JARCKON smiled to himself. He knew Adhara was hiding under her bed. Shrugging his shoulders, he took a deep breath. She has a plan to escape again, he thought. I won’t allow it.

Jarckon walked straight to his hall and called for Inker. Inker was one of his most trusted servants, like Felicity. He had served the Jarckon family for over a decade and was the same age as Jarckon. Jarckon trusted Inker as much as he trusted Felicity.

Jarckon ordered Inker and the rest of his men to watch Adhara closely—he had a feeling she would try to escape again. Felicity, too, became more vigilant, her eyes never leaving Adhara.

At that moment, Adhara was eating her dinner. Felicity had filled the table with food, just as Jarckon had instructed. She couldn’t stop smiling and giggling, which made Adhara wonder what was amusing her. Felicity was recalling how Jarckon had discovered Adhara hiding under her bed earlier. Jarckon had personally overseen her meal, changed the bed fabrics, and filled her cabinet with new dresses—hoping these gestures would make her abandon any thoughts of escaping.

Adhara noticed Felicity’s smiles and giggles. “Is there something funny? Why are you giggling?” she asked.

“My lady, I’m sorry. I just remembered something… someone,” Felicity replied, trailing off.

Adhara nodded and continued eating. She had already made her plan: tonight, she would escape. Living in this castle felt like living in a prison, and she was determined to break free.

After Felicity cleared the table, Adhara locked her room and ensured no one could enter while she prepared. She pulled the curtains off her window, grabbed blankets and bedsheets, and tied them together. This was her way to escape unnoticed.

When the clock struck midnight, echoing through the castle, Adhara observed the grounds. Once she was sure everyone was asleep, she threw the stitched fabric out the window. Using it as a rope, she climbed down to the ground without being seen and crept toward the main gate, checking for guards.

But as she reached the front door, a strong hand grabbed her and pulled her back inside. Adhara struggled, screaming and punching her captor’s back, but her efforts had no effect. The man was too powerful—his grip felt like that of ten men.

They entered the castle, and he turned on the lights, temporarily blinding Adhara with the glare of gold decor. He set her down gently, and she realized it was Inker—one of Jarckon’s men. This was the first time she had seen him: light brown eyes, a muscular build, and a smirk that made her uneasy.

Inker stared deeply into her eyes, but Adhara turned away when she heard Jarckon’s voice. Fear coursed through her veins as she stepped back. Jarckon moved closer, his green eyes piercing her like daggers. His gaze made her feel small, as if he could devour her at any moment.

“Leave us, Inker,” Jarckon commanded. Inker obeyed, and soon, only Jarckon and Adhara remained. Adhara’s heart raced, and she could hear her own breathing echoing in the empty hall. Jarckon’s breathing was deep, as if he was struggling to control his anger.

He took a step toward her, and she could feel his presence looming over her. She noticed him inhale, as if savoring her scent—a reminder of the night they’d spent together in the woods. Panic surged through her as his hand touched her hair, then her face, and finally her lips. She tried to look away and move back, but he held her gaze.

Jarckon stared at her, his desire warring with suspicion. He wanted her, but he couldn’t shake the feeling she was plotting against him. His eyes drifted to her chest, and he remembered the night he’d claimed her body. With a growl, he turned away and walked to the window, putting distance between them.

“How many times do I have to tell you? You can’t leave this castle,” he said, his voice cold.

Adhara met his gaze, her fear mixed with defiance. “You don’t own me,” she spat.

Jarckon laughed bitterly. “I’ve owned you since the day I brought you here. Can’t you see that?”

“No one owns me. Let me go,” she demanded.

Jarckon stared at her, his expression unreadable. Adhara felt a wave of terror wash over her. What was he thinking?

Just then, Felicity entered, her face etched with worry. “My lady,” she greeted.

“Take her to her room and watch her closely,” Jarckon ordered. Before he could leave, he turned to Felicity, his voice sharp. “You’re not doing your job.”

He walked toward the stairs, but paused and glanced back at Adhara. Felicity bowed her head, then led Adhara to her room. As Adhara followed, she couldn’t help but wonder why Jarckon was keeping her prisoner. Imprisoned in a man’s castle, she thought. I never expected this from him.

Jarckon stared at his reflection in a cracked mirror, his figure a distorted mess. He felt on the verge of a breakdown, barely recognizing the image staring back. He knelt on the floor, wishing he could restore his former self, but as time passed, he felt himself transforming into a vicious, wolf-like beast. The curse grew stronger, and he was dismayed by the thought of living as a monster forever. He slammed his head against the wall, enduring the sharp pain. His anguished roars echoed through the room. Jarckon struggled to control the transformation, thick, black fur sprouting from his skin. It was midnight. The air was cold, and the wind howled. Adhara stirred in her sleep, the familiar sounds piercing through her window. She rose from her bed, her bare feet touching the cold marble floor. Leaving her room, she followed the worrying sounds. With each step, her heart trembled with a mix of curiosity and fear. Adhara recognized the sounds from the castle, but they were much l

“BREAKFAST is ready,” Jarckon said. The trembling in her chest grew when Jarckon murmured this in her ear. She could smell his fresh scent, which invoked a desire to kiss him. She turned around and walked toward her dressing room, leaving Jarckon alone in the middle of the room. “I will wait for you.” “Yeah, sure. Just give me a minute.” Her voice wavered. She didn’t know if Jarckon noticed. A moment later, Adhara emerged from her dressing room wearing an oversized shirt that reached almost to her knees. Jarckon smiled when he saw Adhara. She looked charming in his eyes. As time went by, Jarckon developed feelings for Adhara. They grew stronger. He didn’t know when it had started; it had just grown like a flower blossoming in a garden. It was as if everything about him had changed. But one thing he needed to assure himself: he would keep Adhara from danger and protect her, even if it meant giving his own life. Since Jarckon was getting better, he managed things himself as

  • Tamed by Her Touch   Chapter Forty: Welcome to My Castle

The wind blows, creating eerie sounds, and snowdrops fall to the ground. The freezing air and icy weather make the whole place feel sad. Jarckon is lying down, asleep; he looks more peaceful, and his pain seems lessened. A bandage is rolled on his shoulder. Adhara placed a cold towel on his forehead to help bring his body temperature back to normal—a simple treatment that offers him some relief. Adhara sat on the couch, looking at Jarckon, thinking about what would happen in the next few days of staying in her place. She looked around as if memorizing every part of the room, smiling when she saw that everything was still there. She walked toward her dresser and retrieved the photo pasted on the mirror. It was her and Slagle, the last photo she had with him. She took it, crumpled it, and threw it into the fire. Adhara looked outside, glancing all over the surface. It was silent and lovely, entirely distinct from the day she had left. She kept staring and watching the snowdrops on the

Adhara stares at Jarckon, unable to process what has just happened. She resents him for saving her. He shouldn’t have. Now she feels indebted to Jarckon for saving her life from Slagle. “You’re a damn fool! Why did you do that?” she asks, her eyes brimming with tears. She pulls Jarckon inside the stone house—damaged, yet offering better protection from the freezing weather. She grabs garments to cover Jarckon’s body and starts a fire in the fireplace to keep them warm. She then applies first aid to soothe his pain. “Are you mad at me?” Jarckon asks. She doesn’t answer, focusing instead on the medical kit she found. She applies a plaster to his face and ointment to the bruised areas of his body. “I’m sorry. I just wanted to save you.” Adhara turns and looks out at the snow-covered landscape. The weather is worsening. She glances at Jarckon, lying impaired on the bed. His legs are broken, and he can barely move his arms. “Thank you for saving me,” she says. She admits to herself

She opened her eyes when she heard Jarckon’s voice. She saw his bruised face, blood running down his forehead. “Jarckon.” “Don’t speak. Stay here; I will be back.” Jarckon left her in the shrubs, where she could find shelter, and covered her body to protect her from the chilly weather. She pulled herself up to sit against the wood, letting her body rest. Adhara felt extreme pain in her arms and forehead. Jarckon returned to the place where he had left his brother, Slagle, not to fight, but to talk. He explored the area, but there was no trace of Slagle. He kept looking, feeling that Slagle was hiding somewhere. Jarckon knew his brother; he wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted. He was scared that his brother had an evil plan against Adhara. “Looking for me, brother?” Jarckon turned around when he heard Slagle’s voice. “Come on, Slagle, let’s talk about this.” Slagle laughed, a devilish sound. He smirked at Jarckon, mocking his brother. “Why are you doing this?” Slagle s

  • Tamed by Her Touch   Chapter Thirty- Seven : The Revenge

Jarckon and his men crossed the village to reach the town, undeterred by the harsh weather. He moved with unwavering resolve. With his werewolf visage, he traversed the town in search of his brother, Slagle. Silvery sleet enveloped the town, and the mountains seemed to wither under the weather's assault. From his vantage point, he spotted a small stone house and sensed Adhara's presence. Her scent lingered, evoking memories of her skin against his. As he approached the stone residence, he detected the metallic tang of blood. Adhara's whimpers echoed through the town. With a howl, Jarckon bounded over the icy shrubs and into the house. Inside, Slagle dragged Adhara, shoving her against the wall, pinning her hands, and pressing her head against the cold stone. "You're hurting me," she trembled, her limbs shaking as blood trickled from her forehead. "Don't do this to me," Adhara pleaded. "You think I'm insane, huh? That I'd let you live?" "Please, I'm begging you." "Sincerely? You
