Chapter 151: Four more Days

Edward’s POV

The first thing I felt that morning wasn’t sunlight. It was her.

Vanessa’s body curled against mine, warm, soft, too perfect for this world. Her red hair strands glowing where the light pierced through the curtains. Her breath tickled my skin, slow and even, but her hips. God, those hips had shifted against me in her sleep all night, driving me insane.

Four days. That’s all that separated me from making her my wife.

And I still couldn’t believe I’d gotten this far.

“Stop staring,” she mumbled without opening her eyes, her voice raspy with sleep.

“Never,” I murmured back, sliding my hand down the curve of her waist. “You were made to be stared at.”

That earned me a lazy smile, the kind that melted every steel wall I’d ever built. Her lashes finally fluttered open, and the black in her eyes hit me like the first time I saw her across that college library, pretending to ignore me while every cell in my body screamed she was mine.

“You’re insufferable,” she teased.

Vanessa POVJuly 23rd / 24th I should have known Bella was up to something. The way she insisted I dress up this afternoon, how she marched me to the salon without explanation, the sparkle in her eyes whenever I asked why she was fussing over me. She might as well have tattooed surprise incoming across her forehead. But still, nothing prepared me for the moment the elevator doors opened and Liam and I stepped into that glittering hotel ballroom.“Surprise!!”The word exploded in a chorus of cheers, laughter, and clapping. For a second, I froze, forgetting to breathe. The room was a masterpiece of white roses, pink balloons, soft blush ribbons, and shimmering chandeliers casting light across familiar faces. My sister Mandi stood front and center with her kids bouncing around her legs. Bella was beside her, grinning like the devil herself, and behind them, a wave of women. Friends from high school, from college, cousins I hadn’t seen in years—all smiling, clapping, calling my name.My

Edward POVJuly 23rdThe room boomed with lively music and smelled of strong alcohol and cigars, a mix I hadn’t been around in years but that somehow brought me straight back to the reckless chaos of college nights. Larry had arrived only two hours ago, Samuel right after him, and already the two of them had managed to turn my quiet evening into something loud, messy, and exactly what I didn’t realize I needed.“Look at this bastard,” Larry said, lifting his glass and pointing at me like I’d been caught stealing from the cookie jar. “Edward Silver. The guy who used to swear marriage was a trap. The guy who once said, and I quote, ‘I’ll die before I wear a tux for a wedding that isn’t mine.’ And now look at you. Engaged. Getting hitched in five days.”Samuel laughed so hard he nearly spilled his drink. “Don’t forget — he also said love was a distraction. What was it, Ed? ‘Emotions get in the way of winning.’”I smirked, shaking my head. “You two remember a lot of shit that should’ve b

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 150: Escalation

Vanessa POVIt was barely a week left till i walked down the aisle. Oh God. It felt so dreamy.I wish my late parents were alive to witness it. They would be so happy. The morning started with laughter.Liam had smeared chocolate across his cheek at breakfast, grinning at me like he was the cleverest boy alive. Edward sat across the table, pretending to scowl while failing to hide the twitch of amusement at the corner of his mouth.“Don’t encourage him,” Edward muttered, though his eyes were warm.Liam puffed out his chest. “Dad, I’m practicing camouflage. If bad guys come, they won’t see me.”The fork froze halfway to my lips. For a second, the lightheartedness cracked.Edward reached over and ruffled Liam’s hair. “No bad guys are coming, champ.” His tone was easy, confident. Like always. But my skin prickled anyway.By noon, Bella had dragged me out for what she called “therapeutic shopping.” Liam begged to tag along, Jacob too. And for once Edward agreed. On the condition that se

Daniel POVNights stretched longer when I couldn’t sleep. And lately, I never slept.I sat in the leather chair in my apartment, a bottle of red wine at my elbow, blinds half-drawn against the glow of Manhattan. The city didn’t care that I was coming apart at the seams. It never had.My mind kept replaying that night in Zanzibar like some cursed loop. Vanessa’s laughter echoing in the humid air, her hair tangled by the wind. The way her lips had trembled when she whispered my name like a confession. The heat of her skin under my palms when I thought, for one damn second, she was mine again. She had been mine. I could still taste her. Feel the shiver that ran through her body when I kissed down her throat. The way she looked at me—hungry, desperate, alive. Not like she looked at him.But then, just like always, she slipped away. Back to Edward. Back to his mansion, his power, his son. Back to the safety of the man who ruined her as much as he saved her.I downed another glass, the swee

  • Taming Mr Billionaire    Chapter 148: Joy and Fear

Vanessa’s POVEvening of July 15th and 16thEdward’s kitchen always smelled unique, just like him. Something sharp and clean. The counters shined under the golden pendant lights, and the faint sizzle of garlic hit the pan while he muttered something under his breath about me ruining the tomatoes.“I’m not ruining them,” I protested, knife in hand, slicing much too slowly on purpose because I knew it drove him crazy.“You’re murdering them,” he said dryly, taking the knife from me with that domineering ease that made my breath catch. “Tomatoes should be cut with confidence, Vanessa. Not fear.”I laughed, leaning against the counter, pretending not to notice how his shirt sleeves had been rolled up and his forearms flexed as he took control of the cutting board. God, this man could make chopping vegetables look like foreplay.Damn.“You’re such a control freak.”He shot me a sidelong smirk. “And you love it.”Oh he was right, because I did. We’d fallen into this strange, blissful rhythm
