Chapter 10

Third Person's Pov

"What the fuck happened there?"  Lorcan asked upon meeting Artemis and Sin outside the building. Sin eyed Artemis Thaleia intently.

The woman shrugged her shoulders and went straight to the car parked in front of the building, causing Lorcan to frown.

The members of the Miscreant who were involved in the attack have already left to escape.  Lorcan was about to leave, too, when he witnessed the explosion of the helicopter a moment ago.

"That woman." Sin pointed at Artemis.

"She got pissed and shot that metal bird. You should have been there, too. It was such a heartbreaking scene I almost cried. She's heartless...and crazy," Sin whispered the last part of his sentence before he laughed like a lunatic. Sin then patted Lorcan's arm, who still didn't seem to understand what had happened fully.

"Why is she still with us? I thought—"

"Change of plans, my dear. She'll go with us," Sin countered.

"Conrad, Eul, and Thayer are waiting for us at the airport," Lorcan said before reviving the engine and speeding the car away.

Sin's lips quickly drew a teasing smile when he saw three police cars and a black SUV trying to chase Lorcan's car.

Artemis turned to check the mobiles while Lorcan remained calm and drove faster.

"They'll catch up with us!"  Artemis commented in a panicky voice.

Sin smiled, "No, they won't," he said. Sin took the machine gun from Artemis and charged it up with new bullets before he leaned out the window, targeting the police mobiles.

The corner of Sin's lips stretched even more as one of the police cars exploded, stopping everyone behind it.

Sin threw the empty machine gun on the road and then sat back in the passenger seat.

"I won't get a gift from Santa this year. I've been a bad boy," He murmured, "But I guess I received the best gift, Mi Amore."  He mumbled and smiled sweetly.  Artemis smiled back at him as Lorcan shook his head at them.

Artemis roamed her eyes on the area as she got out of the car, but then guns were quickly pointed in Artemis' direction.

Sin raised his hand in the air, signaling his men to put their guns down.

"She's coming with us, calm your asses," Sin said and was about to board his private plane when Kanoa grabbed his arm.

Sin stared at his arms for a moment. As soon as Kanoa realized what she had done, she withdrew her grip on Sin.

"Have you gone crazy? You're going to take that woman to Naples? To the Miscreant Manor? Don't you know how dangerous that could be for us?" Sin traced her jawline. The sensation Kanoa felt with his touches made Kanoa close her eyes.

Kanoa winced in pain when Sin firmly held her jaw, causing her to close her eyes.

"Sin, stop, you're hurting me."

"Do not, and never, question my decision, kitten."  Sin whispered in Kanoa's ear before he pushed her face away from him.

Kanoa took a step back and caught her breath.  Sin rolled his eyes in a manly manner before he entered the plane.

Artemis shook her head and raised her eyebrows at Kanoa before he followed Sin inside.

"Excuse me, but are we not yet leaving? Who are we waiting for? Those stupid police and NBI agents?" Sin asked sarcastically while he was seriously looking at Eul as if he knew the answer to why they hadn't left yet.

"Where is Scarlet?" Sin added another question.

"She's here. Somewhere around this corner," Euleasis blurted out as if on cue.  A woman in her mid-twenties walks inside the private plane.  Her blonde pink hair was braided in two.

The woman named Scarlet eyed Artemis with a playful smirk before she turned to Sin.

"I'm late, I know, but it's traffic. I took the bus," she murmured.

Sin didn't pay any more attention to Scarlet, and instead, he poured his wine into his glasses.

Artemis stared shamelessly at him, watching his movement until she saw Lorcan and that unfamiliar girl walk toward the private plane's comfort room.

"Lorcan and his biological needs,"  Thayer whispered, which Artemis clearly heard.  Artemis glanced at the young man looking at his laptop and saw that he was deciphering computer codes that she couldn't understand.

"The woman flying this plane. I didn't see her before. Who is she?"  Artemis curiously asked.  Thayer closed his laptop and then poured his attention to Artemis, who had her arms folded.

"She's Scarlet Ingrid Hale. Miscreant's official pilot, as everyone called her. She's the only one Sin trusts to fly his plane when he flies to different countries for underground businesses. Also, she's a high-ranked Mafia reaper, Sin's favorite assassin."  Artemis nodded, then turned to the door where Scarlett came out.

"Guess the plane is in autopilot mode," Artemis thought to herself.

Scarlet is living proof that looks can really be deceiving because who the hell would ever think that a high-fashioned girl like her is a pilot of a mafia boss and his assassin?

"If you managed to make your way on the Miscreant rankings, then you could be the Queen. The ranking of the female members is different from the ranking of the male members. I believe you could be on the top any moment from now," Thayer said meaningfully, and then he glanced at Sin, whose eyes were tightly shut.

Artemis furrowed her brow and rolled her eyes as she saw Kanoa throwing a dagger at her.

"Is Kanoa the first in the ranking of the female mafia bosses?" Artemis asked Thayer.  He stood up and walked to the bar private bar.

"She's on the last."  He answered.  Artemis looked back at Kanoa, who was now talking to Conrad.

Silence enveloped them, and even though Artemis wanted to ask Thayer who was in the first rank, Artemis couldn't do it.

"We are on the way to Naples. You'll be meeting the remaining female bosses in a short moment," Thayer said.
