She gave me a sheepish grin. “Hey, cool it. It's no big deal, stop shouting. I can do it myself anyway."

Well, the chemistry teacher walked in just then, and I was forced to keep shut and pay attention. I barely heard anything that was said throughout the class until the bell rang. I grabbed my bag immediately, with right Suzella behind me. We really needed to talk. What actually pissed me off was the fact that Regan and Lisa also followed and refused to get off our backs.

“Why are you pulling me!" I struggled to free myself from Logan's grip. “Where are you dragging me to?" “Just wait and see." he grunted. Ahead, I could see his car parked. “Billy Gunter!” Asher called. Billy Gunter? Who was that? Logan froze. He suddenly turned ashen and released my hand immediately. No way. He was Billy Gunter? Is that his real identity? Does it mean Logan Greene was fake? Asher and the boys approached us with satisfied smiles. "Are you surprised at your own name?” "Don't be a fool. Or are you having double vision?” "Listen, Billy. If I were you, I would steer clear of Grace's path, else, the whole world is gonna know who Billy Gunter is, and I'm sure you don't want that.” Like…I couldn't believe Logan had turned red instantly. He looked so shit scared. "How long have you known?”Logan managed to ask. “Let's discuss that later. For now, stay away for your own good." Logan shot him one last glare before stomping to his car. We watched him zoom off angrily.

I rushed over to him immediately. “Are you okay? Are you okay, Asher?” But he was unresponsive and kept clutching his forehead tightly, groaning in pain. "I swear, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. Take your hands off, let me see.”He obeyed instantly, but pulled me down to himself, and I fell on his chest."Hey, just stay put. Let's not fight again, okay? Obviously, none of us wants to do it. So be it then. We don't have to stage a fight of who's got a dirtier life, okay?”I thought our position was awkward because I was lying on him. But he didn't seem to mind. Should I mind too?Rather, he stroked my hair gently. "I understand we've got feelings for each other, but that doesn't mean our love for each other should be centered on making out, right?”I scoffed. "Excuse you? Who said I loved you?”"Why didn't you tell me you were a pro at the game last night?”Did he just switch the subject?I smiled. "Because action speaks louder.”"What if we play for an hour, then I sort a few things o

The message was from Matt. Hey, dude. What's your plan for your scholarship girl and her friend at the party tomorrow? What was this supposed to mean? I stared at the notification in wonder.Asher walked over to my corner, still on the call. I guessed he was about to say something, but he stopped when he noticed I had seen the message. He hung up immediately.“Uh… listen, I was going to tell you something,” he began, sitting beside me.“Yeah, about how you guys planned to ruin my life at the party tomorrow. Thanks,” I blurted."It's not what you think, okay? I swear, it's all for show.”I scoffed, looking away. “Forget it. I won't be there anyway. I'm returning to Minnesota." "Your uncle wouldn't agree, you know.”"That's not in your place to say,” I snapped, rising to my feet. “Besides, now that I think about it, there’s no point staying here anymore, surrounded by people who are ready to tear you apart like wild animals. Being around chameleons isn’t fun either.”Asher pulled my h

What?" I was forced to ask.Instead of replying, he nodded subtly toward his screen. "My math assignment.”My frown deepened as I turned to look at it. "I wasn't the one who promised. It was Suzella." He paid me deaf ears and pulled me down to sit next to me. “Since she was talking in your place, you might as well do it in her place." I pressed my bottle to my mouth and stared blankly at the screen. “Nah…I'm not in the mood for studies right now." “Who cares? We made a deal.”"Suzella did. Besides, it's fake. You were tricked.” I laughed wickedly and he gave me an amused look."Don't be silly.” He muttered lightly, then stroked my hair gently. "I'm sorry about what happened earlier today.”I studied his expression, then pulled away gently, clearing my throat. "Stop acting creepy. It doesn't suit you. Bark at me if you want to.”He chuckled and rose to his feet, heading toward his closet. "Is that what you have been seeing me as? A dog?”I said nothing but sipped my drink while scan

The closer the boots came, the faster my heart raced. Wouldn’t Asher do something? “Is there a problem?” I heard Asher ask them. “Mister Thorne wants us to inspect his vehicles. He has an important function to attend tonight.” I almost wet myself right there. No way was I coming here again. I hated myself for dozing off in his car and for even thinking about his large, cozy room. But what normal, tired human wouldn’t fall asleep in such a comfortable ride? If I had been awake, I would have made him drop me off at Suzella’s place. Now I was about to be doomed. I think Xena was done searching, but there was no way I could return to the car without being seen, if the surveillance cameras hadn’t already caught me. “Before you inspect his car, could you kindly check my Porsche first?” I heard Asher say. “I don’t understand the signals it was giving me the last time I checked.” “We already checked it last night,” one of the men replied. “I tried it again this morning. I could have

Grace's POV I and Asher exchanged nervous glances. Now, he would see exactly what I had been talking about.Without being told, I slipped back to my previous hiding spot at the back seat. Heck, I just hoped she wasn’t heading straight here. The moment I was sure Asher had stepped out of the car, I raised my head slightly to overhear their conversation. Fortunately, the front windows were already down, so I could hear them clearly.“What the hell are you doing here at this hour?”I lifted my head an inch higher so I could see her.She was wearing a tight mini skirt that barely covered her thighs, paired with a singlet that revealed far too much cleavage.Damn. No doubt she was here to seduce him.I was shocked when Xena raised her hand to slap Asher, but he caught it midway.“Are you crazy?!”“Don’t you dare ask me that, Asher! You know exactly what I’m talking about!”“Xena, you can’t just waltz into my space like you own it and yell in my face for no reason.”“Why did you keep denyi
