Chapter Six

A startled scream came out when he spoke behind me. His voice was cold, the darkness in it sending a shiver down my back.

“You think I would allow him to touch you.”

I spun around, using the door to hold me up. I lick my lips and lift my chin, hoping my voice didn't waver. “You don’t get a say.” Note to self, remember demons can teleport through locked doors.

“You’re wrong, little human, you’ve been mine since I tasted your blood on my tongue.” His dark eyes dragged down my body and I repressed another shiver while I stood up straighter.

“You mean the night where you then tried to kill me 5 seconds later? If that’s how you treat people, I think I’ll pass.”

Caspain stepped closer, moving till he was in front of me and his arm rested above my head. I held my breath, trying to reduce the friction of my chest rising and falling against his. “I’m a patient man, I’ll wait till you accept it.”
