"Don’t touch me. I’ll handle it myself, and then I’m out. Now, are you driving me or not?"

"Victoria, please, just forgive me."

"Forgive you? Are you driving, or should I hail a cab?"

Silence.

I slammed the door and jabbed the elevator button.

He stepped in behind me.

"Look, I’m sorry, I never meant to hurt you."

"Using me? Go on, enlighten me."

"You’re pissed. Can we talk about this later?"

"No. I’m gone tomorrow. This is it."

Victoria’s POVWe walked into the hotel lobby; his suit jacket draped over my shoulders.Makarius chuckled."You find that funny?" I asked, smiling."Yeah, I do," he said as the elevator doors closed. He kissed my neck, his hand sliding under my dress. The doors opened, and an older couple stepped in, glancing at us sideways.Makarius pulled me close to his chest. The couple got out a few floors later, leaving us alone again. He carried me to the room and opened the door. The sweet scent of roses filled the air, mixing with soft vanilla from the candles. The gentle light made the deep red roses stand out. Everything was set up to feel intimate and magical, leaving me breathless. The tub was ready. I undressed and got in, and he joined me. My body relaxed as his gentle hands touched me."You’re so beautiful," he whispered.I took his hand and brought it to my face. "Makarius..."He stood up and grabbed towels, wrapping one around me and one around himself. Then he carried me to bed.A

"The baby could come any minute.""Makarius, I need to make sure everything is finished."The conference room was packed. He helped me into a chair."Thank you all for coming. This is it. Now we’ll see if all our hard work paid off.""Doxon, please go ahead."He stood up and clicked to the first slide. The room went completely silent. I could tell everyone was trying to process the numbers.I caught Doxon's eye, and he smiled at me."Oh my," I said, covering my mouth. Makarius started laughing, and then the whole room burst into cheers."Yeah, not only did we sell out, but we have orders to fill for the next three months," Doxon said. "Please give a round of applause to Ms. Apian."I shook my head. When they stopped. I looked around. You all, together, made this a reality—also, a huge thank you to Mr. Lance for believing in my ideas. I felt pain surging through me. "Makarius," I managed to s

Makarius’s POVMy eyelids felt heavy, and my head throbbed. Suddenly, I caught a scent I didn’t recognize.I turned my head and saw a blonde woman lying naked next to me. My heart skipped a beat, and a cold sweat broke out on my forehead. No way, I thought, this can’t be real. A wave of shock coursed through my body as fear and confusion battled within me. What happened last night? The scent of unfamiliar perfume mingled with dread as I struggled to piece together the fragments of my memory.I sat up and put my feet on the floor. When I looked again, the woman was still there.Who the fuck are you? I shouted. The woman sat up quickly. The sheet slipped off, exposing her upper body.Just when I thought things couldn’t get worse, the door opened, and Balthazar stood there, blinking at me.I started to explain, but he closed the door before I could finish.A surge of panic gripped me as I turned back to the woman. My thoughts were racing, and everything felt surreal. What if I never lear

  • TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE LUNA   This won't happen again

Victoria’s POVThe harsh glare of the hospital lights stung my eyes as I struggled to open them, a sharp reminder of where I was. The steady beep of the heart monitor echoed in the background, grounding me in the present.Drystan was on the phone.Oh, she’s awake, I’ll put you on video.Victoria, Makarius said, how are you, my love?My head hurts.I will come tomorrow, the doctor said you have a mild concussion, and the baby is fine.Makarius, you don’t have to come. It wasn’t just a fear; it was a haunting possibility that I needed to push aside for now.His grip tightened on t

Makarius walked into the bedroom, already dressed. Why are you up so early? I asked, still half asleep.Victoria, I need to go back and start rebuilding before winter comes. Balthazar has already hired a company. I knew we had been through so much already.Do I question my dad about how he's affording this or check on Tatra, my horse? In that moment, Tatra's safety pulled at my heartstrings. Wait, is my horse okay?I wondered how he had so much money. Then I stood up. Wait, is my horse okay?"Yeah, but he ran away. I'll try to find him," Makarius said. "You need to eat, and..."I kissed him. Then he pulled me into his arms. "It's already hard for me to leave, Victoria," he said, his voice trailing off, a shadow of hesitation crossing his features. "Take care of our boy.""Wait, Pirate, is staying. I need him. Please."Makarius stared at me, his voice carrying the same calm assurance as before. "Fine, and you can count on us talking every day. I promise. We'll keep the pregnancy to our

Victoria’s POV"Victoria, how are you?" Sienna smiled as she walked in.I didn’t answer. I just ignored her, feeling a mix of anger and betrayal simmer beneath my calm exterior. My heart pounded with indignation, but I refused to let her see how much her presence rattled me. Instead, I focused on keeping my composure, determined not to give her the satisfaction of knowing she had gotten under my skin."Drystan is mine, bitch," she said."There you are, Sienna. I was wondering when the bitch in you would come out."She laughed, then showed me her phone."What am I looking at?" I got closer and saw she had taken pictures of Drystan hugging me. "He’s just someone I know, Sienna. Chill. I’m married.""Your husband just looked at it," Sienna said, laughing.I walked out of the bathroom and barely made it to the end of the hallway before Makarius came toward me, looking angry."Victoria, what is this about?" He showed me the pictures. It's not what it looks like. He hugged me. I froze. I ha
