ROSELINE’S POV

I stared down at the photograph again, my hands trembling badly, my mind refusing to fully accept what my eyes were clearly showing me.

“My mother died when I was small,” I whispered, more to myself than to Florian, though he stood close beside me, his own expression tight with confusion. “I barely remember her, Florian. Just small pieces, her laugh, the smell of her perfume. How can this be her? How can she possibly be standing there with Adrian, looking so happy, so young?”

FLORIAN’S POVThe moment Adrian spoke, Gabriel’s men shifted instantly, moving quietly but decisively into tighter formation around us, their weapons raised steadily, eyes flicking rapidly between the armed men now surrounding the room on every side. The air grew thick, suffocating almost, every breath feeling heavier than the last.“Nobody move,” Gabriel said quietly, though his voice carried a steel edge beneath the calm.Adrian’s men held their positions, awaiting further instruction, their expressions blank, professional, clearly well trained and unbothered by the tension crackling dangerously around us.“This doesn’t have to end badly,” I said carefully, my eyes locked steadily on Adrian, searching for any sign of hesitation I might be able to use.“You’re right,” Adrian said calmly, his earlier composure fully restored now, cold and controlled once again. “It could end very simply, actually. One quick decision on my part, and every single problem I’ve faced these past months dis

  • Tempted by my Godlike boss   CHAPTER 120: A cold offer

FLORIAN’S POVA soft hum echoed suddenly through the darkness, and a moment later, dim emergency lights flickered weakly to life along the hallway walls, casting everything in a pale, eerie glow.Adrian stepped calmly into view from the shadows, his hands tucked casually into his pockets, an easy, unbothered smile resting on his face like none of this troubled him in the slightest.“Forgive the theatrics,” he said smoothly, his voice carrying that same calm, unsettling tone I remembered from the record store all those months ago. “I find darkness has a way of reminding people exactly how little control they actually have. Every light in this house, every lock, every camera, all of it answers to me, and me alone.”“You cut the power,” Gabriel said, his weapon still raised steadily, though his eyes flicked warily toward the shadows still lingering at the edges of the room.“Of course I did,” Adrian said simply, spreading his hands slightly, as if the answer should have been obvious. “I

FLORIAN’S POV“Florian,” Roseline said again, her voice tight with fear, “what does it say?”I forced myself to find my voice, though it came out rough, unsteady..Your mother had to leave due to the opposition she was facing within the family and the way she was maltreated and assaulted “So, she was born into your family,” she whispered; her voice shaking badly now. “But raised herself.”“It looks that way,” I said, my own mind still struggling to fully process everything unfolding in front of us.Gabriel cleared his throat quietly from where he stood nearby, still holding a thick folder in his hands, his expression grim. “There’s one more thing,” he said carefully. “I found this tucked further back, behind everything else.”He held the folder out toward us, and I noticed immediately the name printed clearly across the front tab.Sinclair Moore. My stomach twisted uncomfortably as I took it from him, my fingers trembling slightly as I opened the cover. Inside were pages of documents,

I’d recognize that smile anywhere, even after all these years.”I turned the photograph over slowly, searching for any writing, any clue that might explain what I was looking at, though the back remained frustratingly blank, offering no an

  • Tempted by my Godlike boss   CHAPTER 116: Behind closed doors

FLORIAN’S POVWe stayed frozen for several long, tense seconds, watching the faint light move slowly across the grounds, before it finally disappeared around the far side of the property, swallowed up by darkness once again.“Security patrol,” Gabriel whispered finally, releasing a slow breath. “Automated, probably on a timer. Didn’t seem like anyone reacted to us.”“Are you sure?” Roseline whispered, her grip still tight around my hand.“If they’d spotted us, we wouldn’t still be standing here,” Gabriel said quietly. “Come on, quickly, before another patrol comes through.”We moved carefully through the smaller gate, slipping into the shadows along the outer wall of the main house. Gabriel’s men worked quickly, disabling a small side door’s lock with practiced efficiency, and within moments, we slipped quietly inside. The interior of the house felt strangely cold despite its elegance, dim lights casting long shadows across expensive furniture covered in thin layers of dust, like the
