K A I D A

The air outside the packhouse is thick with the scent of wolf—dozens of them. The parking lot is lined with vehicles, some armored, some rusted and barely holding together, but they all mean the same thing. Reinforcements. Allies. The cavalry.

They came.

One by one, they answered the call. The Velmora pack was the first to arrive, bringing with them their stoic Alpha and his stone-faced warriors. Then came the Duskpine pack, all dark clothes and heavier accents, followed by the Corren Hollow wolves—lean, wild-eyed, unpredictable. Finally, the Tyrells rolled in, their presence as bold and guarded as I expected, especially with Lennox at the head.

Octavius stands beside me at the edge of the steps, arms folded. I can feel the energy radiating off of him—cautious pride. For the first time, Raven Moon doesn’t feel like the last line of defense. It feels like a fortress. One worth fighting for.

Korra steps out onto the front landing, all black leather and posture made of steel. H

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 136

K A I D AThe first thing I feel is the ache in my spine. Then the sting in my lungs.I suck in a breath like I’ve been drowning and just hit the surface—shaky, desperate, dry. The air is cold. Heavy. Tainted with iron and dust. I blink against the dark, my vision slow to clear. My limbs feel heavier than they should. My fingertips tingle like they’ve been asleep too long.Something’s wrong.I sit up too fast. The room tilts, then rights itself. My back presses into something hard—stone. Cold. The floor beneath me is the same, gritty and unforgiving. My clothes are torn. My arms are sore. There are faint burns on my wrists that look like shackles.I’m in a cell.I push myself upright, breath uneven, heart already pounding. My mind scrambles for answers. What happened? The attack. Lilith. Lucien. The courtyard. I remember the fight. The claws. The blood.I remember her smile. The last thing I saw was Octavius… bleeding… Korra too…My chest tightens.“Korra,” I breathe, twisting to look

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 135

K A I D AThere’s no time to think. No time to breathe.Lucien’s forces pour in like a wave of black and silver, tearing through our defenses with a precision we weren’t ready for. It’s not just brute force—it’s a slaughter dressed like strategy. These wolves aren’t wild. They’re trained. Programmed. And worse—they’re here for blood. But they’re not here for all of us.They’re here for Korra. And Octavius.I see it in the way the front lines split, not toward our stronghold, not toward the vulnerable, but directly toward them—toward the heart of this pack.Octavius meets the charge like a storm given shape, ripping through Lycans with a violence I’ve only seen once—back when we were cornered near the cliffs. But even now, even with all his strength, he’s slowing. They keep coming, faster than we can kill them, stronger than any Lycans should be.And Korra—she’s holding her ground with everything she’s got. Her claws are drenched, her black armor streaked with blood. But she’s limping

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 134

K A I D AThe morning is quiet. Too quiet, if I’m being honest.I’m sitting on the back porch of the Raven Moon packhouse with a mug of coffee gone cold in my hands. The sky’s gray, the kind of overcast that makes the air feel heavier than it is. Crows circle overhead in wide, lazy loops. Something about them sets me on edge. I don’t trust birds with that kind of patience.Inside, I can hear faint voices—Korra and Jace arguing about logistics. Valerie’s laugh a floor up. Someone dropping something heavy near the training wing. All normal. All routine. But my gut is screaming that something is wrong. We’ve been planning the next move. Lucien’s facility. The scouts Korra’s sending into the cliffs. The rotation of allied forces stationed here to help guard Raven Moon. Everyone’s trying to stay busy. Trying to stay focused. And yet…The back of my neck won’t stop tingling.I set the mug down and rise to my feet, stretching my limbs. My boots crunch against the gravel as I walk out to the

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 132

KORRAThe terrain starts to shift the deeper we go into the mountain pass. Trees thin out. The dirt beneath our boots turns hard and uneven, flecked with patches of ice and stone. This part of the Halverin range hasn’t been touched in years—not by civilization anyway. It feels abandoned. Forgotten. Like something died here and was never buried. We don’t speak much. There’s too much riding on this, and we’re too exposed for comfort. Even our footsteps are quieter than usual, like the air itself is watching us. Valerie walks ahead of me, her gaze sharp, her body coiled like a blade. Jace and Lucas hold the rear, their eyes scanning everything, while Reno keeps close to Anita, both of them tense but steady.I don’t like it here. Not just because it’s cold and quiet—but because something about the silence feels staged. Like a trap that hasn’t been sprung yet. Like Lucien is somewhere nearby, listening. We pause at a rocky outcrop and take cover behind the ridge. From here, we can see part

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 131

K A I D AThe stars blur.Everything is still around me, frozen in the moment like the world is holding its breath. And the voice—her voice—it’s back.Kaida…It’s soft but firm, the way waves lap a shoreline—relentless and ancient.“You again,” I whisper. “What are you?”There’s no answer.Only the wind brushing past me, and the sharp chill crawling down my spine.Then—Concentrate.It comes again, closer now. Right in my skull, threading through my thoughts like a whisper laced with lightning. My breath stutters.Concentrate, she says again. Don’t fear it. Don’t run from it. You’re stronger when you let go.“Let go of what?”My voice shakes. I hate that it does. There’s silence. And then—A pull in my chest. Something ancient, something deep. Like someone reaching through time and memory and blood just to get to me.There are others…“Others?” I echo.Others like you. Hidden. Broken. Waiting to be found. You must prepare them. There is a war coming.I press my palm to the railing to

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 130

K A I D ABy the time we return to Raven Moon, the sun is high, the clouds thick with the promise of rain. The trucks crunch against gravel as we pull into the courtyard, and everything feels heavier now.The silence. The air.Me.The others start unloading supplies and clearing out the back vehicles. Korra is already speaking with Valerie off to the side. I can tell by her posture—stiff but composed—that she’s processing everything that’s happened.I am too.Or trying to.My boots hit the ground hard as I jump down from the truck. Octavius is already waiting near the steps of the packhouse, his arms folded, jaw tight. When he catches my eye, he doesn’t say anything right away.We don’t need words. Not yet.Everyone’s tense. The fight, the ambush, Rowan’s confession. None of it’s left us untouched.I take a breath, adjust the knife at my belt, and head inside. We gather in the main hall—me, Korra, Octavius, Jace, Valerie, Anita, Reno, and Lucas. Everyone who’s been here from the start

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 129

K A I D AThe adrenaline from the fight has long burned off, leaving nothing but exhaustion and a hollow, buzzing tension under my skin. My muscles ache in that slow, deep way that comes after you've burned through every ounce of energy and are still somehow standing. The courtyard is quieter now, though the energy of the aftermath still hangs thick in the air, like smoke that refuses to clear.Somehow, Korra and I find a quiet spot near the edge of the Tyro pack's courtyard, tucked behind a low stone wall half-covered in ivy. It's away from the commotion. The rest of the pack is still moving—patching wounds, securing the prisoners, rebuilding the busted gates that were torn apart when the enemy stormed through. There’s a distant clatter of tools, low murmurs of conversation, the occasional sharp bark of an order. But over here—it's just us now. For the first time since the chaos.Korra leans back against the wall, arms folded across her chest. Her black clothes are still dusty from t

  • Taming the Rogue Luna   Chapter 128

K A I D AThe packhouse smells like blood, sweat and fear. Not the kind that clings after a simple fight—but something heavier. Darker. We are scattered across the battlefield, recuperating and helping clean up the aftermath of such a vicious battle. Many are injured, but thankfully her helaing abilities have already kicked in, those that needed extra medical attention being hauled of to the infirmary for aid. Thankfully, there were no fatalities on our end. The Tyro Pack has always been strong, powerful, the only other pack I can think of that rivals the Raven Moon Pack, aside from the Xarano Pack of course. The others arrive within the hour, Anita, Sera, Valerie, Reno, Jace—all of them fresh from the Xarano, their faces tight with urgency. They're Lycans, pure and strong, but even they look unsettled when they take in the battered state of Tyro's front yard. Their worry was for Korra and I, and even though I am now the Luna of the Xarano Pack, they still look at me as a leader of th
