_The next morning_

Alina woke up because of a rumbling sound outside the cave.

Golden light streamed in through the cracks in the stone. Her body no longer hurt. The bruises on her wrists had faded. The oversized ivory gown was still wrapped around her body.

But her heart... still hurt. Hurt because of what Raka and his friends did to her. Especially the villagers who not a single one wanted to help her.

Memories from last night attacked her. Raka. The ravine.

They were the ones who pushed her. They were the ones who laughed in satisfaction seeing me helpless.

_"Just throw her away! She's bad luck. Let her disappear,"_ said Raka, the leader of their gang.

Her hand clenched on the tiger fur. Her nails dug into her palm, her face full of anger.

"So you're awake."

That low voice made Alina look up.

Draven stood near the throne. His back was to Alina. Tall, shrouded in shadow. In his hand was a bone spear.

"Do you hear them?" he asked without turning. "They're still up there. Looking for you. Maybe now they regret that no one helped you last night," said Draven, the Tiger King, firmly.

Alina sat up. The fur blanket fell. "Let them. And where were they last night? When I screamed for help, they just stayed silent and locked the doors of their houses," Alina said softly.

Draven turned around. His golden eyes stared straight at Alina.

"Then what do you want now? You're already here. You have to be bound to me. You have to be my queen," said Draven.

Silence.

Alina looked at her own hands. Hands that used to only sew and cook. Hands that used to beg for mercy.

Now... she wanted to make a fist.

"I hate them, all of them," Alina whispered. Her voice broke. "I hate Raka. I hate that village. I don't mind being bound to you... but I have one condition. I want to take revenge on Raka and the villagers. After it's all over... then you can have me completely," Alina said, her voice trembling with anger.

Draven narrowed his eyes. Then a small smile appeared. "Good, good," said Draven.

Alina was surprised. "Good?"

"Hate is fuel," Draven said softly. He walked closer and crouched in front of Alina. "Without it, you would have died at the bottom of the ravine. With it... you can live."

Alina bit her lip until it bled. "But I'm weak. I can't do anything. There are too many of them. How can I get my revenge?" Alina asked quietly.

Draven lifted Alina's chin with 2 fingers. Forcing her to look at him.

"You're wrong." His growl was low. "You survived. You screamed. You didn't die. That's not weak. You can get your revenge. You have to know, the reason you're here is to destroy all those villagers. But of course there is a price you have to pay."

"What is it?" Alina asked softly.

His thumb wiped the blood from Alina's lips.

"Be my queen. From now on you are in my territory. Under my protection. No one can touch you again," Draven said firmly.

"Then..." Alina took a deep breath. Her eyes were teary, but there was fire in them. "Teach me. Teach me how to make them afraid. Just like they made me afraid."

Draven looked at her deeply. "Are you sure? The path of vengeance is bloody, little girl," he said with a slight smile.

"I’m sure." Alina's voice grew stronger. For the first time, Alina became a woman full of hatred. Her voice didn't tremble. "They threw me away like trash. Now it's my turn to make them kneel," Alina said angrily.

Draven's smile widened. His fangs showed.

"Then we start tonight."

He stood and walked to the stone door. He knocked once. 3 warriors immediately entered and knelt.

"King."

"Take me to the edge of the ravine," Draven ordered. "Bring this girl too."

The warriors glanced at Alina, then bowed again. "Yes, King."

---

_Night. The edge of the ravine._

The cold wind hit Alina's face. It was dark below. Above, 20 villagers held torches. Raka was at the front. His face turned pale when he saw Alina standing flanked by tiger warriors.

"Alina?!" Raka shouted. "You're still alive?!" said Raka.

Alina stepped forward. Her hands trembled, but she didn't back down.

"I am alive," her voice rang out loud across the valley. "Thanks to the one you fear."

The villagers whispered. Afraid.

"You think throwing me away would be the end of it?" Alina continued. Her tears had dried. All that was left was coldness. "You think I would die and you could forget me?" Alina said firmly.

Raka raised his spear. "She's possessed! Kill her, she went into the Tiger's den on her own, we don't know anything about it," Raka lied to the villagers.

No one moved. Because behind Alina, Draven stepped out of the shadows.

His aura pressed down on the entire valley. The ground trembled. His golden eyes glowed.

"Anyone who touches her," Draven's voice boomed like thunder. "I will skin you alive."

Silence. Then the torches fell one by one.

Raka knelt. "Mercy... mercy, King... then ran away in panic."

Alina looked down at him. From the same place where she had been thrown.

Before, she was the one begging. Now Raka was the one begging.

"You don't deserve mercy," Alina said softly. But everyone heard. "But I won't kill you. Not yet."

She turned to Draven. "Let them live... with fear. Just like what they gave me," Alina said softly.

Draven looked at Alina for a long time. Then he nodded. Once.

"As my Queen commands."

The warriors roared. The sound echoed all the way to the village.

And that night, a new legend was born.

The girl who was thrown into the ravine...

Returned as a Queen.

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   A LATTER FROM HELL -POV RAKA

The Skull Cave is fucking freezing. Not from the wind. But from the ground. From the stones that have drunk too much blood. From the pond in the middle with black water. At the bottom there’s a chest. It’s full of powder. One spark and this whole place blows. Including me.I’m the leader now. Of whatever’s left of the Wolves. Guiding the other beasts to join us. Foxes. Boars. Whatever’s desperate enough. There’s a leather map in front of me. Behind me, 7 people. The last Wolves who still follow me. Hired guns. Cowards. Just like me.It’s been 5 days since I sent Sera to poison the eastern river of the Tigers.“No word from Sera yet, Sir,” Garon said. His iron hand _clank clank_ every time he moved.I threw my cup at the wall. _Crash_.“Coward! He’s probably dead. Caught!”“Not necessarily, Sir,” someone else said. “Maybe he’s waiting for night.”I went quiet. My fingers drummed on the hilt of my knife.Draven.That name is poison.5 days ago I ran from the battlefield. Ran when I saw

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   THE CAGE AND THE BLOOD LETTER -POV DRAVEN

This damn underground cage. Damp. Cold. And the smell... the smell of dried blood, wet dirt, and the smell of people who’ve already given up. Sera was hanging. Both wrists chained up high, so only the tips of his feet touched the ground. The other three were in the corner. Their muzzles gagged with leather so they couldn’t scream or bite their own tongues. Six hours. Six hours I’d been sitting here, listening to the rain outside that just wouldn’t quit. The door creaked open. Bayu walked in. The torch in his hand was shaking. His face was still wrapped in bandages. There were brown stains on his cheek. "The others talked, Your Majesty," he said. His breath was heavy. "The fox. Coward. He cracked first. Said their base is at Skull Cave. Northwest. A day’s walk from here." I nodded. My throat was dry. "And Sera?" Bayu shook his head. "Stone. Hasn’t said a word. Just keeps grinning." Alina had been beside me the whole time. Not sitting. Not leaning. Her eyes never left Sera for

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   POISON IN THE River - DRAVEN POV

The smell of blood was still stuck in my nose.It had been 5 days since that war. 5 days since Raka ran. The tiger den was quiet. Too quiet.I sat on a flat rock in front of the main tent. In my hand was a report from Bayu. Scratches on a piece of bark. `3 buried. 4 seriously wounded stable. Water in the eastern river tastes strange.`Strange.Alina came out of the tent. Her steps were still limping, but her back was straight again. Her face was pale. The fever only broke last night. "What does it say?" she asked. Her voice was still hoarse."The water in the eastern river tastes bitter," I answered. I crumpled the bark in my hand. "The healer said 2 tiger cubs threw up after drinking this morning."Alina tensed immediately. "Poison.""I was thinking the same."Silence. Only the sound of wind through the leaves."This is Raka’s doing," Alina whispered. Her eyes lit up. "Only 5 days as king, and he’s already playing dirty."I stood up. My ribs still hurt if I moved too fast. But

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   THE NEW KING-RAKA'S POV

The rain wouldn’t stop.I ran. Didn’t look back.Behind me there were only corpses. The King’s corpse. The pack’s corpses. The corpse of my own pride.Mud splattered on my face with every step. Thorns tore at my calves until they bled. But I couldn’t stop. Stopping meant dying. Same as them."RAKA!"The Wolf King’s last roar still echoed in my head, so loud it hurt my eardrums. "TRAITOR!"Coward. Yeah, I’m a coward. But a coward who’s still breathing.I don’t know how long. Felt like a whole day. Lungs burning, legs shaking, breath about to give out. Finally my body gave out too. I collapsed under a huge tree with roots sticking out like claws. Panting. There was blood on my palms. Didn’t know whose. From far away, a howl. Long. Dragging.A mourning howl. It meant their king was dead.I laughed instead. My voice cracked. "Safe travels, my Lord," I muttered into the dark. "Thanks for teaching me one thing."How to survive. By being the most ruthless. That night I didn’t close my eyes a

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   THE RACINE OF blood - draven pov

Dawn hadn't come yet. There was only darkness.Thick darkness. The kind that made my eyes ache from forcing them to stay open.I stood at the edge of the ravine. Wind rose from below, carrying the smell of wet dirt and... wolves.A lot of them.Behind me, 12 tiger warriors crouched behind rocks. Weapons in hand. Holding their breath.Next to me, Alina. She wasn’t wearing armor. Just a plain black shirt, cloth pants, and a dagger at her waist.I’d changed the bandage on her shoulder 2 hours ago. White. Tight. But I knew the wound underneath was still throbbing with every breath she took."Ready?" I whispered. She didn’t look at me. Her eyes were locked straight ahead, into the dark forest."Been ready for 3 days," she answered. Her voice was cold. No tremor.Bayu was on my left. He held up 3 fingers. The signal. 3 more minutes.I closed my eyes. Just once. To gather everything. The rage. The pain. The emptiness of the last 3 nights. When I opened them again, there was only calculation

  • THE TIGER WOMAN   BLOOD FOR BLOOD-draven'pov

The rain wouldn’t stop. Not the normal kind. This was the kind of rain that crawled into your bones, turned the earth to mud, and made the smell of blood ten times worse.I was perched on the highest branch by the river. Twenty meters up. From here I could see everything. The wind carried the stench up to me. A stench that had been stuck in my nose for three nights straight.Three nights. Three nights since I’d slept more than ten minutes at a time. Three nights since I wrapped the last bandage around Alina’s shoulder. Three nights since I watched her lie there, biting back pain, while I bit my own lip so hard I tasted iron just to keep from screaming. My eyes burned. My head felt heavy. But one second of carelessness and we were all dead.Below, by the riverbank, were four young wolves. You could see their ribs. Their fur was matted. Their eyes were dull. These weren’t warriors. These were kids forced to hunt because the pack was already starving.Bait. Perfect bait.My
