“This is Derek Vaughn, please leave a message if I don't answer the phone.” The automated voice came up for the nth time. Taylor threw her phone against the wall, smashing it into pieces in anger. Today was the 30th day, she had been locked up in her room by Andrew after being accused of frolicking with Daniel. It was also her 30th time being sexually punished by him. Taylor shivered when she glanced at the time. It was 3pm already, and it was only a matter of 2 hours before Andrew would be back to make her life a living hell. She heard a knock on the door, but ignored it as she sprawled on her bed, her back turned to the door. Just like she expected, she heard the door unlocking before it was pushed open. “You should eat something, Mrs. Radford.” Becky said as she walked in and placed the food she had brought with her on Taylor's beside table. Taylor had her eyes wide open, but didn't bother acknowledging Becky's presence. Becky stayed in the room for a while before she breath
"So what do you think?" A drunk girl giggled, leaning in to kiss the blonde haired man underneath her. The man grinned, grabbing her gently by her waist. "I think it's a very good idea. It's been long we had a beach party." "I know, right?" She mused with a smile, her lips meeting his. They had their tongues in each other's mouth for a while until the sound of a ringing phone broke them off. "It's coming from my private phone." She whined when he refused to let her go as he continued ravishing her with kisses."I know, but it won't hurt to let it ring a little while longer." The man sighed, pushing back her hair as he sucked on her neck, giving her a hickey. His words seemed to indulge her as she allowed the phone to stop ringing. However when it began ringing again, the redhead pubsed her boyfriend away and sauntered towards the direction of her phone. The influence of the alcohol quickly left her eyes when she saw the name sprawled across her screen. She shivered and answered,
As Taylor drove out of her parents' residence, her phone which was in her pocket couldn't stop vibrating. She couldn't count how many times Daniel had called in the span of ten minutes. "I can't marry him. I'll never marry that demon! I know what I'll do. I'll run. I'll run so fast they can't find me. I'll run back to Daniel and we'll go to the farthest of the earth to start a family!" Taylor kept mumbling those words over and over again like someone who had lost her mind. She had no idea how long she drove within California aimlessly, but the next time she looked at the time, it was already six in the evening. Her phone also had over a hundred missed calls, a dozen from Daniel and a dozen from her mother. She didn't bother to confirm her words as she stopped the car on a bridge. Her eyes were blank as she overlooked the waters. Something in it looked so serene and wonderful and for a moment, she contemplated diving in. It was better to die than to get married to Andrew Radford.
The beeping sound. The smell of antiseptics. Those were the first things Taylor heard and smelt when she opened her eyes. Why was she in the hospital? She clearly remembered jumping into the ocean. She tried to get up, but couldn't as a pang of pain waltzed through her, pushing her back to the bed. "Taylor! Taylor, you're awake! Thank goodness! I was so worried, baby!" Ava cried out, racing to her daughter's side. Taylor's eyes settled on her mother's face. The puffy eyes and black eye bags underneath Ava's eyes made her heart break. If she had died like she wanted to, she wouldn't be feeling this much pain. "Why would you try to kill yourself, Taylor? Do you have any idea how worried your father and I was when we heard the news?" Ava berated tearfully, caressing Taylor's hand. My father. Taylor glanced around the room in search of Dante. "He didn't come." Ava revealed and Taylor turned to her. The woman forced on a smile as she continued, "Your father's reputation has been ru
Taylor whimpered on the cold floor, her eyes tightly shut and legs drawn up to her stomach, leaving her in a ball form. She wrapped her hands across her body, gritting her teeth in fear. The musty basement air was gradually leaving her breathless and her heart was slowing down its pace. "Go away…please go away." She kept muttering with chattering teeth. The door to the basement suddenly flung open, but Taylor didn't dare to open her eyes. "There's a dinner party tonight. Becky will get you ready and when it's time, Ramos will take you there." Andrew stated the reason for his coming. Taylor didn't bother to ask who these people were as she still had her eyes tightly shut. Seconds later, she managed to get a grip on herself as she slowly opened her eyes and looked up at him. The raw hatred in her eyes couldn't be missed by Andrew. The man chuckled darkly and bent beside her, "Now that's the look I expect you to have. But why do I have the feeling you desire to curse me out?" Tay
Blood rushed to Taylor's nose as she tried to hold back her tears. As she moved her hand, something fell, causing a loud nose that caused Ava and the girl with her to turn towards its direction. Without thinking, Taylor turned and ran out. Ramos, who was walking towards her direction, saw her and breathed out a silent sigh of relief. “Don't wander away from me tonight, Mrs. Radford.” Taylor nodded, turning her face away from him. Ramos thought he saw tears in her eyes and was about to take a closer look when he realized it was none of his business. It's not like the boss cares anyway. "This way, please.” He directed with his hands, bowing down a little. Then walked after her into the building. As soon as she got in, Taylor noticed Ava was already seated beside Dante and the girl Taylor had seen with Ava, beside Ava. Ava smiled at Taylor as soon as they made eye contact. Taylor balled her hand into a tight fist and refused to return the smile, much to the surprise of Taylor.
Taylor got to where the Lincoln was parked and wiped off the tears streaming down her face with the back of her hand. She didn't understand when her life became so messed up. She married her father's enemy, a man who wants nothing to do with her other than to torment her, and today she discovered she had a younger sister who was a surgeon. Her father also didn't want to have anything to do with her. As if that weren't enough, the woman she thought to be her mother all these years wasn't even close and had loathed her for a very long time. But she still has Daniel, doesn't she?As Taylor thought of that, she became calm. She turned to Ramos, who held the car's door for her and instructed, “I need to stop by a phone booth on the way.” “Mr. Radford instructed that you be taken straight to the house as soon as you leave the party.” Ramos refuted with a straight face. Taylor clenched her fist tightly. Thanks to Ava and her father, Andrew had her feet and hands bound with an invisible
For the next two weeks as Taylor healed from the car accident, her hatred for Andrew kept growing and so did the newfound hatred towards her father, Ava and Elizabeth. That particular morning, a maid walked behind Taylor as she painstakingly walked to the dining room with her crutches. Beads of perspiration rolled down her forehead, but the maid turned a blind eye to it. Her job was to make sure Taylor got to the dining room no matter what. Even if Taylor fell in the process, it was none of the maid's business. Taylor exhaled shakily, gritting her teeth in pain as she finally got to the dining. Andrew was already there, eating. Hearing her come in, he glanced at his wristwatch and let out a faint smile. A minute before the time he gave her elapsed. She was finally learning. Taylor saw his smile and swallowed bitterly. She took her seat and picked up the knife with her bandaged hand, while she held the fork in the other. The accident had affected three parts of her body; right le
