A FRACTILE TRUCE

They burst out from the oppressive darkness of the alley onto the deserted, rain-slicked street. The sounds of the brutal fight in her apartment building were muffled now, a distant storm. For a single, heart-lifting moment, Luna felt a surge of wild, desperate hope. They had made it. They were away.

"Just a little further," River murmured, his voice a steady anchor in her swirling terror, his grip on her arm unbreakable as he pulled her toward the side street where his car was hidden.

Suddenly, he froze. His entire massive body went rigid, a statue of tension. He shoved her behind him with such shocking, primal force that she stumbled, her palms scraping against the rough, wet pavement.

Standing under the flickering, sickly glow of a faulty streetlight, calmly blocking their path, was a figure that made Luna's blood run cold.

It wasn't Dr. Thorne. It wasn't a squad of Enforcers.

It was Asher Blackwood.

He leaned against a sleek, black sedan, his posture deceptively relaxed. There was no sign of the fierce battle he should have been in the middle of. No sweat, no tears in his expensive clothes, no blood on his knuckles. He looked pristine. Collected. The storm in his eyes had been replaced by an unnerving, glacial calm.

Relief, so potent it made her knees weak, warred with a sudden, sharp spike of confusion.

"Asher!" she gasped, trying to step out from behind River's protective bulk. "You're okay! What happened? Where's Kai?"

River didn't move. A low, warning growl vibrated through him, his body coiled like a spring. "Blackwood," he said, his voice tight with a suspicion Luna didn't yet understand. "The fight?"

Asher pushed himself off the car, his movements fluid and unnervingly quiet. He ignored River completely, his storm-grey eyes locking solely on Luna. A slow, possessive smile touched his lips, but it never reached his eyes.

"The fight is over," Asher said, his voice smooth as polished steel. "The Iron Fang pack has been... reminded of their place."

He took a step forward. River mirrored it, blocking his path completely.

"You left Kai to clean up your mess?" River's question was a low, accusing rumble.

Asher finally flicked his gaze to River, a look of cold dismissal. "Kai understood his role. He was the necessary distraction at the door while I secured the primary exit. He's dealing with the stragglers." His eyes cut back to Luna, the intensity in them making her shiver. "My priority was always my mate. Getting her to safety."

He said the right words, but something was terribly, fundamentally wrong. The air didn't crackle with his protective fury; it lay heavy with a chilling sense of control.

"Then let's go," Luna said, her voice trembling. "The safe house—"

"The plans have changed, little omega," Asher interrupted, his tone leaving no room for argument. He gestured to the open back door of the sedan. "We're not going to the safe house. We're going directly to my territory. The Shadow Moon compound. It's the only place secure enough now."

River shook his head, his broad shoulders set in a stubborn line. "No. That wasn't the agreement. The Cherry Street safe house is neutral ground. It's where we regroup."

"There is no 'we,' Nightshade," Asher said, and the veneer of civility cracked, revealing the ruthless alpha beneath. "The alliance served its purpose. It got her out of that deathtrap apartment. But she is my mate. The bond was with me first. I will be the one to protect her. I will be the one to decide what happens next."

The world seemed to tilt on its axis. Luna stared at Asher, the alpha who had saved her, whose scent had called to her soul, and saw a stranger. This wasn't protection. This was a coup.

"You can't just—" Luna began, but River spoke over her, his voice dropping to a deadly whisper.

"So this was your play all along, Blackwood? Use the chaos, use us, to isolate her? To cut her off from any other potential protection and take her for yourself?"

Asher’s smile returned, colder and sharper than before. "I'm taking what is mine. Get in the car, Luna."

It wasn't a request. It was an order, laced with so much alpha compulsion that her body twitched with the instinct to obey.

River let out a roar of pure fury, finally shifting his stance into an outright fighting posture, placing himself squarely between Luna and the car. "You'll have to go through me first."

"I was hoping you'd say that," Asher purred, and the predatory glee in his voice was terrifying.

But before either alpha could move, a new voice, laced with a dark, familiar amusement, sliced through the standoff.

"He won't have to go through you alone, healer."

From the shadows of the alley they had just fled, Kai Stormheart emerged. He was breathing heavily, a thin trail of blood leaking from a cut on his brow, his clothes disheveled from the fight. He looked every bit the rogue warrior who had just battled his way to freedom.

Luna's heart leapt again, a fragile flower of hope. "Kai!"

But Kai didn't look at her. His golden eyes, burning with a chaotic light, were fixed on River. He stepped up to stand beside Asher, not as a prisoner, not as a rival, but as an ally. A partner.

He cracked his neck, a feral grin spreading across his face as he stared down the gentle giant who had sworn to protect her.

"Sorry, River," Kai said, his voice a taunt. "But the pack you thought you were joining? It turns out, you were never invited."

The betrayal was so absolute, so perfectly executed, that the ground fell out from under Luna. She stood frozen, her gaze darting between the two alphas—Asher, the cold, calculating strategist, and Kai, his willing, brutal lieutenant. They hadn't been fighting each other. They had been working together. The entire rescue, the fragile alliance, had been a meticulously staged performance to lure her into a far more gilded, and infinitely more inescapable, cage.

Asher looked at her, his expression one of ultimate victory.

"The game is over, Luna," he said softly, his voice the final, chilling lock on her fate. "It's time to come home."

  • THREE ALPHA MALE MATES   BOUND BY INSTINCT

Luna's apartment had never felt smaller. Three massive alphas filled the space, their combined presence making the air thick with tension and barely restrained power. She pressed herself against the wall, overwhelmed by the intensity of their combined scents and the way her body responded to each of them."This is crazy," she whispered, her voice shaking. "All of this is completely insane.""Crazy doesn't mean wrong," River said gently, his hands still framing her face. His touch was warm, steadying, and she found herself leaning into it despite her fear.Asher moved closer, his storm-grey eyes never leaving her face. "The mate bond doesn't lie, Luna. What you're feeling, what we're all feeling—it's real.""Multiple mate bonds aren't possible," Luna protested weakly, even as her body betrayed her words by responding to both alphas' proximity.Kai laughed from where he leaned against her kitchen counter, somehow managing to look perfectly at ease despite the tension crackling through t

  • THREE ALPHA MALE MATES   THREE ALPHAS, OMEGA

Luna stared at Kai through the glass, her body responding to his presence despite Dr. Thorne's medication. The suppressant had dulled the sharp edge of her heat, but it couldn't stop the way her pulse quickened or the liquid warmth that pooled low in her belly."Go away," she said, but her voice lacked conviction.Kai's mouth curved into a knowing smile. "That's not what your scent is telling me." He pressed his palm against the window. "Let me in, Luna."The sound of her name on his lips sent a shiver down her spine. How did he know her name? How had he found her apartment?"I'm not inviting strange alphas into my home.""Strange?" Kai laughed, the sound rich and dark. "We're going to be much more than strangers, omega. You felt it in the alley. The pull."She had felt it. Even now, with glass between them, the mate bond was trying to form, reaching out like invisible threads. It was different from what she'd experienced with Asher but equally powerful, equally undeniable."You can't

  • THREE ALPHA MALE MATES   HEAT & WANT

Luna barely made it through her apartment door before her knees gave out. She slumped against the wood, sliding down until she was sitting on the cold hardwood floor, her body burning from the inside out.The heat was getting worse. Much worse. She'd managed to keep it together in the alley, but now, alone in her tiny studio apartment, there was no hiding from what was happening to her. Every nerve ending felt exposed, hypersensitive. The thin cotton of her uniform clung to her skin like sandpaper, and she could smell her own arousal mixing with the lingering scents of the two alphas she'd just encountered.Asher's pine and winter storm. Kai's wild ocean and leather. Both scents were embedded in her memory now, her omega biology cataloging them as potential mates. The thought should have terrified her, but instead it sent another wave of liquid heat straight to her core.Luna pressed her palms against her eyes, trying to think clearly. She needed to call in sick to work tomorrow. She

  • THREE ALPHA MALE MATES   THE SCENT OF DESTINY

Luna Rivers pressed her back against the cold brick wall of the alley, her heart hammering against her ribs as footsteps echoed closer. The suppressants she'd been taking for years were failing, and her omega scent was bleeding through despite the pills she'd doubled up on this morning."I can smell you, little omega." The voice was rough, predatory. "No point hiding now."She squeezed her eyes shut, cursing herself for taking the shortcut home from her night shift at the diner. Seattle's supernatural district wasn't safe for any omega after dark, let alone one whose scent was calling to every alpha within a five-mile radius. The footsteps stopped directly in front of her hiding spot. Luna held her breath, pressing herself deeper into the shadows between two dumpsters. Her phone was dead, and screaming would only attract more unwanted attention."Found you."A massive hand shot out, grabbing her wrist and yanking her from her hiding place. The alpha was huge, easily six and a half fee
