Mile’s POV

The car swerved down the road as Sam drove toward the route leading to the company. It was a new day, another day to play businessman.

We reached the company lane and Sam was about to take a sharp turn when a man suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

“Watch it!” I cried out and immediately sat up.

Sam managed to pull the brakes and the man passed without sustaining a scratch but then, he wasn’t crossing the street like I assumed. He was making his way toward the car.

I pulled down the reflectors and wondered what kind of man would risk his life just to meet me.

A tall man with blonde hair suddenly appeared on my side.

“Hello!” He flashed a smile and took off his glasses.

“Hi.” I cleared my throat loudly and rolled my eyes around the strange man. “You almost got killed,” I said.

Was he here to thank me?

He smiled.

I turned to Sam. “Let’s go.”

“Can you spare a moment?” The man said. “I’d like to talk to you.”

I arched a brow and studied him more carefully. He practically looked h

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    THE OVEN

Mile’s POVI was in a trance and I don’t know how long until I managed to finally alight from the car. Right in front of me was my burnt house where people, where hundreds of people were loitering around. There was an ambulance parked beside the ruins and several firefighters were packing up. The fire was out and the ruins remained. My house was gone. The café was burned beyond recognition. Through the broken door, I noticed that the whole room had turned black.I slowly raised my hands and cupped my face with them. I fell to the ground on my knees and began to sob. At this point, I don’t care if anyone sees me as Grayham who should not have anything to do with the house.I can’t believe my house was gone. How did this even happen?People were too occupied to even pay attention to me. I turned to the corner and saw a group of men huddled in a corner. They were speaking in low tones.Shirley was crying uncontrollably and Jamal was trying to console her. I slowly got up and realized th

Grayham’s POV“So where do we begin?” Miles said and then pulled out a chair and sat on it.We both agreed to meet in the café tonight so we could intensify our search for the location of the oak tree. Once the café is completed and the place is launched, I’m sure the spirits will understand that I have no intention of tearing down the place any longer.I just want my body back and maybe it’s time to go to the oak tree and test our truth like Master Lin suggested.I pulled out the chair in front of Miles and sat. Then I pulled out the paper Master Lin had given me and rolled it on the table.Miles took a picture of the address and then went straight to the Google Maps app. “Let’s see where it takes us,” he said.He dropped the phone on the table and both of us fixated our gaze on the screen. The cursor picked a location and then dashed through several routes and access areas. It came to a halt and I grabbed the phone before Miles could.“It says here that the place is 3 kilometers awa

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    DINNER ON A WEEKEND

Mile’s POVWhile the décor guys were doing their thing, Grayham turned to me. “They should be done by tomorrow or the next day.”I smiled. “And the place will be ready for launch in the coming week,”He lifted a finger. “Exactly!”I turned around and looked at the café. It has been renovated beyond imagination and despite the significant touches Grayham gave it, he did make sure not to change the overall design. The concept of the building remains the same hence a blend of modern and classic look.I turned toward Grayham and realized that he had a bright expression on his face. Looks like he was more fascinated by the work than I was.I had tried to push the memory of last night to the back of my mind but one glance at him brings back every erotic thought.Last night, I almost lost my guard and if the lightning had not created a diversion, I don’t know what would have happened. Maybe it was my cue to stay away from the distraction.I’ve come to terms with the fact that I was attracted

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    A COMMON GROUND

Mile’s POVThe buzzing of the alarm clock wasn’t the sound that communicated that it was a new day. In fact, the alarm buzzer came off later. The ringing of my phone caused me to open my eyes ten minutes before my alarm struck. With my eyes shut, I reached for the ringing phone from the table next to me and responded without checking who the caller was.“Hello,” I mumbled lazily.“Grayham, I can see you’re still asleep,”Her voice was something I could detect from a distance and when she spoke, sleep completely vanished from my eyes.I jumped and immediately pulled the phone away from my ear so that I could confirm whether she was the one who called.“Aunt Felicia!” I called out and then cleared my throat loudly. “Good morning,”“Good morning, Grayham. You’ve been avoiding my calls. What’s the matter?”“No!” I quickly replied and began to scrape my forehead. “I’m not avoiding your calls. It’s just that I’ve been very busy lately,” I told her.The truth is that I’ve been avoiding her.

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    ROOFTOP

Grayham’s POVAs the car swerved down the road, I looked through the window and caught the street lights illuminating the streets.A couple of hours ago, I was convinced that nothing was going to take me back to Kaden home but here I was, seated in the back seat of a cab heading there.I think it’s safe to say that my emotions can change or maybe, I was changing.I’ve always been that kind of person who gives no shit about anybody and frankly, I would have remained in that summer house no matter how cold and lonely it was.But then, time wasn’t on my side.If Miles wants to go around throwing tantrums then so be it. I have my body to reclaim and if making peace with him is what was needed to get it back then so be it.The cab pulled up in front of the house and when I stepped out, I noticed that the lights in the whole house were on.I remember switching them off before I dashed out. I got to the entrance and noticed that the door was open.Only one person knew where to access the spa

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    REVOLUTION

Mile’s POVI wouldn’t want to get into trouble with the people here. I know how defensive they can be especially since Grayham was having my face so when I noticed that their numbers were beginning to increase, I took a step back. The cab that dropped me off was already gone so I knew I had to trek to the street before getting another cab. I heaved a sigh, turned around, and started walking away.I was heading for the street when I looked into the shrubs on my right. I noticed the people chopping down the trees. I was irked by the sight but then, something else caught my attention. In the opposite direction, two young men were digging up the soil. Surrounding them were small plants. I stopped and then strode toward them. I stood a few meters away and waved.“Are you guys planting?” I demanded even though it looked like that was what they were doing. These were the kind of initiatives Grayham should endorse. After looking at me from head to toe, one of them volunteered to speak.“We wi
