Marry Me

"Long time no see Jason Bell"

"Seraphina Williams " Jason answered finally snapping out of his trance " To what do I owe the honour " 

" I'd love to say I came to catch up with you but I'm here for something else " Seraphina said as she took a seat crossing her legs elegantly 

" Go on " Jason said obviously intrigued 

" Well I want you to go out with me " 

"what ?! " 

Jason was obviously shocked , happy but still shocked 

" I don't mean like really date me ... I just mean like pretend to date me so I can get my parents off my back " Seraphina was trying to stay confident after all the worse that could happen was him saying no and then she'd just ask Aiden

Jason didn't know if he should be happy or perhaps amused , he'd been yearning for one woman for the last two years and God had just dumped her in his laps and he'd be damned if he didn't enjoy every bit of this beautiful gift , he sat back and relaxed utterly comfortable and completely in control of his surrounding , the confidence boost that always came whenever Seraphina was around him rushed through his veins and he felt more alive than he'd been in the last two years and then he opened his mouth to give an answer to her question 

" My answer is No " he said calmly with a smile 

Seraphina was utterly dissapointed but the shocking part was that she didn't know why she was so dissapointed but she still forced a smile " Well I can't say I didn't prepare for this outcome but saying I expected it would be untrue , I'll see you next time Jason I have to find a pretend boyfriend before my parents find out I'm in town and begin to send me on endless blind dates and with that said I better take my leave " picking up her bag she stood up from the couch and was about to walk out of the office when Jason said " Wait Seraphina"

'It's okay Jason I understand if you don't wanna do it and I assure you that it won't hurt our friendship in any way I'm sure you are pretty busy so I'll let you get back to work " 

" Let me finish Seraphina , I won't pretend to date you because that won't be enough , our parents will start planning engagement parties and setting a date for our wedding the moment they learn of our " relationship" and going through all that for nothing is just a lot of stress " as he spoke Jason walked towards her , turning Seraphina to face him he held her face and looked into her eyes " instead of all that why don't we just get married , instead of putting up with their constant nagging about wedding dates we can just get married for real  " 

"Huh?" 

"Marry me Seraphina " he whispered as he pulled her into his arms 

Laughing hard Seraphina looked at Jason " Marry you , are you kidding ? , How can I just marry you ?!" 

" I'm not joking " he said as he released her and returned to his seat . He was obviously hurt but he hid it well " It can be a contract wedding , just for a year. If we get married for about a year and get a divorce after you can just say you are too heart broken to get married and they probably won't bother you for a couple of years , I'd shut my nagging mother down and you would shut yours down as well and then we'd both be free " Jason concluded 

"How can you be so calm , is it just a business proposition to you ? " Seraphina asked out of curiosity and something else that she wasn't willing to admit to herself just yet 

Jason studied her face for a while before answering " You can think of it as whatever you want but to me it's a marriage proposal so what do you say Seraphina will you marry me ?" 

"Yes I will but I want a proper wedding and an engagement ring , the proposal isn't necessary as we just covered that stage " Seraphina said thoughtfully 

" Since you've started your needs then I'll state mine , we will fulfill our duties as a married couple and you will not see anyone else during our marriage and neither will I because I don't like to share what's mine  " 

Seraphina choked on her coffee when she heard him talk about " fulfilling their duties " , she wasn't someone who was stuck up in a fantasy of being a virgin until her wedding night but still the thought of sleeping with Jason sent shivers down her spine and they weren't the chilling ones they were the kind of shivers you felt when your body hummed with excitement 

"Do we really need to ... uhm.. have sex ?" she asked 

"No we don't have to 'have sex ' "he said mockingly " We just need to make love " 

Jason tried not to smile as he saw the complicated expression on her face " Your engagement ring will be delivered to you tomorrow , are there any jewels you like in particular ?"

"Surprise me" She said as turned her back on him and  walked out of his office on legs that were barely steady 

As soon as she left Jason immediately let out a breath he didn't know he was holding , part of him already expected her to refuse his proposition but he was so glad that she didn't  and now he had a whole year to make her fall in love with him ??! 

'What a treat , I really didn't expect something so wonderful to happen to me ' he thought as he laughed out loud 

Beau who was outside his office was shocked when she heard him laugh

'What exactly is wrong with Mr.Bell 'she wondered 'first he let a random woman into his office and now he's laughing ?' 

Beau didn't know if she should be frightened or happy , in her two years of working with Jason Bell she'd never heard him laugh , the highest she'd seen was a smile and it was a very sinister one at that , the kind of smile a predator revealed when closing in on their prey that was the only kind of smile he usually had .

Seraphina arrived home a few hours later to see Samira sleeping on the couch in the sitting room , she smiled lazily before going to kick her best friend off the couch 

" Wake up Mira !!" 

"urgh!! , what is it Seraphina can't you see that I'm asleep " Samira muttered before climbing the couch again shutting her eyes  .

kicking her off again probably wouldn't work , knowingS Samira she would just curl up on the floor and go back to sleep so she needed something shocking and then she remembered that she had news that would shock her system 

" Samira I'm getting married !" She yelled into her friend's ear

" What?!!!" Samira said as she woke up with a jolt

Seraphina chuckled as her friend lost her balance and landed on the floor with a loud thud " I knew that would wake you up " she said to an angry Samira who was glaring at her
