LOGINSantoro's POVI staggered back and almost tripped, but managed to maintain my balance. “Lucia!” My eyes flickered, but she didn't seem to care as her frown deepened accompanied by a sneer. “You must really think you are anyone important to drag me like that.” She scoffed, driving the attention of everyone present in the party. “You have been flirting with everyone here, and I'm not going to stand for it. You are married, and you should conduct yourself.” I added, and Lucia burst into laughter.“And who the hell are you to tell me that?” She chuckled mockingly, and my mouth dropped open at her insolence. I've known her to always be wild, but she never showed this side of her to me while I was still married to Sofia. “I am your husband, Lucia.” I could no longer stand the humiliation and decided to take a stand against it. She began laughing and some of the men that were beside her laughed as well. “Husband? I didn’t know you were married, Lucia.” One of the politicians made the c
Santoro's POVI stared at the document blankly, and my mind was unable to comprehend any of the words written in it. It's been nothing but hell for me since we returned from last weeks event. My mind has been clogged with nothing but thoughts of Sofia, and my ears have been buzzed with Lucia's cry, complaints, and how she has blatantly vowed to make Sofia's life a living hell. I shut down my computer and closed the file in front of me. There was no need trying, I'm probably not going to make any heads way with the contents in it just like yesterday and the day before. “Oh Sofia!” I whispered her name unconsciously and shook my head. I had no idea what I was thinking when I signed those damn divorce papers, and now I'm starting to regret it very much. My mouth curved into a smile as I remembered what Sofia looked like at the party. She was sizzling hot in the red killer dress she was putting on. And the gaint confidence she wore was like nothing I had ever seen before. For the th
Matteo's POVI straightened my back with a yawn coming out of my mouth in full force. Ever since I took up the contract at Estaban Global Conglomerate, I've hardly time to sleep and today as usual is one of those days where I will be working late into the night just to be able to meet up with the deadlines of projects and of course the ever demanding CEO, Sofia Estaban.“Sofia..” Her name spread sweetly and I couldn't help but chuckle as my mind drifted towards her. The pen and file in my hands dropped as I reminisced on our first encounter. Of course I knew who she was and didn't bother making an introduction the first time. It was good seeing her in that mode, that way I know exactly what I'm up against. And the look on her face at her party when she walked up to me to introduce herself was absolutely divine. If only I could go back and relieve that moment all over again, I would do anything for that. And I have since then made some research about her, and her past and how she g
Sofia's POV The next day, I sat on my office chair, punching words into my computer as I hurriedly fixed the errors I made last night while completing a project. Ever since my encounter with Matteo and the heated argument we had yesterday, I have constantly been on the edge, and I must say it's driving me crazy. I cleared my throat, trying to mask my tiredness as I winked my eyes beneath the glasses. I had to wear something to hide the baggy eyes. I can't believe Matteo is keeping me on my toes. “I need him to leave me and my company the fuck alone.” I groaned. In a bid to show him my competence, I worked all through the night sorting projects and documents not yet due. I ended up making some mistakes, and now I have to correct it.“What the hell was I thinking?” I scolded myself, but I didn't stop. With the last words logged into my computer, I was finally done. “Phew!” I heaved a deep sigh in relief and grabbed the coffee mug that was left on my desk over an hour ago. I sipped
Sofia's POV“What!” My anger rose to the top hearing him speak like that. And what annoyed me the most is how he can be so composed in the face of a heated argument like this. I wish he would just disappear from here and leave me the hell alone.“You heard me right, Miss Sofia. I'm afraid you can not dismiss me at will.” He repeated, and my eyes crumbled with confusion mixed with anger. “And what in the world is that supposed to mean? The last time I checked, I'm the CEO of this company and not you. And I get to decide who I want to work with.” I reminded him with my teeth gritted at him. “The board already signed a six month contract with my firm, and I'm obligated to complete the consultation. Besides, cutting off the contract will attract legal consequences.” Mattoe tried to scare me, but I wasn't in the least bothered. “We can't let that happen…”“That will bring such a bad effect to the company, and we can't let that happen under our nose.”“We will lose so much money, we can
Sofia's POV“Miss Estaban, your guests are all waiting for you, ma'am.” Mr. Smith walked up to me and said, breaking the awkward silence that surrounded the atmosphere.“Of course, how can I forget that I have important matters to attend to?” I smiled my gaze, still glued to Santoro.“Excuse me,” I giggled, turned around, and walked away. The gossip and whispers amongst the crowd erupted as I walked away majestically, taking each calculated step as though I owned the world. Matteo was right there, still waiting for me, an emotionless expression plastered on his face. As I climbed up the stairways, he suddenly stretched his hand towards me, and I glanced up at him.Our eyes met briefly, and I felt a spark ignite. I can't tell what it is, but there's something intriguing about this strange man. I squinted my eyes at him with a frown.“Won't you take it, Miss Estaban? My hand is starting to hurt.” His voice invaded my thoughts, and I shrugged. I quickly took his hand, and he helped me u
