Heart Break

LILITH’S POV

I went to sleep the moment car drove out of my pack, now all of my ties with this pack has been cut because none of them would be interested to know about my wellbeing nor they will ever contact to me inclusing my parents, hence I am now officially not a member of Greenwood pack anymore. It was enough to release my mind from all the stressful thoughts that I had carried on my brain all these years and I did not realize when I drifted off to sleep.

Don’t know how long I had slept but when I woke up, sky was getting brighter.

‘I slept for whole night’ I muttered quietly, Irene did not respond, she might be sleeping now after all staying at pack house with my parents was a toxic and we both have got freedom from the toxicity. What made me surprised was that we haven’t reached to their pack yet, I couldn't resist but to ask to them, no one to particularly. I know I should have directly asked from Caleb, my mate but he was not beside me when I opened my eyes. May be they have stopped in the mid for any reason and changed their positions.

‘We are just about to reach Luna’ Noah answered to my question when I asked him why we haven’t reached. He is such a nice guy, a sweet one whom I think I can trust on. He has the softness in his eyes when he sees me and welcoming smile on his face making me comfortable instantly.

My brow furrowed when my eyes caught the dried blood on his skin, switching my gaze swiftly getting a glimpse of Ethan I found the stain of blood on his skin too, their clothes were not covered in blood but had light stains on them which means that they shifted and later on have these clothes on.

‘Did they get in to the fight’ I talked inwardly hoping for Irene to respond, I was missing her. She has been the only friend I talked with in last two years, we share a perfect bond, but there was no response from her side which means she was still sleeping. Fine, let her be.

I was in the middle of my own decision of what to do, when I heard Noah offering me a snacks. Yup, I was hungry and will not deny the offer so soon I was eating them. Every time he calls me Luna, a tickling feeling goes through my stomach and I couldn’t stop the blush on my cheeks. Although I did not get any chance to talk with my mate nor he tried to, when back in to my father’s room I found out he is my mate, I was afraid that he will reject me immediately knowing I am the daughter of his enemy but he stunned me by accepting our bond.

I am just hoping that he had took this decision with his heart and will give our bond a chance to get stronger. I was quietly watching to them, seeing the blood on their skin had made me worried, something I probably had missed while sleeping, but since I am not very close to any of them, I found it very difficult to ask from them and let my mind to think of the possibility they had to get in the fight in the middle of the night.

I was talking to myself waiting for Irene to wake up and respond when heard the sound of chuckling, Noah and Ethan both were laughing while looking at my mate and when I peak I found him throwing his face in his hand shaking it disapprovingly. Did I miss something again? then it clicked to me that they would be using their mindlink for the communication. It upset me though but soon my attention was directed towards Noah who was showing interest in asking about me.

‘Luna, can you tell me about yourself? We don’t know much about you as we never saw you in a large gatherings of the neighboring packs’ his question makes a pang in my heart. My father never took me in such gatherings, giving the same lame excuse that I am a weak wolf, and an insult to Greenwood pack, no matter how much I insist but my mother never supported me.

‘Yeah, dad had already told me that I won’t be taking over his position so he found it useless for me getting social with other pack members’ I shrugged my shoulder trying to act cool, but there was a complete silence, a deep silence, may be they did not like my answer.

‘I am sorry for what I said’ regretting on expressing myself to them, I apologized quickly. I should have kept it in my mind that only Irene is my friend to whom I can say anything. I have to be cautious around them. On my apology I heard Caleb growl and before I could have understood what had happened on and he could have said something, Ethan informed all of us about reaching to the Creek Star Pack. I waited for any of them to talk to me but they did not hence I turned my head and start watching the view. Feeling lonely and sad.

The Creek Star Pack was known for his strength and strong warriors; a part of it they were also recognize for the beauty of their pack which was not just covered by the trees instead on their north side it was the series of mountains that had snow covered on the top of their peaks hence making the pack one of the coolest and mesmerizing.

I always heard about this pack from my high school mates, as they participate in to the events organized by these packs when I was not even allowed to attend one of my packs. The car’s engine stopped in front of the pack house and Noah quickly exit asking to me to wait for him and stay in the car.

These people are confusing, I was afraid what if they will also turn out like my father’s pack. I exhaled and called for Irene, she had enough sleep and should wake up now.

‘What is it Lilith?’ I heard her sleepy voice and for a second felt bed for disturbing her slumber, but it was just for a second and the next second I was back on scolding her.

‘Aren’t you done with sleeping so long?’ I questioned her, when the door of my side was open and standing was smiling Noah.

‘Welcome to Creek Star Pack Luna! Please come out of the car’ he offered me his hand so I can comfortably come out of the car. Holding his hand I exited the car, letting myself to go as they ask me to as this place and people all were stranger to me.

‘Thank you Noah’ I smiled at him but my smile fade when I did not see Caleb anywhere around, did he left already?

‘We had the rogue attack last night when you were sleeping, so he had to discuss this with Council’ Noah explained to me and my mouth opened in shock.

‘Rogues attack? So that is the reason that you all are hurt and had blood on your skin.’ He nodded and turned to go inside the Pack house, he was dragging my bags too, I start following him, forgiving my mate instantly for rushing inside without welcoming to me in his pack.

‘Lilith, I have to tell you something’ I heard the faint voice of Irene.

‘What is it? Are you fine Irene?’ I got worried immediately, it is not the usual Irene.

‘Our mate does not want us’ I stopped abruptly. The news was too much for me.

‘Don’t play with me Irene. This is not the right time’ I said to her hoping she is just trying to have fun with me knowing how much I was refusing the fact that our mate will want us.

‘I am sorry, but Kaden just told me that Caleb does not want us’ Noah was giving me introduction of the areas of pack house when he might have observed that I was zoned out and was not listening to him. He came to me and nudge my hand, pulling me out from the state of shock I was in.

‘Are you fine Luna?’ I pulled out my hand from his grasp. Are they all making fun of me? He calls me Luna when his Alpha does not want me as his mate. What they game he was playing.

‘I have to talk to Caleb, now. Where is he?’ I asked from him firmly, my voice stern leaving no room for him to object. I may have not shifted but I have Alpha blood in me and I can be authoritative person if I want.
