Chapter 93

Naz and I stared at each other while we were still outside. I could see how he was stopping himself from smiling after Fenris just walked out.

I also started getting hesitant about whether to trust him or not. What could I say? I never thought Gonzalo was capable of betraying us but he did. You really wouldn't know people's intentions until their true colours were finally revealed. I sighed, either way, Nazarus was my friend. Gonzalo was not.

"I'm sorry for that. Fenris was just stressed lately, you know." I stuck the strands of my hair behind my ear. "We just discovered that Gonzalo was a traitor and he tried to kill him. I'm pretty sure Fenris is devastated 'til now. I couldn't blame him."

Nazarus nodded. "I'm used to Fenris, it's fine." He chuckled. "You don't have to explain to him but thanks for your concern." He then winked.

I rolled my eyes. "I'm not concerned. I just feel sorry."

"Isn't that what concern means?"

"No." My brows crossed. "There's a slight difference, anyway—"
