Artemis Thaleia's Perspective
[Flashback]"Is she your new chic?" A man asked as soon as Lorcan and I got off from his Maserati."Crimson's," Lorcan said in a calm voice. The stranger's eyes roamed through my body before I saw him suppress a smirk, making my brows arch."Why did you bring me here?" I asked when we got inside the mansion. Lorcan didn't answer me and instead kept walking and stopped as we reached a golden-coated double door at the end of the hallway.Everyone in that room immediately scrutinized me.A woman, whom I guess was about my age, stood up from her seat and eyed me and Lorcan."Did you seriously delay this meeting to pick up a whore, Lorcan?" She snarled. My eyebrows lifted. Lorcan ignored her by walking to his designated seat."Everyone, this is Dr. Artemis Thaleia Belmont. She'll be the one to come up with the plan that'll help us rescue Sin." I look at Lorcan confusedly."Do you have a brilliant plan now, Doctor?" Someone from the opposite table asked and flashed a playful smile. His forehead furrowed as if he suddenly thought or remembered something."Are you related to that Detective?" He paused talking and gazed at Lorcan, whose attention was on me as well."What's his name again?... Detective Isaiah Belmont, that's it, right?" I breathed deeply and nodded. The expression on his face changed and darkened."He's my father-" Lorcan stood up to stop the same man after he pulled out his pistol."Are you out of your mind? Did you bring the Detective's daughter here? What if they managed to follow you here?" "These are all Crimson's ideas," Lorcan answered, murmured, and sat again. The man and I continued to stare at each other as he kept his pistol pointed at me."Put the gun down, Conrad. Sin wouldn't like the idea of you pointing a gun at that girl." Lorcan said meaningfully."You and Sin better make sure that this woman won't bring us harm, Lorcan. Suppose this escape plan goes awry because of that woman. You knew that you were dragging Mallory in this shithole, right?" Conrad said. Lorcan's eyes darkened in oblivion but quickly hid the changes in his expression after he poured wine into his glass.Lorcan gave Conrad a deadpan, "I know."Conrad sat himself and put his gun down on the table. The silence between us and the tension intensified."The floor is yours, Doctor," Conrad said bluntly."We're waiting," says another figure at the table. "The whole secret lies in confusing the enemy so that he cannot fathom our real intent," I said. I stared at each of them and saw a man with dirty blonde hair and glasses hiding a faint smile."Art of war, hmm?" He muttered. He folded his hand and placed his elbow on the table as if I had gotten his entire interest because of what I said."Let's not put sugar-coated words on the plan," the same woman whom I wish to know her name cut me off."That is not a sugar-coated word, baby girl, but techniques that only those who have an intelligence quotient above average can understand, and I think you're excluded from the list." I composed myself after that and tapped her shoulder before I continued."The authorities expected the miscreant to wait on the roads where the conveyance will pass on their way to the courtroom. I'm sure they have already deployed snipers around said roads." I sat on the empty seat in the middle of the long table. It looked like this chair belonged to Sin."Let's not meet their expectation and surpass it rather," I mumbled. The man with glasses clearly had an idea of my plan. I pointed to Conrad, "I want you to kidnap those who'll watch Sin's trial tomorrow. You can find a way to identify who they are, right? It would be better if you'd do that tomorrow while they are on their way to court. If we do it now and their families pile a missing report, it's over for us. The only option that we have was to do it on the same day.""With the help of prosthetics. Miscreant men will replace them. Another thing, the officers guarding the door of the courtroom need to be replaced by someone from Miscreant."I reached for the crystal-like glass container of whiskey and poured a liquor for myself.I turned to the man who was wearing an eyeglasses. He stopped playing with his wineglass and stared back at me as he felt my eyes."You look genius to me, a computer geek maybe?" He grinned and nodded for confirmation.I softly applauded because of that."It's up to you to hack the security system of the entire courtroom as well as the security devices of the NBI agents and the police so that they can't ask for backup at the time of the attack," I said Just like Conrad, he nodded to me and then drained the wine from his glass in one gulp."Do we have someone here who's capable of stealing the court's blueprint? We need to get that and look at it so we can identify our way in case we need to hide when something goes wrong with the plan." Everyone looks at the man on the corner who is engrossed with his cellphoneHe looked up at us and smiled."Can you?" I asked him.He shrugs his shoulder and smiles triumphantly."Stealing? That's an Eul thing. Name anything, and I'll steal it for you," he said with his complacent voice. "I can't believe it. Miscreant Mafia are like groups of bad people who are experts with different fields of crime and wrongdoing, ruled by Sin Cruorem," I muttered to myself."Lorcan, you'll take care of the remaining officers scattered outside the courtroom and in the area near the building itself." I wetted my lower lip."I'll give you your time to plan for your assigned mission so you can execute it well. Remember that all of you can't fail," I added and stood up, but before I could get out, the same woman spoke again."How about me? What will I do?" She asked."You can go fuck yourself or prepare hell for Sin's homecoming." I had already taken a few steps when Lorcan caught up with me."Where are you going?" I turned to face him. "At the Salon? I look so out of place here," I uttered and smiled. I also pointed to the hallway."This is where the devil resides, and I look so innocent for this place and him. I needed to do something about it." I shoo Lorcan with my hand.[Flashback Ends]Artemis Thaleia's PerspectiveI stride towards the courtroom with my head held up high. I crouched to take the key to Sin's handcuffs that were attached to the lifeless body of a police officer. A devilish smile made its way to my lips as my eyes locked in with Sin for a moment.Sin gave me a smug smile. This day will be remembered as the great escape of the King of Sins.I stopped in front of Sin to free him from his handcuffs and leather restraints. "So, what's it like to be free?" I asked him.Sin stood up and ripped his orange shirt unceremoniously. A smile appeared on his lips."Good job, Mi Amore," Sin said in a whispering manner before he pulled me towards him. Our lips met. His lips moved with mine expertly, giving me a new rhythm to follow. Pure bliss sipped through my system as he bit my lower lip, seeking an entrance I gladly gave.I've kissed different men, and I certainly know that I am good in this field, but doing it with Sin made me feel like a newbie as he dominat
Third Person's Pov"What the fuck happened there?" Lorcan asked upon meeting Artemis and Sin outside the building. Sin eyed Artemis Thaleia intently. The woman shrugged her shoulders and went straight to the car parked in front of the building, causing Lorcan to frown. The members of the Miscreant who were involved in the attack have already left to escape. Lorcan was about to leave, too, when he witnessed the explosion of the helicopter a moment ago."That woman." Sin pointed at Artemis. "She got pissed and shot that metal bird. You should have been there, too. It was such a heartbreaking scene I almost cried. She's heartless...and crazy," Sin whispered the last part of his sentence before he laughed like a lunatic. Sin then patted Lorcan's arm, who still didn't seem to understand what had happened fully."Why is she still with us? I thought—""Change of plans, my dear. She'll go with us," Sin countered."Conrad, Eul, and Thayer are waiting for us at the airport," Lorcan said bef
Artemis Thaleia's POV"Hmm, it's so good to be back," Sin said as we stepped out from his private jet."I miss the warm comfort that my king-size bed gives me. The bed I slept on in the NBI was too hard for my liking, and it hurt my back. I can't believe that I stand to sleep at that for a month," Sin said before he wore his aviator glasses and walked to his sports car.I went straight to his car, and before I could move to get inside. Sin drove it away, leaving me behind.I shut my eyes closed and gritted my teeth."I guess you weren't that special after all," Kanoa commented as she flipped her hair and went straight to the Aston Martin that Conrad got into. "I damn hate that woman. One day, I'll find my way to get her out of this miscreant," I whispered.Lorcan and Eul's car pulled away one after the other."Damn it! Are they going to leave me here? I know nothing about Naples aside from the fact that it's one of the many cities in Italy!" I ranted as I watched their cars.I
Artemis Thaleia's POV"Lord Sin's room is on the 6th floor. Kindly press the 6th button, my lady." My eyes went to scan the chateau's extravagant living room with its million-dollar worth of paintings porcelain vintage base; everything that my eyes laid to screams nothing but class and elegance.I quickly turned my eyes to the elevator when I heard it ring. I marched my way towards it.I was about to press that button when I saw the girl I was with standing in front of the elevator."What are you waiting for? Get in.""We aren't allowed to be on the 6th floor if Lord Sin is in there, my lady," she answered. I rolled my eyes and pressed the 6th button. The elevator door opens, and eyes shift to the grand piano where the music is coming from."Sin," I called him nervously. Sin suddenly laughed, then he stopped playing the piano and stood up before he turned to face me."There you are. I missed you, Mi Amor," he said. He trailed my jaws, wearing a manic smile.I shove Sin's hand aw
Third Person's Pov"So..." The same unknown woman who's hiding a smile from Artemis earlier started a small talk."What's the next plan?" She asked, staring at her wine glass. Mallory took a cloth from her lap gently damped it on her lips and spoke, "Nothing, we'll let the situation cool down for a moment. The last incident involving the Miscreant has gained too much attention." Mallory glanced at Artemis with a meaningful glimmer in her eye. Artemis's lips parted and she shrugged after realizing what Mallory meant. The Miscreant killed more than thirty people in the courtroom, but Artemis shooting the helicopter down as well, was an attention-grabbing act that wasn't part of the plan."I just had to do it, sorry not sorry," Artemis blurted out and faked a smile. She glanced at Sin who seemed to not care about his surroundings, then she returned her eyes to Mallory."By the way. How's the wedding preparation going, Li?" The youngest member of Miscreant asked. Alaia Rivalee Campb
Artemis Thaleia's POV"Good evening, my lady." I took my eyes off the elevator that Sin rode back to his room.I turned to look at a woman in her mid-twenties, wearing the same uniform of the servant I'd seen on dinner earlier."I'm Catliona your lady-in-waiting. I'll take you to your room." She mumbled. Instead of taking the elevator, we used the Chateau's grand staircase instead."I'm sorry we had to sort a few things in the room where you'll be staying. Lady Mallory didn't tell us right away that the Miscreant had a new member which is why we haven't prepared anything for you," she mumbled. My eyes darted on the paintings that were hanging on the wall. I stopped walking when my eyes landed on a world-famous one.I came closer and tried to examine the painting, I knew nothing about painting but this one looked like a legit painting of Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa."Is this?" I tried to ask."Bring these boxes into Artemis' room and you can leave us alone afterward," Mallory sa
Third Person's Pov"Don't hurt me, I am your friend." Sin gave Mallory a goofy grin as Mallory pulled a small knife from her sling bag.Her name was embroidered on it in a cursive form."Since we have a lot of ongoing experiments here. I decided to tighten the security." Mallory pressed a passcode on a glass-like screen.Sin looked around then looked back to Mallory."Those snakes waiting at Isla Serpiente's shore are they not enough?" He asked her.Isla Serpiente is home to a species of the world's venomous snakes and will welcome anyone on the shores of the island.Miscreant took advantage of the nesting of hordes of snakes here to build a laboratory owned by them. The walls that prevent the snakes from coming within the laboratory's vicinity are state-of-the-art fences with the capability to produce a high voltage of electricity that will electelectrocutedne who tries to climb it.The only way to get to the laboratory is to ride a chopper that lands on top of the laboratory's hel
Artemis Thaleia's POV"You can do it, Artemis," I whispered to myself.I stood up properly and tried to harden my hands that were holding the gun. I close my eyes and breathe deeply before pulling its trigger, but like before I missed my target.I put the shotgun down on the table and curse."Damn it! What the hell is wrong with you? A sixteen-year-old can hit the target but why can't you?!" I ranted to myself frustratedly."Maybe using a scalpel and throwing it on the target, would be a lot easier for you, Doctor." I heard Thayer's baritone voice from behind. I opened my eyes and frowned at him.He tried to tap my shoulder but I was quick to shove his hands. He chuckled once more."I swear when I'm done with these fucking targets, I'll whack your head!" I scoffed as his chuckles got on my nerves.Thayer took the shotgun and loaded it with another bullet. The expression in his eyes was serious. I tried to take it from him but he wouldn't let me."Give it to me."No, Artemis. Y
