Sophia’s POV

The door clicked shut behind me, and the silence of the hotel room pressed in. I peeled off my dress with a sharp tug, the zipper scraping down my spine like a reminder of everything that had gone wrong tonight.

Doman’s voice still echoed in my head. I thought he would be proud. I thought sabotaging one of Dami’s biggest contracts would prove that I was serious. Instead, he yelled at me like I was a child.

Now, standing there in nothing but my underwear, I felt stupid for trying so hard to please him.

I slipped into my silk robe and poured myself a glass of red wine forcing my hands not to shake. The first sip burned my throat, but it calmed the tremor in my chest.

I slumped onto the couch, remote in hand, and turned on the TV. The glow from the screen painted my face in soft blue light as laughter from some late night comedy filled the room.

I laughed too, at nothing really. Maybe I just needed to hear what it felt like to be happy again. But the laughter didn’t last.

  • THE TURNAROUND CEO   Power

Sophia’s POVThe phone wouldn’t stop ringing. “Good morning,” I said for the fifth time that hour, trying to sound polite even though every muscle in my body screamed with irritation. “Yes.. the CEO is currently in a meeting. I’ll pass the message.”I dropped the receiver and leaned back in my chair, staring at the polished reception desk in front of me. My new position. The front desk.I hated it. The chair squeaked when I shifted, as if mocking me. Through the glass, I watched as sharply dressed investors streamed into the boardroom one after another, their expensive suits glinting beneath the light. Laughter, firm handshakes, the confident tap of heels all of it reminded me that I wasn’t part of that world anymore. I was stuck here, reduced to taking calls and answering pointless questions. The only sound in the reception now came from the ticking clock on the wall and the muffled voices echoing down the corridor. Even the two security guards outside looked busier than me.Frustra

  • THE TURNAROUND CEO   Another contract

Dami’s POVI stared at Sophia, barely holding on to my patience. “Sophia, I’m tired,” I said flatly, dragging my words as I unzipped my jacket. “Whatever this is, it can wait till morning.”“It can’t,” she snapped, her voice trembling with anger. “I can’t believe you would demote me again, Dami. After everything I’ve done to prove that I’m not the enemy after trying to make things right, you still did this?”Her words stung, but I didn’t let it show. “I almost lost a major contract, Sophia,” I said evenly, sitting on the edge of my bed. “And I still don’t know who sabotaged it. You’re the first person everyone suspects. So forgive me if I’m trying to protect everything I’ve worked for.”Her eyes darkened, lips trembling. “You think really think I did it? After everything?”“I think people do desperate things when they feel cornered,” I replied quietly. “And until I know what’s really going on, I can’t take chances. All the money Lycan left me went into buying this company. Every late

  • THE TURNAROUND CEO   Together II

DAMI’S POVThe room felt like a dream I didn’t want to wake from, the faint hum of music in the background, and Doman’s gaze fixed on me like I was the only thing that existed. He leaned closer again. When his lips touched mine, my mind went completely blank. All the noise, the tension, the questions was dissolved. His kiss wasn’t gentle this time, it was hungry and slow at the same time, the kind that pulled every breath right out of me. My fingers found the back of his neck, tracing the lines of his skin, feeling the strength beneath. It wasn’t our first time, but it felt new like we had never done this before. He kissed me deeper, one hand cupping my jaw, the other sliding down my arm. My heart fluttered and then raced, each beat louder than the next. Every place he touched burned and softened in the same moment, and I didn’t want him to stop.I let him guide me, my body remembering what my mind tried to forget. I didn’t want to think. I just wanted to feel his warmth, his breath

  • THE TURNAROUND CEO   Togethet I

Dami’s POVThe afternoon sun spilled lazily through the blinds as I signed the last document on my desk. My mind wasn’t here, not really. I had been distracted since morning, unable to shake the dull ache in my chest or the exhaustion that came with pretending to be fine. Rhea stood beside my chair, sorting files into neat piles, her sharp eyes flicking toward me every few minutes like she was measuring my mood.“Are you leaving already?” she asked as I grabbed my bag. “It’s not even two yet.”I smiled faintly. “I’m tired, Rhea. I just want to breathe a little, have some fun. Work can survive a few hours without me.”She frowned, clearly unconvinced. “You’ve been distracted all day, Dami. I think you should rest, not go out.”“Rest, fun are the same thing,” I said, slinging the bag over my shoulder. “Don’t worry so much.”Her lips pressed together, but she didn’t argue. The date I had planned with Do man was important as well. Maybe being with Doman would quiet the noise or at least

  • THE TURNAROUND CEO   Demoted

Sophia’s POVThe moment we arrived at the company, I watched Dami walk straight into the CEO’s office, the one I admired for a while, the one I believed I would someday sit in.She didn’t even glance in my direction. She walked with quiet authority, her head held high. The sight made something twist inside me.I adjusted my blazer, forcing my chin up, pretending I wasn’t fazed. But inside, I was burning. I was the one who used to give orders here as her assistant. I was the one everyone used to look up to. And now, I was walking to my section like a regular employee. But before I even reached my desk, Rhea intercepted me. Her smile was too polished, her eyes too eager.“Sophia,” she said sweetly. “I was just about to come find you.”I frowned, suspicious. “Find me for what?”Her lips curled slightly. “Your position as head of staff has been withdrawn. You’ll be resuming as the new receptionist.”For a second, I thought I misheard her. “What?” I breathed out, my throat tightening. “Tha

  • THE TURNAROUND CEO   Best man

Axel’s POVThe laughter coming from the dining table was beginning to grate on my nerves. Doman’s voice was low and teasing. He sat too close to Dami, his hand occasionally brushing hers.I pushed my plate away, appetite gone. “I’m done,” I muttered under my breath, standing.Alexa caught the movement from where she and Rhea sat near the kitchen island. Her brows lifted. “You’re leaving already? You barely touched your food.”“I’m not hungry.” My voice came out rougher than I intended.Rhea exchanged a knowing look with Alexa before setting down her fork. “You’re not hungry because of Doman, right?”I froze for half a second but didn’t answer. The way she said his name so casually made something twist in my chest. Instead, I turned and walked upstairs before I said something I would regret. Each step felt heavier than the last. I was tired of pretending this didn’t hurt, tired of acting like I wasn’t watching the woman I loved slip further away every day.By the time I reached my room
