued to the door. I opened my eyes, rolled down the sheets, and got out of bed with a frustrated sigh.Even though Diane’s team was supposed to turn up today for their inspection, I wasn’t expecting them to show up during the early hours of the day.I slipped into my shoes and began to climb the staircase while muttering incoherent words. It was 6 am for God’s sake. The bangs on the door intensified when I got closer. It looks like I had undermined the intensity of the bang because when I reached the café, it felt as if a group of people were trying to pull down the door at the same time.I walked to the door and opened it.Well, I wasn’t wrong. A group of people was trying to pull the door down. There were about a dozen of them and each one held a club in his hand.My eyes roved around in shock, wondering why a group of violent protesters had suddenly stormed Kaden’s home. Then

Mile’s POVThe door to my office was left open so Henry simply walked in. I lifted my head and saw him marching toward my desk.“You’re here for the documents? I should be done signing them in a minute,” I said and continued scrolling through the tablet. It was an electronic document so all I had to do was look up Grayham’s signature that was saved on the device and append it.“I’m not here for the documents, sir,” Henry replied.“That’s right since it’s an electronic copy, I’ll just mail them to you then you forward them to the contractors. Don’t forget to attach our budget,” I replied without taking my eyes off the device.Henry cleared his throat loudly. I lifted my head and caught the cold expression on his face. He dropped a newspaper on the table. “Have you seen this?”I dropped the tablet and then reached for the newspaper. It was the business weekly, a publication I always had Henry deliver to me.When Henry comes to deliver the paper, he’s always cheerful because most of the
