CHAPTER 11

Michael

Before midday, I left the cabin with Mrs Smith. At first, she was adamant about staying.

" I'm going to sit here and wait for my daughter. She went for a run, she should be back soon." She kept on saying whenever I tried to cajole here to leave with me.

Fortunately, she eventually agreed to leave. Considering her current state of health, I decided to drive. I was grateful my mom was hell bent on teaching me and Richardson to drive at age fifteen.

Soon enough, we arrived back at the Smith's.

Jack was the first to run out of the house to embrace his mother. He was surprised when Mrs Smith just pushed him off of her and walked into the house like a zombie.

" Is my mother okay why did she push me away like that?" He asked me with tears in his eyes.

Unsure of what to say, I only carried him up and embraced him for a really long time.

" Good day sir. Is everything alright with Mrs Smith?" The babysitter greeted with her British accent.

" Yeah, just a little stressed. Take the kid in
