Chapter 14

Fortune enjoyed the festive holiday and felt like it was  better than the previous festive holidays she had. Enjoying her birthday with her family was the best part for her, She also had an official boyfriend who understood her and was patient all the time. She felt lucky to find such a guy and fortune could possibly say that she started to like him. Furthermore, she had time to go out with her best friend Asia and took her young sister who would graduate from high school in three years time as well. Not wanting negative energy around her, she avoided her cousin as much as she could. In addition to all this, she would see Brandon once in a while and everything felt right with fortune. Nevertheless, the holidays came to an end and it was time to go back to school. Asia made an appointment with her best friend and both agreed that they would go back together. Although everyone felt sad that fortune would be going back to school, Lisa looked at her sister who was packing her luggage, it was evident that she was extremely sad. "Lisa, do you still talk to Lily?". Fortune thought of a way to cheer up the little girl and asked her about her best friend. "yes, we still talk" Lisa responded cheerfully and began telling her sister stories about their friendship.                                     According to the arrangement she made with Asia, she was suppose to wait for her to come home and pick her up, then they would proceed to school. Fortune felt a little impatient waiting for her friend to arrive. "dear please have some patience, I'm sure Asia will be here soon" Fortune's mother spoke seeing how impatient her daughter was. At this time, Fortune's phone rang and she rushed over thinking it was Asia calling, surprisingly, it was Brandon. " hello, how are you? will you be going to school today or you will go tomorrow?" Brandon asked. "actually I'm waiting for Asia to come and pick me up from home, then we will proceed to school" fortune replied. "oh okay then, I wanted to pick you up but I guess it's fine".  "yes it's alright, don't worry I will manage thanks" fortune responded with a smile. She hung up the call and immediately called this crazy friend of hers. The phone rang for a few seconds before it was answered "Fortune I will be there in ten minutes please don't be angry" Asia said this knowing how impatient her friend was. Fortune hung up without saying a word, she detested waiting the most cause she was never a patient person. She looked at her watch, knowing how Asia was, she decided to wait for about 20-30 minutes and sat on the couch browsing through some news on the internet, she didn't know how long it had been she heard footsteps approaching her and felt lazy to lift up her head thinking it was probably her sister or mum. "Fortune please forgive me for being late" she heard Asia's pitiful voice and just sighed. "fine let's get moving" Fortune said bye to everyone home and told her parents to take care of themselves then left.         Nevertheless, despite arriving school a little late, they found their apartment clean and tidy waiting for them. They didn't want to cook so they bought food on their way hence making it easier for them.

Early the next day, Asia and fortune prepared themselves for class in their respective rooms. They had their breakfast and went straight to class.
