CHAPTER TWO

Drenched in rain and tears running down her cheeks as she stood at the edge of the bridge as she stared at the water below her was what Miho was doing.

A stone suddenly flew right past her into the water. It first jumped three times on the water's surface before sinking inside the deep, blue sea water.

She slowly turned her face behind her and that was when she saw a tall man who was in his early twenties throwing stones inside the sea. He too was drenched in rain in such a way that he's soaking wet hair had covered his right eye.

"It's not safe around here" he said placing his hands back inside his pant's pocket.

There was something sad and hallow in him which Miho couldn't ignore.

"But if you don't value your life you can stick around" he said again.

Before Miho could say a word he was already walking away into the fog. Even if she was ready to die but he was not going to take her chances especially after being warned by a weird looking stranger.

"Wait up!" her big mouth shouted without her realizing it.

The weird looking man stopped.

"Are you going to stand there or what? He asked.

Miho picked up her bag pack which was lying near some pile of metals and ran toward him with hesitation.

They walked together without saying a word to each other.

Miho secretly watched the strange man near her who was chewing a match stick.

The tattoo on his neck caught Miho's attention. She had heard the rumors of the men who lived in the Wrecked-street who had tattoos.

She had once heard her big brother talking to her father about how dangerous they were. They had said that they had once hijacked one of the Wen property trucks which was delivering goods to the Mega City.

"Do you want anything to eat?" he finally asked.

Miho shook her head 'No'.

"Your loss," the strange man said.

"Are you threatening me?!" snapped Miho with tears gathered in her eyes.

"Of course not" replied the strange man politely. "I was trying to make a joke."

"Well it is not funny especially for a woman walking with a weird looking stranger who claims to be making jokes" Miho sharply said.

"What is wrong with you bitch?!" snapped the strange man. "Is that how your parents taught you to talk to people?!"

Miho sobbed and tears ran down her cheeks.

"Shit" he said between his teeth before running away from her.

Miho got on her knees on the wet tar road which had potholes as she cried even more with her bruised hands covering her face.

Even after the strange man had turned the Mill building he could still hear Miho's cry.

He stopped and leaned against the wall with his eyes closed. He couldn't leave a woman in a street he also knew was not safe, not safe even for a man.

"Woman" he said between his teeth.

He then walked back to her as he helped her up.

"Come on, let go" he said looking pissed off.

Miho got up and followed him as she kept pulling back her snort and wiping her tears with her hands.
