Chapter 151

Asia who was seated beside fortune clearly heard the dialogue between the two and was utterly shocked. "fortune I can take anything but this is too much. You must not allow him talk to you in such a way? just because you love him, doesn't mean he should treat you like trash" Asia said in a sharp tone. Fortune felt her heartstrings tighten. "it's alright Asia, he probably has so many things to handle" fortune said, defending Alex. Asia was shocked, is it that love has turned fortune into a complete blind fool such that she can't see the handwriting on the war?

Asia thought to herself. So this means if I tell her that Alex is in town, she won't believe me. Asia felt helpless. "fortune, I am your best friend and I won't lie to you. Alex is not the right person for you" Asia calmly said. Fortune shook her head in denial "said please don't start. there is no right person, no one is perfect. Just because he is busy, it doesn't mean I should blow things out of proportion, I must understand him" fortune calmly explained. "fortune there is nothing to understand here, absolutely nothing!

That was a bunch of baloney he told you. I am not asking you to have a perfect boyfriend, of course, we all know there is no perfect person but what I am saying is that he is not the one for you and I won't allow anyone to maltreat or torture you emotionally" Asia said firmly. "Asia, please just try and understand.  He must be busy or something...Asia stood up and walked away in a foot of anger, not wanting to hear fortunes words. Fortune knew that her best friend was angry, she sighed helplessly not knowing what to do.

Asia, how do I tell you that my whole being feels like it solely depends on Alex? my mind is always thinking about him and my heart beats for him. Every time I think of him, and the memories we shared, I don't know, I feel loved and the manner in which I miss him now is indescribable. Asia on the other side was on the phone with Chris " baby this guy just told fortune that he is not in the city. Why don't you go to the law firm and see if he is there?" Asia suggested. Chris on the other end nodded in agreement "yes, let me do that". Asia smiled then hung up. 

Meanwhile,  Alex and Kim, were at the airport, waiting to board their flight to England. "darling, we will be out for a month and will only be back a few days before our engagement, won't this affect your work in any way?" Kim suddenly asked Alex who stood beside him. Alex smiled "well, I asked for a two full months' leave. Everything is fine, don't worry" Alex casually responded. On the other end, Chris went to the law firm and didn't see Alex around "excuse me, sir, are you looking for someone?" Chris looked at the young lady in front of him and smiled.

"I was looking for attorney Alex, is he in?" Chris politely asked. "oh, sir, I am sorry you just missed him, he came to ask for leave earlier and won't be available for some time..I can help you get another attorney if you like" Chris smiled and shook his head "no, don't worry that won't be necessary. I just wanted to thank him for the help he rendered. But seeing that he is not around, I will take my leave now" Chris finished saying then walked away. He stood in the parking lot near his car and dialed Asia's number and the call soon connected.

"Hey, Alex just asked for leave at work and left. I honestly don't know where he is now. Bottom line is that he has been lying to fortune all this while. Alex who was still at the airport took out his phone and sent fortune a message. "hey, I will be traveling out of the country for some time, take care of yourself, love you", fortune was stunned reading the message that Alex sent her. She was overjoyed for the fact that he considered her and informed her of his departure. This strangely made fortune happy.Fortune smiled brightly and was in a good mood.

"damn that liar! why lie to fortune in such a way? his so heartless" Asia scolded. Chris sighed "well it is what it is. I don't know if telling fortune about this will make her believe us". Asia shook her head "she won't believe us. maybe with time she will see him for who he is, I will keep advising her" Asia said helplessly. She stood up and went to fortunes room to see if she was fine and was shocked upon seeing her smile. "hmm fortune, what happened? why do you look so happy? did you win a lottery?" Asia asked as she sat beside her friend. 

"well, Alex just sent me a message saying that he will be traveling out of the country and that he loves me, he also asked me to take care of myself" fortune said as she slightly blushed. Asia was utterly shocked, what kind of a game is this guy playing? she thought to herself. "Asia, Asia did you even hear me?" fortune asked Asia who seemed as if she was in deep thought, but in actual sense, Asia was shocked. "oh, oh I understand, well okay, but fortune, to be honest with you, Alex is not the one for you. I hope you don't realize this when it's too late. 

A guy that never calls nor does he message you for more than two weeks. Do you think he cares?" Asia tried to make a point but it was hopeless, fortune was smiling and thinking about who knows what. Asia felt irritated, she stood up and lazily walked to her room seeing that fortune was completely absent-minded. Fortune was deep in thoughts, imagining how beautiful her life would be with Alex beside her, the number of children they would have, all these thoughts brought light to fortune's life. It seemed as if things were back to normal.
