Chapter 28: She is awake

SANTANA POV

Regaining consciousness felt like I was being pulled out of darkness. At first everything felt foggy, like my brain was momentarily shut down, and the slowly it started to regain function.

The booting process took few seconds and after it was fully functional it commanded my eyes to open.

My vision was a little blurry, and the white light in the room was too bright. As my eye sight fought to adjust to my reality, my ears picked on something.

Someone was reading out loud in the room.

The deep calm voice felt familiar. I heard it when I was under. It had felt like a thread of rope tugging me back to reality.

As my vision got clearer, my surroundings registered better. I recognised immediately where I was.

I was in my room back at the pack. Slowly other things began to filter in. Like the fact that my servant Jesse was sitting on a chair with a book in his hand reading to me.

I never knew he could read.

His voice was nice and soothing. I didn’t recognise the book he was read
