Semua Bab Taming Asher : Bab 1 - Bab 10

On a scale of one to ten, my life had always dangled between three and four, thanks to my very wretched humble background, until the day it hit zero. "I will give you the money on the condition that you send that text to Asher." Mia Harper began with a mischievous smile on her face."Asher?" I repeated."You heard me right." No way.Asher Thorne was the hottest, attractive and most popular kid in school. Bad boy, star hockey player, arrogant and snobbish, were the perfect words to describe him with. His dad was the CEO of the Thorne Pavilion Hotels, littered across the country. So, just saying he was rich was a mere understatement. Not only that. Asher wasn't the kind of guy anyone could just walk up to. He hardly ever smiled and didn't talk to just 'anybody'."No big deal." Mia was saying. "Just hit the send button, and you get a whooping sum of five hundred bucks.“ She waved the money right in front of my eyes."Come on. Just do it." Her best friend and partner, Nicole, urged. "It

I did a lot of thinking as I laid on the bed with my growling stomach. Regan treated me the way she did because my family practically lived at their mercy.I grew up in a small town in Minnesota. My parents own a few farms where we plant corn and soybeans. But three years ago, we had the worst harvest ever. Uncle Pete, Regan's dad, who came visiting, suggested I follow him to Michigan and school with his daughter, to ease my family off some burden because we were four kids in all, of which I was the eldest. Of course I agreed. And here I have been. Thing is... Regan never welcomed me because she saw me as a local country girl who came to steal her dad and invade her perfect life. Regan was registered into our current school, Blue Lake High, by her mum's elder sister, Aunt Elena, who had no child of her own and considered Regan as hers. She was a very rich and influential lady from what I heard, a successful YouTuber and a dentist.I made it via scholarship the previous year, thanks

Once again, I willed myself not to cry as I gathered what was left of the remaining good bags and moved to an abandoned shack that once looked like a coffee shop by the corner. I sat on the low step beside my bags and sniffed silently.I thought of calling Uncle Pete to know if he'll be returning from work already, but I decided it wouldn't be cool to bother him. I swore not to touch the money Asher's grandma had given me. I needed it whole and intact. One thing was certain, I would definitely find my way home. My phone rang about ten minutes later. Regan. I picked it immediately."Where are you?!" She barked. Her question broke the dam I had been holding up for too long. I cried into the mouthpiece and she panicked at once."Grace? What's the problem? Are you okay?" Exactly twenty minutes later, Regan was next to me, looking so worried and breathless. I was really surprised she could have the mind to look out for me, considering how much she hated me."Do you remember the plate numbe

Asher dragged me down the stairs and out of the building until we reached a corner of the field, far from public view. It was still dark, but bright enough for me to make out his features.I yanked my hand free. “What the hell is the meaning of this, Asher? Are you crazy? What kind of impression did you just create out there?!”He arched a brow. “Oh. Are you yelling at me now?” He shot me a menacing stare that only fueled my anger.“You have no idea how hard I’m fighting the urge to slap you right now. If you know what’s good for you, you’d better go back and clear my name.”“Or what?" He leaned so close to me I had to drift back till my back hit the fence. "You think you can talk back at me or dare me now, huh?” he snarled, placing both hands on the fence beside my head, trapping me between his arms.Perfect. Now I was stuck. Anyone who saw us from afar would think we were making out. Notwithstanding, my heart pounded wildly. At that moment, I understood why girls fell all over him.

Though my knees felt weak and wobbly, I texted him again. If he wanted to play a game, then he just picked the wrong partner.Good Grace, 12:19pm: I can't trek there you know. I'll need cab fare back and forth.Jerk, 12:20pm: I love your galls. Collect d money from Terry.Terry? I frowned. Why was he asking me to go to Terry? Not even Matt?Good Grace, 12:20pm: Why are you involving a third party??? I'm not begging you for money, you know!Jerk, 12:20pm: I'm not in school, baby.I stared at it wide eyed. What??? Baby?!Good Grace: Watch it dude! Good Grace: You sure you're okay???Hold on. He's not in school? Did he go back home? I was going to text him again but Suzella suddenly wrapped her hand around me and peered at my phone. "Who have you been standing here texting?" I turned off the screen immediately and shoved it in my skirt pocket."Come with me and receive your hundred dollar reward." I sang. She squealed in delight as we both made for the cafeteria and joined the queue a
