Chapter Fifty-two.

Diana's pov

The prince and his ‘new mate’ took their precious time before they left the queen's chamber.

It took everything in me not to look at him. I was too hurt, too angry that he would betray me like that, then again, he had already rejected me, this shouldn't be on him.

I didn't know what had happened, one minute the queen was seated, sipping her tea, the next minute she instructed that we tidied the place up. I brought the trolley out and placed the teacups and dishes into it. I could feel the queen staring at my face but I didn't budge.

She dismissed us with a wave of her hand. I bowed before rolling the trolley out of the room. The other maid, who I still haven't learned her name was right behind me as she pulled both sides of the door closed.

The queen never really addressed us with our names, all she needed to do was wave and we'd be at her service, either one of us, usually her.

She threw a sideways look at me before she walked away. I didn't even bother
