Daddy please come, someone bad people are bullying mummy

It's been weeks since Rosaline got married to Gordon Grey and moved into his mansion.

No one notices her.

All she does is play with Amelia, help her with her school work and of course ensure, she takes her medicines.

She have been living just fine, gradually forgetting her past, even though she still wants them to pay for what they did to her, but having a family, especially a child to care for, made her forget her worries most times.

Everything was going so well, until Gordon passed her an invitation.

It is to a high-profile Gala.

Only the elites of the society are invited.

"I will like you to accompany me to this particular gala". Gordon says.

"But you don't like attending events in person". Ce Amelia's tiny innocent voice.

He smiled knowingly, looking at Rosaline's pale, beautiful face.

He didn't wait for her to ask him any questions, he quickly piqued her interest.

"I need you to attend with me, so you can watch Steven and Sandra, receive their first blow to down fall".

As soon as she heard that last part. Her eyes widened in expectation.

She paused, smiling for a long time, then looked up at him and whispered.

"I can't wait".

On the day of the gala, Gordon hand picked a beautiful, classy sea green ball gown that would stand out from what every other person would be wearing.

Most especially to match her green eyes.

"I would love to go too".

Amelia cried and Gordon approved.

Gordon personally drove them.

He was about to get down, from the car and walk his family into his reserved seat,  when his personal assistant. Joe, called him to tell him about an emergency that needed his quick attention.

"Can't I come later? He asked, looking really angry.

He didn't want to leave them just like that.

He knows what was out there.

"Daddy, do you have to go now? Amelia asked. Gordon held her cheek and spoke into her face.

"I promise I will be back, as soon as I can". Rosaline also looked scared, but she didn't want to show it.

This was pay back, she cannot let anyone see her fears, nor her tears, she just needs to be bold and strong.

Gordon had done a lot for her already.

She had never thought there was hope for her, but he had given her hope, that she didn't merit.

She will see Steven Audrey today, all she needs from her nerves is to stay calm and not give her away.

Gordon turned to Rosaline.

He could see the fear in her eyes.

She hasn't been out of  the house since they got married.

This is possibly, her first gala ever.

He should be with her. He shouldn't leave her like this, but his phone kept buzzing.

The issue wasn't something Joe could handle, else he wouldn't be calling him non-stop.

He isn't the one who attends social gatherings like, simply because he doesn't want people to know him, but he is attending this particular one,  just to see the face of Steven Audrey and Sandra.

"Are you sure you can handle yourself in there without me? Or should I just take you back to the office with me , so that we can come back later?

Rosaline refused immediately.

She didn't want him thinking she couldn't handle one gathering on her own.

"Don't worry, I will be fine". She says and steps out elegantly, holding Amelia firmly.

"Joe, this has better be worth it". He says as he drove off.

Rosaline had barely entered, that the security stopped her.

"Please ma'am, your invitation". Rosaline checked her side, where her handbag should have been, but it wasn't there.

She had left her handbag in the car, when she walked out in a hurry, trying to prove that she could handle herself without Gordon.

"I think you left it in Dad's car". Came Amelia's tiny innocent voice, but the security quickly cut in.

"I know your type. You hear of elites gatherings and you plan to bring a child in to beg. You better leave, before I embarrass you and finally get you arrested, I promise you, even your child will be arrested".

Amelia was even more confident than Rosaline, for she spoke up immediately.

"My dad is a no nonsense man, you really don't want to mess with him".

The security guard pushed her aside and screamed at them, bringing the attention of others to them.

Rosaline rushed to help her up, screaming at the guard to back off.

"Isn't that Rosaline? A familiar voice asked.

"It is her,  and she is with a child? Came another familiar voice.

These voices are not the voices she would like to hear in a situation like this, with so many strange faces on her.

Rosaline pulls Amelia closer, protectively, then she turned to face her enemies.

"What are you doing here, Rosaline? Asked Steven Audrey. Can't stop chasinge around?

Rosaline chuckles, then hissed.

"I could ask you  same thing. What could a low life like you, be doing at  a grand party such as this? Rosaline responded with a smirk.

Steven had never heard nor seen her speak this way, he was taken back, but Sandra always acting like she owns the stage.

"Oh Rosaline! So you didn't die with your half kidney huh? She asked mockingly. She has always known that whenever she mentions it or reminds her, of her sacrifice to a man who didn't value it, she would get hysterical, but Rosaline didn't even flinch, she heaved a sigh, and took a step forward.

"My mother used to tell me to be kind and share with the needy. No matter how they repay your kindness, know it that you shared with someone in need, and that is what I did with Steven, just the same way I gave you my used clothes, and underwears when you didn't have any". The crowd that had gathered booed. Sandra got really angry, she fiercely approached Rosaline, and pushed her so hard, making sure, her hands touched her wounded area. Rosaline landed on the floor, on her side. Amelia rushed to get her. Amelia knew she needed to call her daddy, else, they may get hurt.

So she dialed her daddy's number, with her digital watch.

Gordon picked it once.

"Daddy please come. Some very bad people here, are bullying mum".
