Jayden's POV

New environment. One rule to follow to the letter:

Come back a qualified medical doctor for the pack.

Carl sighed before I did.

Horrible. Hockey and the bike had been the only pleasures we both had.

Gosh. An Alpha shouldn't settle for just sport when he could be more. My father's order remained solid.

"That's quite a smile on your lips." Paul said sacastically as he walked into my room, and I dropped onto my bed.

"You didn't.."

Before he could spill, I had to stop him. I already knew his complaint.

"Yes. I didn't attend neurology. She isn't in that class."

She? Paul exclaimed like I had spoken a different language.

"The biker girl. Charlie." I replied lazily, glaring at his weak brain.

"This newfound interest of yours is crazy. It has never been a girl for you."

"I know. More reason I got her assigned to me as a guide."

"That's not needed. What if she falls for you like they always do?"

"Nice. So I won her title and might as well win her heart. Crush that spirit of hers." I said with a hiss. Why was she so cocky? Agatha, a girl who had been trailing me since I arrived had told me about her;

"Do you know she doesn't use the female bathroom with us?"

Really?

“Neither does she share her room with anyone”.

"What's so special about her privacy?" Agatha had rolled her eyes, jealousy flickering between them.

Even I want to see what's special.

"Alpha, from the playhouse." Paul passed me an envelope.

"He cleared his details. Guess he was ashamed?" Paul said, settling into a chair to light his cigarette.

"Ashamed? He had the best hole ever." I tugged my fingers into my hair. That was the first one to make me want a next time with him.

"Good news. He studies here at Frost. And if he puts up your jacket for sale, then he could be easily traced,he left with it after you ripped his shirt."

That was another option. But would he really want to? That jacket cost some good bucks. So I got hopeful.

"The ice has called on us." Paul teased.

Yeah, it was 4 pm finally. I took my trainee bag and left for the rink with him by my side.

"Woah… there's a traffic because of you!" Agatha jumped into my space the moment she saw me.

"Really? Heard Frost got killer players."

"Currently nope. Not when there's an Omega for a quaterback."

"Who?" I asked, barely sparing her attention. I should have discarded her, but not yet.

"Talk of the devil." She sneered.

My gaze locked on Charlie, and Carl growled happily within me. He liked competition just like I did. The silver-haired boy who leeched around her made her grin sheepishly to whatever he was saying to her, I strained my Alpha hearing to pick up what they said, but she rolled her eyes at me like she knew.

Fuck those blockers in your blood. I cursed in my head. Just how much I hated her already.

"Charlie's friend. Once my ex. I dumped him." Agatha said, swaying her ponytail to the sides, I sensed she had been the one dumped, so I chuckled.

"Is he dating her?"

"Dating? I dunno, but I feel he fucks that bitch. She's got no boyfriend, just him around always."

I watched Greg lean close to whisper something in Charlie's ear, and something hot coiled in my chest.

Before I knew what I was doing, I collided into him, intentionally. Hard enough that he fell face flat on the floor.

"Crap!" He yelled, punching the floor.

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Charlie barked at me. Those blue eyes didn't even land properly on me. She had crouched down to him on the floor.

"Move. Make way!" The Red Cross team paved through the crowd and helped him sit on the bleachers. Charlie protectively held his palm while he winced from the methylated spirit on his forehead.

"Alpha, the coach wants to see you." Paul came and whispered.

The moment I walked in, could see the joy on the face of the coach and the players,if for one thing, Jayden's profile has always been top notch.

"Great to have you here, Jayden. So your profile had you playing a number seven?" The coach spoke tall, dense, muscular but an inch shorter than me.

"Yes, Coach."

"Okay. We are having a training session in a few minutes, so I will like to welcome you here as you take up the number seven jersey for the team."

"Totally honored." I bowed slightly.

The other teammates gave me an official welcome on board with handshakes. Then we filed out for the ice. Rocking this sand-yellow vest and grey shorts was perfect. My eyes searched the bleachers until they found her.

Pushing her glasses into position. Greg in her arm. Yeah, I knew she gritted her teeth at the sight of me.

The game began. Skating. Blocking attacks. Counterattacks. Striking just to the goalpost. No mistake. No almost.

The bleachers erupted with rounds of screams and handclaps at the ninety minutes' end of the game.

"This is just to officially introduce the new phase of hockey in Frost College. Jayden Williams is the official number seven!"

The coach announced, lifting my right hand in success. I watched them adjust roughly on their seats. Greg couldn't blink, and I smirked.

Just the beginning of getting you out of my head.

Agatha rushed into my arms, and I planted a kiss on her cheek.

"So you are my boyfriend now?" She asked, too excited.

I felt like crushing her bones, but that couldn't happen.

I don't like girls. I replied, simple and curt. But she still clung to my arm. Now half the school camped to get my autograph. I took my gaze to Charlie, pulling Greg toward the exit.

Does he want a fight?

Too bad.

After the autograph seekers dispersed, I found Charlie at the edge of the parking lot, pulling Greg toward the dorms. I followed.

"Is that all you could pull?"

I got pushed to the wall, my hands pulled back.

"Isn't that too firm for a girl?" I asked, flipping her against the wall, pressing hard. But she had a good grip.

"I was your goddamn opponent and you won. Why drag him into this?"

"Him?" I chuckled, loosening my grip on her wrist. "You should always be by my side. Not his. He's just a fucking Omega."

"He's my friend. Plus, I like that Omega, not an audacious Alpha."

"He's as good as off hockey currently. If you don't mind another bike race? You beat me, he reclaims his position. You lose, he's out for real. And if you draw… well, he finds a place on the bench. Permanently."

I placed the bet. She buried her eyes deep into mine.

"Obviously, you want to meet Charlie for real."

"Yes. Not with your heart beating so much for me." I closed the space between us, laid my hands on her waist. She trembled. My wolf growled like it was on heat.

"Which chamber of this heart beats for me? Should I come to your room for the assignment?" I whispered seductively to her sensitive earlobe, picking the strand of her hair tenderly to the side.

"Don't you dare.."

"How was he? How did he do it to you to take the scent off?" I played a smile on my lips, but it didn't meet my eyes. I didn't like the thought of her aching down there from another guy's touch.

“Your scent struck me last night..”her eyes widened”it was a boy”I teased and She pushed me off. "Pick your date and location." She slammed.

"Hey, what did you and that girl speak about?" Paul asked, falling into step beside me as I walked back to the dorms.

"She agreed to a bet with me." I shoved my hands into my pockets. "Can't wait to have her against the wheels again."

"And Greg?"

I thought about the way Charlie had crouched over him, her hands on his, her eyes full of worry.

"Greg will be off the team by next week," I said. "One way or another."

Paul let out a low whistle. "You've got it bad, Alpha."

I didn't answer. Because the truth was, I didn't know what it was. Just that I wanted her close. And I wanted him gone.

It's crazy how I'm calling you from the hospital to tell you to go to school." That was Paul's mind linking to me.School without Charlie? Carl asked.I rolled my eyes at his words. You be serious from today, okay? She's just a bike rival. Got it?I left the hospital before Charlie could say another word and soon, I was in school, and my eyes flew around for a glimpse of Agatha. She dared cross the line."Here comes the greatest biker of our time…"Good. She was throwing a party at the corner, her friends giggling about it."Why did you try to implicate me?" I asked, my voice audible to her friends."What are you saying?" She wanted to lie, but her eyes gave her away."Charlie's really tough. You won last time, and most people say it's sheer luck. She's a girl, probably was on her cycle. Well, she wouldn't be on her cycle for s

My voice was weak."Do you feel pains? Should I call the doctor?"I shook my head no. My eyes watched the room carefully. It was a hospital. The antiseptic smell was overwhelming. Then a thought almost made me pass out.Did I get undressed?Fuck. I had always been careful never to be hospitalized."Where did your mind go? Did you hit your head? Psychiatric or where? Should we—"I caught Greg's face, red with panic. I had to hit him hard on the shoulder."Ouch… you're too rigid for a girl." He groaned.I hissed, turning to spare him a glance.
