Chapter 1

Author: Celebrant
Before my son took his last breath, he told me he wanted to go see the Barnum & Bailey Circus with his father. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't find my husband. I could only watch helplessly as my son passed away with unfinished dreams.

After handling his funeral, I returned home. That was when I saw Alpha Leonardo, return to the castle with Isabella in his arms.

Isabella leaned weakly against him and purred softly, "Leo, thank you for letting me stay at your place and taking me to the doctor. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have made it to the doctor with such a severe leg injury."

Leonardo gazed at her indulgently and replied gently, "We're a family. Don't worry about it."

I watched as Leonardo carried Isabella into the guest room and then knelt in front of her, carefully inspecting her injury. Bitterness welled up in me as I took in the sight.

I remembered how I once cried in pain after a bad fall during a hike. However, all Leonardo did was cast me a cold glance and said, "You're a Beta. You heal fast. This level of pain is nothing."

And then, he simply walked away.

He had completely forgotten the fact that I had been injured during the past battle, leaving my ability to regenerate even weaker than that of an Omega in the pack.

In the end, it was the old housekeeper who found someone to carry me to the hospital. Thinking about all of this, I felt my heart grow cold.

I went upstairs and started packing my luggage. As I looked at the beautiful dresses in my wardrobe—ones I had specially bought to wear for Leonardo—I fell into a daze.

Ever since we got together, his attitude toward me grew colder with each passing day. He had always said I was boring and lame, unlike other she-wolves who were beautiful and charming. But I wasn't like this in the beginning.

His endless indifference and neglect left me disappointed and hopeless. Over time, I became a dull, lifeless version of myself. As I turned to look at the children's room, a terrible pain gripped my heart.

Our son, Jack, was only five years old. He was meant to be the future heir of the Blood Moon Pack. He was a sweet, wonderful child, but he had to pass away with unfulfilled dreams.

All Jack wanted was to see the circus. However, Leonardo took Isabella to Rose Valley to admire the flowers instead, refusing to fulfill his own son's dying wish.

As I thought about it, the pain in my heart became unbearable, suffocating me. I grabbed my suitcase and went downstairs.

I noticed Leonardo was carrying Isabella in his arms, about to head upstairs. He walked right past me without even sparing me a glance.

"Leonardo, let's… go our separate ways."

I forced those words out, almost suggesting that we sever our mate bond. But just as those words reached the tip of my tongue, I realized that we hadn't even completed the marking ceremony!

Leonardo paused mid-step, then scoffed, "What now? Are you throwing another tantrum again? Every time you act up, I have to coax you.

"Aren't you tired of this? You know what, I'm done. I'm not going to entertain you this time." With that, he walked away without even turning back.

I knew he thought I was just throwing another tantrum, just like before when I had threatened to leave, hoping for even the slightest bit of affection from him.

However, this time, I meant it. Jack's death made me realize that I should never place my hopes on a man who didn't love me.

A month later, a drunk Leonardo barged into my villa. The moment he entered, he collapsed to his knees, sobbing uncontrollably."Alicia, I was wrong. I was so wrong. I only now realize what kind of person Isabella truly is. I was a fool to be deceived by her for so many years."Please, Alicia. Forgive me. I won't contact her ever again. I won't give her any resources anymore."I looked at Leonardo, but my heart felt nothing. I said coldly, "Whether you regret it or not has nothing to do with me.""But please forgive me! I've learned my lesson!" Leonardo crawled toward me on his knees, clutching the hem of my dress as he sobbed. "From now on, I will treat you well. I swear. Just say the word, and I'll do anything!"I looked at him and chuckled. "You want me to forgive you? Leonardo, do you not understand? Every time I see you, I think of Jack."His face drained of all color immediately. "I…"I pushed him aside coldly. "There's no way I'll ever forgive you unless you can bring Jac

Isabelle paled instantly. She had been so caught up in her own triumph that she had completely forgotten—the crystal pendant around my neck had a recording function.I amplified the sound, making sure everyone in the room heard the disgusting lies she had just told. Isabella's complexion turned ghostly white, and she clung desperately to Leonardo's hand."Leonardo, I… I admit it. I did lie to you, but it's because I love you so much! I was afraid that Alicia would steal you away, so I lied to make you stay."I only did it because I love you deeply. I'm scared of losing you. Leonardo, you can't blame me for that!"Leonardo stood there, dumbstruck. His eyes turned red. "So… it wasn't you who convinced your parents to save me back then?"Isabella's pale lips trembled, but she said nothing. That silence was an answer in itself.Leonardo suddenly looked as if he had aged ten years. Then, with a violent shove, he pushed Isabella away. She stumbled backward, falling straight onto the s

Isabella stepped in front of me, her eyes full of resentment. Clenching her jaw, she glared at me viciously."Alicia, why does everyone love you? Mom adored you. Now, even Leonardo is constantly circling around you. What makes you better than me?"Why am I always the one left behind? First, Mom chose you and abandoned me, and now Leonardo is doing the same!"Upon hearing this, I couldn't hold it in and burst into a fit of laughter. Back when Mom left, it was Isabella who chose to follow Dad to the neighboring pack to enjoy her status as a noble. And now, somehow, this was my fault?I met her gaze coldly and said, "Isabella, have you forgotten? You were the one who begged to go with Dad back then. Now, you're blaming me?"Isabella's face remained icy, her voice dripping with resentment. "I don't care who I'm with. What I hate is how everyone always chooses you, how they treat me like a joke!"I lost to you when it came to our parents, but I'll never let you take Leonardo from me!

That night, I attended the pack banquet. The main reason was to network and expand my resources. Now that I was running my own business, I had to start from scratch, and building connections was essential. Throughout the banquet, many people came over to greet me, and I responded with polite smiles.Just then, I noticed Leonardo, who was surrounded by a group of people, deep in conversation. Somehow, it was as if he had eyes in the back of his head. He managed to spot me through the crowd. The moment he saw me, he immediately pushed past the people around him and strode straight toward me."Alicia, I want to announce to everyone here that you are my true Luna."I stared at him coldly and yanked my hand free from his grasp. I said indifferently, "Please, I have no intention to be your Luna. I didn't come to this banquet for you."At that moment, a noble approached, hoping to strike up a conversation with me. Leonardo immediately wrapped an arm around my waist and introduced, "This

Leonardo's question sounded strange to me. Did he really think I would choose him over the businesses? Did he really believe I would still want to be with him?I frowned and nodded. "That's right. I want those businesses. I only want money."Leonardo's expression turned awkward at my words. He frowned, and then he said with a pained expression, "Alicia, back then… I misunderstood both you and your mother. I thought your mother only kept me in your household because she wanted to find someone to inherit your family's businesses."I carried that resentment in my heart, believing you had used me and burdened me with a responsibility I never asked for. Later, when your mom forced me to be with you, I felt like you had trapped me in this relationship, forcing me to work like a servant for your family."Then the Leonhart family found me and took me back. Back then, I merged all your family's businesses with theirs. Now that we're separating, untangling those assets would be complicated.

Leonardo grabbed the items and rushed out without hesitation. He went straight to the most powerful oracle in the pack. And the oracle used magic to verify the truth. The next morning, at the crack of dawn, he appeared at the villa's entrance and seized my hand. He looked haggard, with his face covered in stubble and his eyes bloodshot. He seemed exhausted.Clutching the hem of my dress, he sobbed softly. "Alicia, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have listened to Isabella and doubted Jack's lineage."Yesterday, I went back and found an old childhood photo of mine… Jack looked just like me when I was his age. He really was my son… "How could I have doubted him? How could I have been so cruel? I don't deserve to be a father. I deserve to die!" As he spoke, he raised his hand and slapped himself hard across the face. The force was so strong that blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. It was pathetic and laughable to see him behave like that.So now, wh
