ADRIAN

“Boss... what should we do with him?” Lucas my right-hand man asked...

“Where did you find him?”

“He almost got hit by our car when we were on night parole and he was bleeding profusely so Malachi suggested we bring him in... find out where he’s from and also find out if he has a criminal background...or the enemy we’ve been searching for perhaps...”

“Remove the bag over his head...let me see his face...”

“Ok sir...”

I took a drag of my cigar while he takes off the bag from the stranger’s head...I was surprised to see it was Theo... my student...I didn’t need him to know I was part of the most dangerous mafia group in the city...Crimson pact so it’s best he doesn’t know about all of this, the business or my personal life

“You know him boss?”

I would have said yes but for his safety... I didn’t trust anyone around me so claiming I knew him may lead him right into the wrong net... “No... treat his wounds and give him some sedatives that will last morning then when he’s conscious take him to school...in the car... but don’t speak a word to him...even if he asks”

“How do you know he’s a student... I already ran a background check on him...” I lied... “I’ll send you the location at where you should drop him off”

“Ok boss...what about our rival? The one you went under cover as a professor to find... any information on him?”

“No... not yet...but I have an idea on how to fish him out...”

“How boss?”

“We’ll spread out advertisements for my company...”

“Isn’t that too risky boss?”

“No... Everyone would know it’s just a regular jewellery company...everyone... except him... the one we’re trying to track down... the job offer is the bait...so in his mind he would probably think that’s the closest way to get to our underground factory where all the gold is being sold out to companies that aren’t under the raider... It’s the best catch I see fit...”

“Are you sure it will work sir?”

“Yes... it certainly will... I’m positive about it”

“Ok boss...”

“I’ll be on my way home...don’t forget to drop him off at the location”

“Sure, thing boss...” Lucas assured before I left to my car and drove off in my car...

My house wasn’t too far down the road...the street was quite...few minutes later I was parked in front of my building... The lights upstairs we’re still lit up, that means Blake had some friends over particularly girls most of the time... and so late at night... I checked the time on my watch...few minutes to 12...

I stepped outside my car and shut the door...I’m sure he heard the sound of the car door closing because some seconds later the lights in his room were suddenly turned off...

I didn’t even bother going up to his room... Our discussion will still end up in one of us sleeping angry... it has always been that way since his mum left to pursue her dreams as a surgeon... leaving him with my... uncle... babysitter...you name it...

If he isn’t pranking someone...He’s probably bullying some poor kid...if not that... then he’s throwing a party in his room that never ends till late at night.

He doesn’t know about my company...Crimson...the gold smugglers...or anything about my personal life, I like to keep it that way...I promised his mum I’d keep him safe for as long as she’s away...it’s been really though because he never listens to any warnings, I give him.

I locked the car doors and walked up to my room...dark... just the way I liked it... I didn’t have anything to keep me awake so i just went to bed...

THEO

I woke up to the sound of engines wailing... my head still hurts from the bottle hit last night...I opened my eyes slowly and everything still felt like a haze... still blurry... not only because I didn’t have my glasses on but also because my eyes felt a bit heavy... there were two men seated in the front seat of the car... they never spoke to each other during the drive....

“Who are you? Where are you taking me?”

None of them replied... the driver just kept on hitting the gas and going at immense speed that made me scared for my life... though we were on a familiar street but something inside of me made me think they may decide to take another route... and who knows...they might be kidnappers

“Who are you guys? Are you kidnappers? I don’t have anything on me... My family isn’t rich... please where are you taking me...I’ll scream for help”

“Boy...” One of the men in front finally spoke up “Don’t you ever shut up...If I had things under my control... I would have just dropped you off outside head quarters... so for God’s sake shut it would you?”

“Who sent you?”

“None of your business... all you need to be happy about right now, is that you’re safe and not dead...be thankful for that at least and stop asking me questions because there’s no answer for them...”

“Where are you guys taking me?”

“We’ll drop you off at the location our boss sent us so for the mean time shut it so you can get there without arguments...”

“But...”

“Not another word...” He snaps and turns to me with his gun in his hand and pointing to my head...

“Fine... I’ll be quiet... please don’t shoot me...”

“Good...You’re finally understanding”

Few minutes later we arrived another familiar street...close to my school building... the car came to a stop then the man sitting to my left opened the door and stepped out first then let me out of the car... he got back into the car, and they drove without any word more...

I walked slowly towards the school building holding on to my bag tightly...when I finally walked past the gates, everyone’s eyes were fixated on me...looking at my ragged clothes...blood stained, and mud stained but none of them said anything to me I touched my head to feel the wound...but I hadn’t noticed earlier that my wounds have been treated.

I walked past them quickly...luckily that son of a bitch wasn’t in school yet...I went to my locker...when I opened it, there was a new pair of uniform inside... I looked around for anyone who might have dropped a uniform in my locker, but no one looked suspicious, so I just hurriedly took the clothes to the rest room then changed into the new uniform.

I was in such a hurry to get to the first class...with no glasses, everything still felt so blurry...I flung the door open unaware someone was standing outside... I bumped into him...he was way taller than me and had a pretty good physique.

‎THEO‎"I'm so sorry. I didn't see anything... I was about to leave." I begged with a shaky voice as the hand gripping my shoulder tightened... "Please..."‎I didn't even know who I was begging. I had only come here because of work; I wasn't supposed to be anywhere near whatever was happening behind those boxes, but now I was trapped with no idea what would happen to me...then I heard footsteps approaching...slow and heavy, growing louder with every step as my heart began pounding when a familiar voice finally broke through the silence...‎"Who is the intruder?" That voice...No. It couldn't be...I swallowed hard and slowly turned my head...‎"Professor Adrian?" I raised my head slowly to see the boss's face properly then the hand on my shoulder tightened again...‎What was Professor Adrian doing here? This wasn't his office or the company...‎The place looked nothing like anywhere I would see him... and the men surrounding me certainly didn't look like employees...‎They looked danger

‎‎THEO‎"What was all that about? Was he watching me or something?" I wondered as I walked back toward my desk, still thinking about the strange way my boss had been acting...just because I talked to a girl‎I dropped into my chair and glanced at the design brief sitting beside my laptop...‎"And these designs have to be ready by tomorrow?" I muttered. "What exactly am I supposed to come up with by tomorrow?" I murmured to myself as I stared at the blank screen for several seconds before sighing.‎There was no point complaining about it. If I wanted to prove that I deserved the job, I had to get the work done....‎I opened the files I'd been given and started working through the design piece by piece. At first, everything looked impossible... Every idea I came up with seemed either too simple or completely different from what had been requested.‎"Come on, Theo," I whispered. "Think."‎I sketched a few rough concepts, deleted them, then started again.‎"This one is terrible...Okay...

  • TOXIC : MY MAFIA PROFESSOR    CHAPTER 20-HE’S ALWAYS WATCHING ME

THEOI didn't understand what could possibly be so important that he had to call me without any warning, and the urgency in his voice made me feel like I had done something wrong...had I messed something up or did someone probably lay a complain against me?My thoughts were spiralling all over and I couldn’t place a finger on one final thing that could have made him call me so urgently ...I stopped in front of his office door and took a deep breath.“Okay, Theo. Calm down.” I murmured to myself as I gently knocked on his office door...“Come in.” He answered almost immediately...I slowly opened the door and stepped inside.Adrian was sitting behind his desk, staring at his laptop...he didn't even bother to look up at me as I walked in...I stood there for a couple of minutes expecting him to state the reason of his urgency but still nothing from him...I instinctively clenched onto the door handle and decided to speak up... “Sir?” I murmured beneath my breath but there was still no repl

THEO“Traitor... He didn’t even think about talking his boss out of this decision he made” ...I looked back at Professor Adrian's closed office door...maybe I should go back in there...should I knock...maybe I should explain that he had clearly made a mistake...I just took one step toward the office then stopped.No...This was my first real job...I couldn't walk back in there five minutes after being hired and tell my boss I couldn't do it...that would probably be the fastest way to lose the job...I sighed as I dragged my chair from under the table where I was supposed to sit...“Okay, Theo.” I murmured as I straightened my shirt... “You can do this.” Although I said it with so much confidence, but I wasn't convincing to myself at the very least...I walked over to the table Malachi had arranged for me... a computer sat neatly in front of the chair, along with a notebook, a few pens and a small stack of documents.I pulled out the chair and sat down...stared at the computer for a cou

THEO I rushed towards the big door at the company when I finally got there...still trying to catch my breath...Today was officially my first day at work and Malachi had already called me twice at school reminding me not to be late...I quickly adjusted the strap of my bag and looked around the large reception area...Everyone were on their various laptops typing like their lives depended on it... “Wow” I murmured under my breath...Employees moved around quickly, carrying files and talking among themselves. I swallowed hard and headed toward the staircaseJust as I reached the first step, I heard a familiar voice behind me... “Theo.” I turned around immediately and Malachi was standing a few feet away.“Good evening Sir...” I greeted.“You're already heading upstairs?”“Yes, sir. I thought I was supposed to report upstairs.”“You are.” He nodded toward the stairs. “Come on. I'll show you your desk.”“Oh. Thank you, sir.” I said as I followed him upstairs quietly...for some reason... e

THEO“Theo?” I heard my name being called, but I didn't respond...I was lost in thought...thinking about what I had just witnessed in the dream...was it dejavu? What the heck was all that “Theo?...Theo!” I suddenly jolted awake...I blinked several times and looked around the cafeteria, completely disoriented...a girl standing beside my table stared at me with a worried expression...“Theo, are you okay?” She asked as I quickly sat up straighter before looking up at her...“Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine.”She raised an eyebrow...“You don't look fine”“I said I'm fine.” I lashed out unintendedly...I could tell she was scared because she immediately took a small step back...“Okay… I was just asking.”“I’m truly sorry...I didn’t mean to shout at you...” I apologized as I rubbed my face and looked down at my empty plate.I couldn't believe what I had just dreamed about some minutes ago...Why the heck had I dreamed about Professor Adrian like that? It made absolutely no sense...“Nope. I'm not thi
