13: First Attraction

All my thoughts turned to mush when he pulled me into his lap and for the briefest minute, I couldn't process a thing.

When the enormity of what was happening dawned on me, I started squirming and clawing to get off his lap which proved to be an impossible task because even though he just had to hold my wrist with just his hand, I couldn't break free.

"You have to let me go," I told him, trying go sound as stern as possible and to ignore what I was feeling with being this close to him.

He didn't reply immediately and when I turned back to him, he seemed to be in some sort of physical distress with how his jaws were tightly clenched and his eyes were darker than normal.

What the... what's going on?

"Open up," he ordered gruffly, an edge to his voice and my core clenched as my brain interpreted what he just said in another context entirely.

"I'm not," I replied him, crossing my hands over my chest defiantly and when his eyes followed that movement, I noticed just how wrong
