CHAPTER 28

Writer's POV

Derrick angrily left the healer's.

He shifted into his wolf form and ran all the way to the mansion.

He didn't bother shifting back once he arrived, he just went up to his chambers.

Once he reached the stairs, he paused. He felt a familiar presence. He smelled orange and peaches.

His mate! That was her scent. He had missed her so much. She was a turned wolf. He let her visit her human parents whenever she missed them but she usually overused this privilege.

She had been gone for more than two blue moons without calling nor texting. She went when she liked and returned when she pleased. Nevertheless, Derrick still liked her so, he never bothered much. All that mattered to him was she returned.

He shifted back to his human form when he got to the hall. He could see rose petals leading to the room. Smiling, he followed them.
