Asher frowned at Liam, the confusion tightening his brows. “What do you mean Zane is lying to me? About what?”

Liam tilted his head, and a calm knowing smile spread across his glossy lips. “Tell me, sweetheart… have you ever met your real father since Zane brought him to that pressed conference?”

Asher went rigid and his fingers curled slightly on the table. That was a fucking weird question but it made him realize that in fact, he's never met his real father.

So with narrowed eyes, he shook his head slowly. “No. What does that have to do with anything?”

“It has everything to do with the fact Zane West is getting engaged,” Liam said.

For a full heartbeat, Asher forgot how to breathe.

“That’s—no.” He let out a disbelieving laugh. “No he’s not. He would’ve— that doesn’t even make sense.”

Liam sighed as if he’d expected this reaction. He lifted his phone, scrolled for a few seconds then held it out in front of Asher's face.
