"You must be kidding. Is this some kind of secret society?”

Felix shrugged slightly. “Sorta. coming?”

Mila didn't realize that she hadn't even stepped out of that horrible elevator. She was still holding on to the rusty bar that she didn't want to touch before.

"Tell me that you won't surprise me again."

"Unfortunately I still have some surprises."

“Felix?”

"Oh hi Mantis."

A man in his early fifties walked up to Felix. The man was wearing a gray suit and looked dashing in his middle age. Felix and the man named Mantis hugged each other and wished each other a Merry Christmas.

"Merry Christmas buddy. I'm sorry for your loss."

"Ezra, huh? There has been no official statement from the police yet.”

Mantis didn't say anything. He was polite enough not to break Felix's optimism that Ezra was alive out there.

"What are you doing here?"

“I'm taking this lady on a short tour. The commissioner has given me permission. This is part of Ezra's request."
