Five Years LaterIvy“Again!” I shouted as I paced around the group training in hand-to-hand combat. I couldn’t even help the smile that crossed my face as I took in the groups, made of both men and women, as they threw punches, and kicks, and fought to take their partners down.“They look good,” my dad said, stopping me from continuing my pacing. “I think you’re possibly the best Capo we’ve ever had.”I shook my head. There was no way that was possible. He had been amazing and everyone knew that. I work hard to be half as great as he was. “I had a great teacher,” I tell him, bumping his shoulder with mine. “Aren't you supposed to be leaving for Italy?”“Heading to the airport,” he nodded, “wanted to say goodbye and remind you to…”“Call you if I need anything,” I finished for him. He always said the same thing. Even five years after I became Capo, I was still his little girl. “The only thing I need is for you and Mom to enjoy your trip and tell Aunt Lidia that I said hi and send her
"Congratulations Graduates!" The guest speaker said into the microphone as the crowd cheered. Rebecca smiled and hooted with her classmates in excitement. She was more than ready to get the rest of her life started. Turning away from the crowd, she rushed for the exit trying to beat the others out. She slid her diploma under her arm as she walked to the spot underneath her favorite tree. She had told her parents to meet her there. As she walked, she thought about the last six years and couldn't help but smile. It had been great. She had made some friends not a lot, but it was about quality, not quantity. She loved them and wouldn't change it for the world. "Bex," she heard someone shout. She looked around before seeing her green-eyed, beautiful best friend since high school, Joni, waving frantically from under the tree they had deemed theirs on the first day of freshman year. She laughed and shook her head at her over-dramatic ways that Rebecca couldn't live without and waving and t
Vincent rolled his eyes, listening to his cousin, Domenico and younger brother, Gio talk about the job they just finished, as he turned the knob to his father's office. Walking in he heard his father talking to Roco, his youngest brother. "I am proud of you son, for treating your brother's club as your own," his father said patting Roco on the shoulder. "Yes, little brother. You have been doing great things with my club," Vincent shook Roco's hand. Roco was dressed in a dark blue suit with a maroon tie. Vincent thought about laughing seeing as his brother only wore a suit when in their father presence. Everyone knew that he would leave the suit jacket in the front hall closest on his way out. His normal attire usually consisted of dark washed jeans and a button up with at least the top three buttons undone. But when you were around Francesco Bellandini, you dressed like he expected a responsible man to dress. "Thank you, brother. I'm glad you decided to trust me with this job." Roco
"I can't believe that you never told us you had the hookup, T," Joni shouted, pulling on the side of her black satin dress that stopped at the top of her thigh and had a little slit the sides were open showing a little side boob. Isaac told her he loved it so she wore it, but wasn't totally comfortable in it. One of the things she loved about him most is that he worked hard to push her out of her comfort zone. She would willingly admit that she was a spoiled rich girl when they met. She projected all the confidence in the world, but deep down didn't really have any. Isaac had changed that. The look in his eye when she had shown him the dress on her, had given her the boost of confidence to leave the house in it. But now she thought about how others may be looking at her the same way. "You look amazing and you are safe with me," Isaac whispered as if he had read her mind. She stopped fidgeting and smiled at him. Rebecca watched their interaction and sent her a wink when she looked at
Vincent was almost finished with all the paperwork when Dominico and Gio walked into his office. He looked up at them before looking back at the contract he was currently reading. "Is everything good?" He asked without looking back up."A little problem but, it was already dealt with," Dominico said, he and Gio walking over to the big window that overlooked the club. Vincent nodded realizing it would be the same problem Roco already told him about."There are a ton of hot girls here tonight," Gio said before whistling."Agreed, but that's every night boys," Roco said standing and walking over to look with them."Will you idiota's shut up," Vincent barked at them rolling his eyes. He knew the smug look on Roco's face was mostly because he was proud of the beautiful women, he had brought into the club with his policies on making sure they were able to feel safe drinking and dancing here without any chance of being unwantedly harassed. Roco had made it his priority when one of his friend
Rebecca, Tobin, and Rosalina had decided to leave. Rebecca was not looking forward to her hangover the next day, but at the moment was too drunk to really worry about that. As they got to the bottom of the stairs, she bumped into a tall man with tan skin and dark curly hair that went to his shoulders. Do all the beautiful people come to this club? She thought to herself, causing herself to laugh a little."Hello, Bella," the man said, looking down at her. She blushed at the sound of his accent. Rebecca looked at Rosalina and they both giggled. Tobin rolled his eyes in annoyance and let out a heavy sigh before crossing his arms over his chest. "What is your name or should I continue to call you Bella?" the man said, causing Rebecca to blush more than she already was."Rebecca," she answered him before looking down at her feet. She then shot her eyes up to his as she felt him slip an arm around her waist."Care to go have a drink somewhere quieter so we can get to know one another?" He
Vincent pulled up and parked in front of Rebecca's apartment. He sighed thinking about the fact that she hadn't woken up the entire drive and he was more than likely, going to have to carry her the whole way to her apartment. He opened his door and ran around to the other side. Opening the door, he barely caught her head before it hit the sidewalk. He took a deep breath as he lifted her head up before picking her up bridal style. Kicking the door closed and cringing at the thought of seeing a dent in it when he came back down, he made his way towards the door of the building. He nodded his head to the doorman who opened and held the door for him with a confused smile. Probably the state she was in but the man didn't question him.Vincent had to push the elevator button with his elbow as he adjusted Rebecca in his arms. She wasn't really that heavy looking but she was dead weight from drinking too much and Vincent would bet everything he owned that to Enzo who he was a thousand percent
When Rebecca woke up the next morning, she had a horrible headache. Sitting up, she felt herself spinning and laid back down immediately. "How did I get home?" she said out loud to herself. Sighing, she forced herself to sit up again. As she threw her feet over the side of the bed, she noticed there was a bottle of water. "Thank God for Joni," she thought as she reached for it. As she did, she noticed a few pills sitting beside the bottle. Throwing them in her mouth, she chugged the water until it was gone.Taking a deep breath, she realized that she felt like she might vomit. She got up and sprinted towards the bathroom. Landing in front of the toilet, she took several deep breaths before realizing it was a false alarm. Standing back up, she walked to the sink. Splashing cool water on her face, always helped with her hangovers. She was never a big drinker, but she had a few nights with Joni that left her head pounding and her stomach wanting something greasy. When she was finally fee
