SILVER BLOOD'S PREQUEL Right in the middle of the ballroom, the tray as well as the champagne glasses clattered on the ground with a loud crash, spilling drinks everywhere and on everyone close, he stared at me with so much disgust and I didn't know how to feel. “Impossible! The moon goddess must have lost her mind if she thinks you, a mere wolf can match up to an Original lycan.” Every word uttered led to something I dreaded the most. “I, Prince Alaric O'Neil Winston, reject you as my mate. Get her out of here now!” For centuries, the Lycans ruled with extreme viciousness and wickedness by enslaving the weaker and inferior specie, the werewolves. Their agony and suffering met the heart of the moon goddess and she bestowed upon them a savior. Chosen To lead her kind to freedom after being rejected by her mate, the lycan prince, Diana Melbourne must become the very thing she feared—a killer!

Diana's pov:A loud voice filled the atmosphere. One minute, I was in a shop and the next, I'm in a room with the Lycan King and another man. It was like a trance, a projection but the problem was that I was in their midst but they couldn't see or feel me."What? A mere wolf? To take my throne?" The Lycan King bellowed, his voice filled with anger and a bit of mockery.I couldn't move or speak no matter how much I tried to."Y—yes... Sire." The priest responded, shaking visibly out of fear."Tell me something Cedric. Start afresh. I want to know how the moon goddess has gone wild." He said while he walked into the throne room, Cedric just right behind him.“Sire it's a bit complicated, the moon goddess is angry with us… with our ways and wants to punish us.”The lycan king sat on his golden throne on the dias and glanced at the high priest.“I'm not in the mood for any of your nonsense talk Cedric.” King William was beginning to feel irked, I could tell from his constant clicking of his finger against the arms off his throne. The high priest began to shake his head frantically in protest, “Sire, this from the moon goddess herself, we should take it seriously." Although Cedric was visibly shaking, he needed to pass across an information which must have been very important."Now is not the time for this high priest, my wife has just gone into labor and they have been in there for hours, there's also news about some recent disturbances coming from the wolves in the towns so excuse me if I don't really care what the moon goddess has to say except if she can solve my issue!” The lycan king blew up.The high priest was lost in thought for a few seconds, “Your majesty, just listen to me for a few seconds, that's all, it entails the survival of our kind,” he tried to plead. “The moon goddess has given a prophecy.”The lycan king scrunched up his face in confusion, “What prophecy? Is it going to help with my child that is being born, or with those imposters that call themselves wolves? Honestly if it were that I would gladly give you a listening ear.”The lycan king was really not in a good mood as the guards had warned the high priest beforehand. But then, Cedric began reading the scroll in his hand:“BENEATH THE MOON'S VEILED GAZE, THE LYCAN DEFY THE ANCIENT RITES AND LAWS. THEY HAVE CAUSED CHAOS TO MY CREATION, SHATTERING THE BALANCE. THEIR REIGN WILL CRUMBLE AND IN ITS PLACE WILL RISE THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS, DESCENDANTS OF THE MOON GODDESS HERSELF, AND OF HER OWN IMAGE SHALL THEY BE, A MIGHTIER FORCE IN THE VEINS OF SILVER. A CHANCE TO REDEEM YOURSELF SHALL BE GIVEN, BUT IF LOST, YOUR ENTIRE REIGN SHALL COME TO AN END, ALONG WITH YOUR KIND."As Cedric recited the prophecy, goosebumps flooded his entire body as the hairs on his back stood. His hands were visibly shaking and his mouth quivered with fear. “We might have angered the moon goddess with our ways and now she will punish us for it.”He continued outrightly cutting the king off even though he knew he was courting death. “A group of women perhaps, maybe men, I didn't see that part clearly. I also couldn't figure out what our second chance would be. I've had this for a while and it has burdened me ever since, I thought I could receive more from her but I felt it was getting late and I needed to bring it to your attention,” Cedric blurted out in one breath, he glanced up to access the king's reaction to see if he had gotten through to him.I tried moving once again, but it felt like two invisible barriers held me in place, why was this happening though? The lycan king stood up from his throne, “Cedric, your disrespect aside for a while, you really think a bunch of lowlife weak she-wolves are capable of bringing an empire that has existed for generations? Then you must be just as delusional as the moon goddess is.” The king bursted out laughing before he became serious."Blasphemy, your grace!""Blasphemy?" The King asked, amused by the sudden outburst of the high priest.“You need to heed to this warning your majesty. You cannot just let this go by because you are too proud to face square to square with a bunch of she-wolves!” Cedric exploded like a bomb, forgetting for a minute that he was in the presence of the king, or maybe he was just afraid of the moon goddesses threat than the king in front of him.I was even surprised that he could raise his voice at the king, even in my state, I was scared for Cedric.“I've tolerated your nonsense long enough, and so have my fathers but I guess you've taken it a bit too far, I suggest you leave. Now!” The lycan king said before he began to walk away.“This isn't about me, your grace. It's about the Lycan population that you are about to let go extinct." Cedric didn't care anymore.A wet nurse bursted in through the side doors, her breathing ragged, her dress stained with blood. “Your majesty, the child has arrived,” she announced. “It's a prince, your highness.”The Lycan king exclaimed, “Finally! Some good news." But before he could celebrate his victory, he heard from the high priest once again, “That's it! That must be it, there must be some kind of connection, or maybe he caused everything, I am telling you what I saw, what I felt.”A guard buried in as well and informed the king on the occurrence and the going on of the packs which didn't add to his mood.“Your Majesty, all these; the prophecy from the moon goddess, the child, the disturbances from the various packs, they cannot be a coincidence, if you would just listen to what I have to say.”While the king walked towards the wet nurse, Cedric followed behind him.“Your Majesty, the ministers would like to see you as well,” The guard from earlier also informed again. “They said it's quite urgent, but still on the matters of the local packs."Cedric continued, “Your majesty don't you see, if we want to save our species, we need to…"A resounding crack shocked both the wet nurse, the guard and me as well as Cedric fell to the floor in a heap, his head rolling off as his sentence was cut off. “I never really liked him anyway,” the lycan king muttered before he addressed the guard who had just entered, “Dispose of his body."I couldn't stop staring at the headless body that laid limp on the polished floor.”You…” He turned to the wet nurse, “Lead me to my child.” None of them dared to speak as they carried out their assigned task.Suddenly, I heard my name from a distance and then, a blinding white light brought me back to reality. I swallowed my dried, aching throat as beads of sweat ran down my face. My heart pounded vigorously. What happened? My eyes darted around as they landed on my palms which had turned white out of fear and my claws outstretched in defense. A dream or a vision of the past? But one thing I do know is, what I had just witnessed birthed my story; THE ORIGIN OF SILVER BLOODS. .Chapter 293: A Royal End Diana’s pov The pack apparently had been silent as they waited for our return. We were bloodied, bruised, and exhausted as we arrived at the pack, carrying the injured as well as the losses we had amounted to, which was quite a number from both packs. We had won the battle but we had also lost a lot of lives in the process, was that really a win? I spotted Alaric, who might have just been waiting for us to return, running towards us before wrapping me in his arms and lifting me into the air, holding me close to him. His scent was intoxicating. I thought I would never see him again. The exhaustion had finally caught up with me and I collapsed in the safety of his arms, he pressed my hands against his chest and inhaled deeply, “I'm glad you're safe.” The sound of his voice comforted me, but at the same time made me feel guilty for what I had done back in the palace. The tears pooled at the corner of my eyes as I realized he was the last of his kind, “I'm
Chapter 292: Finally Diana's pov Karen and I met up while the others remained and watched the fire burn, leaving one after the other and not wanting to be caught as the fire spread rapidly. Karen had been thinking about it for a long time. She had wanted the werewolves to be on their own while the humans would be in their own zone and both shouldn't cross paths, “As much as I like you and you're a really good person, it's only for the best.” This I understood completely and wouldn't have had it any other way. We came to an agreement before staring at the blazing fire, it was going to burn as the size of the palace was humongous. This would also clear whatever had been killing them as we didn't want it to attach itself to us. It might have only been the lycans, but who was to say it didn't affect the locals as well? It might just be taking much longer before it attacks us. My prayer was to the moon goddess that it would wait for a very long time. The humans and the werewolves th
Chapter 291: The End Of A Reign Diana POVI drained the last bit of energy I had just to keep him alive which I succeeded in doing. Taking in a large gulp of air, I laid down beside him and his twin brother. He was alright, I repeated this in my head and thanked the moon goddess for not taking him away. She had been by my side the entire time just as she had promised. After taking that log of air, before finally realizing that the room had been occupied by the others, Karen, Roy, as well as others who had followed us into battle. They stood staring back at me as I stood to my feet and helped Daniel sit up. It was quiet, save for the shuffling of feets.Being surrounded by so many people, months ago I would have been scared and shied away but now here I stood. Our mission that day was to save the humans and the werewolves from the hands of the lycans but we had done more than that.“The Lycans after witnessing the death of their king had lost all hope to fight and fled the scene,” Kar
Chapter 290: Snapped Neck Diana's povIf I remember correctly, the pendant had been manufactured by Luke's mother, the witch. Apparently, it was made specifically for Silver bloods. I didn't know the full extent of it, but having been attacked by it with the king before, it had something that made us weak.“You think that's going to hurt me?” I stared at the pendant quizzically, the king had only held it out to me when there had only been a moment of weakness and nothing more, which was the same thing that happened now.Donald chuckled, “It might not hurt you, but might keep you down enough for me to kill you.” The smirk had vanished from his face and his eyes darkened, taking a step towards me with his hands stretched out in front of him. From this distance, I could already feel the effects of the pendant. A constant ringing that got louder and louder, it felt as though the very blood that ran through my veins was boiling and I felt hot all over.My teeth gnashed against each other
Chapter 289: An Imposter. A Bastard. Diana's pov.“Donald? What the hell are you talking about?” Who the hell was Donald and why was he speaking in such a manner? His voice had changed as well as his accent. His smile morphed into the soft smile I had always known Daniel to have, but in the next second, it disappeared, there was something different. He cackled at my perplexity, “You are not Daniel, are you?” I questioned his weird behavior. He shook his head, “I didn't peg you to be really slow, Diana. Then again, it's not like you can tell the difference, can you?” “Daniel is my twin brother, bring him out boys,” he yelled out and two of the guards brought out an identical person, dragging him by the hands while his knees scraped the floors. This version of Daniel was looking bruised and battered and on the verge of death, “Allow me present to you, my younger brother, Daniel,” he triumphantly said as he walked off the dias and towards the real Daniel. They were really identical tw
Chapter 288: A Riddle?Diana's pov It was over.Standing at the highest point in the palace for everyone to see and gazing down at them as they all came to a stand still.Hughes laid with his back pressed against the earth for everyone to see that the kingdom had finally fallen.A kingdom with no king is as good as doomed, at least that's what they said but I seemed to disagree, it didn't matter if we had a king or not, what mattered was peace and equality. This was a show and the Lycans knew that they had lost the battle and the war, and it was only a matter of time before they faded away into dust. There would only be one Lycan left in the kingdom.I needed to find the queen and the princess and save them, my thoughts trailed back to Alaric. He shouldn't have to suffer the loss of being alone, as much as I hated the both of them. The queen had been nothing but spite, holding me down on her leash like I was some dog, threatening me every second she had gotten, and the princess had b
