Roseline’s POV
I moved my body to the beat of the music not caring about the flimsy material of my dress that played peek-a-boo with my underwear.
The dance floor was packed as we all danced and swayed, sweat glistening on our skin.
But yet the hair at the back of my neck stood on alert.
I felt a burning gaze on me.
My eyes searched amongst the large crowd, and that was when I saw him.
His gaze was zoned in on me as he watched me dance; it gave me liquid courage, along with the few shots I had.
I rocked my hips and allowed my own hands to roam
My body slowly, while I maintained eye contact with this stranger who looked like he was about to devour me whole and consume me.
I noticed his lips part a bit, just the go-ahead I needed.
He was my catch for the night.
I moved to the bar, and the bartender raised his eyebrows when he saw me seated.
“It’s my last cup for the night.”
I half pleaded? I was sure he was looking out for me and didn’t want a repeat of the last time when I stripped naked.
“I would have whatever the lady is having.”
A cold yet soothing voice sounded from behind me.
Bingo!
I turned to face the stranger, but my breath hitched immediately.
It was a good thing I was seated because my limbs grew weak just seeing him up close.
Time to play.
“I am not sure you would enjoy a pineapple martini.”
His eyes remained on me as he spoke, “Must taste good.”
“The drink or me?”
“Both.”
“How would you know when you haven’t tried it?”
“We can fix that.”
This man wasn't even trying and yet my soaked pantries said otherwise.
He took a sip of the drink, and a soft groan escaped his throat.
“Here I have tasted it.”
“How… does it taste?” My breathing became erratic and the club felt hotter than before.
“Good…” He moved closer to me until I was right between his legs, but there’s one more thing left to taste.”
He leaned over and took my lips in his devouring me while not caring about the crowd around us.
Neither did I. We kissed and it felt like the whole world became silent for a minute.
He shoved his tongue into mine as his teeth bit my lips, it was a mixture of pain and sweetness.
“Your place or mine.” He asked before taking my lips again.
“Yours.” I managed to reply in between.
“Let’s go.”
We got in a cab, after he had barked out the direction to the driver.
He pulled up the blind, affording us some privacy.
His lips were on mine again as he placed me gently on his thigh.
I could feel his erection bulging through his pants.
It took every ounce of self-control left in me not to touch it.
His hand roamed my body, leaving a trail of heat with every touch.
When he got to my waist he tugged on the string of my thong and shifted it to the side.
He cupped my ass cheeks in his hand before he pushed his finger through my sex.
His finger slipped through easily with how soaking wet I was.
“Fuck!” He muttered into my ear as he inhaled my scent at the same time.
Embarrassment flushed through my cheeks at how my body responded to his touch.
He started moving his fingers slowly allowing me to adjust to his pace bit by bit.
He slid a second one inside, increasing his thrust causing me to tip off the edge.
He caught my moans in his mouth as his kiss silenced them.
My body shook as my orgasm rolled over me, and he held me steady on his lap resting his head on mine.
We both chuckled, “Do you think he heard us?”
I was referring to the driver who drove quietly.
“I don’t care if he did.”
I removed myself from his lap and arranged my dress as best I could.
“You are so addictive.” He whispered.
“Why don't we save the rest for later?”
“Good idea.” I giggled seeing the obvious distress he was in as his erection still poked through.
The car came to a halt.
“This is your apartment?”
“Yes, I just moved into the city so a friend of mine owns the apartment complex, so he allowed me to lease at a lesser price,”
“Thats nice of him.”
We took the elevator to his floor.
Every step I took closer to his flat built anticipation, my panties were beyond wet, it was completely soaked trickling slowly between my thighs.
This wasn't my first hook-up with a stranger, but he felt different like a mixture of mystery and danger.
He unlocked the door with a key card while his other hand rested just below my waistline.
“This is your last chance to back out.”
“Hell no!” I remarked, causing him to smile.
Immediately we crossed the door, our hands were on each other, his lips on mine.
One of his hands fisted my hair as I tugged on his belt buckle to break free his hard d*ck.
He carried me in his arms, positioning me right at where his d*ck stood still hard.
He opened another door, which I guess was to the bedroom, I wasn't sure because I wasn't looking.
He placed me gently on the bed, pushed my underwear aside, and in a single thrust he was buried deep inside me.
He allowed me some minutes for my body to get used to his size, before he began moving inside me.
We spent the entire night worshipping each other's bodies, orgasm after orgasm.
I lost count of how many times I orgasmed, this has to be the most in my entire life all in one night.
Sleep eventually caught on, dragging me under.
When I woke up the next morning my entire body was sore, I let out a groan forcing myself to get up.
The stranger I just had the best night of my life with wasn't present.
Thank goodness it could make leaving less awkward.
I had already broken one of my rules by sleeping over at his place.
I searched around for my dress and underwear, quickly putting them on.
I tiptoed my way to his front door, just as I was about to open the door, it clicked open from the other side.
“Fuck.” I muttered beneath my breath, but I was sure he heard.
"Running away?” He sidestepped me as I entered the apartment. That was when I noticed the brown paper bag and coffee cup in his hands.
Shit! He can't be getting me breakfast.
I cut straight to the chase, “Last night was fun, but it will never happen again. It was a one-time thing, I don't do long-term and I certainly don't fuck the same guy twice.”
FLORIAN’S POVWe stayed frozen for several long, tense seconds, watching the faint light move slowly across the grounds, before it finally disappeared around the far side of the property, swallowed up by darkness once again.“Security patrol,” Gabriel whispered finally, releasing a slow breath. “Automated, probably on a timer. Didn’t seem like anyone reacted to us.”“Are you sure?” Roseline whispered, her grip still tight around my hand.“If they’d spotted us, we wouldn’t still be standing here,” Gabriel said quietly. “Come on, quickly, before another patrol comes through.”We moved carefully through the smaller gate, slipping into the shadows along the outer wall of the main house. Gabriel’s men worked quickly, disabling a small side door’s lock with practiced efficiency, and within moments, we slipped quietly inside. The interior of the house felt strangely cold despite its elegance, dim lights casting long shadows across expensive furniture covered in thin layers of dust, like the
FLORIAN’S POVI stared at Roseline for a long moment, her eyes fierce and unwavering despite the fear still trembling beneath the surface. Everything in me screamed to keep her far away from the danger waiting for us, yet another part of me, the part that had watched her break down in hospital hallways and hide fear behind forced smiles too many times already, understood exactly what she meant.“I’m done being left behind,” she said again, quieter this time, though no less firm. “I’m done sitting at home, waiting for a phone call that tells me whether you’re alive or not. If something happens tonight, I want to be there. Not stuck somewhere else, imagining the worst.”I reached up slowly, cupping her face gently in my hands, my thumb brushing softly against her cheek. “You scare me more than Adrian does sometimes,” I admitted quietly.“Good,” she said, a small, fierce smile tugging at her lips despite everything. “Then you know exactly how I feel every single time you walk out that do
FLORIAN’S POVGabriel drove fast, weaving quickly through the late-night streets while Roseline and I sat tensely in the back seat, neither of us saying much, the earlier warmth between us replaced completely now by cold, gripping fear.“Where was he found?” I asked, breaking the silence.“An alley, a few blocks from the old part of town,” Gabriel said, his eyes fixed firmly on the road. “One of my men was doing a routine patrol, spotted him barely conscious, badly beaten. He’s already at the hospital now.”“How bad is it?” Roseline asked quietly from beside me, her hand gripping mine tightly.“Bad enough,” Gabriel admitted grimly. “But he’s alive. That’s what matters right now.”We arrived at the hospital quickly, rushing through the entrance, Gabriel leading us straight toward the emergency wing where Fredrick had been taken. A nurse stopped us just outside his room, her expression cautious.“He’s stable for now,” she said, “but he’s suffered severe trauma. Broken ribs, a concussion
ROSELINE’S POVFlorian had barely slept in days. I watched him from the kitchen doorway, hunched over his laptop at the dining table, papers scattered everywhere around him, his eyes red-rimmed and heavy with exhaustion. Between the board meeting, the case against Adrian, Fredrick still missing, and my father fading more each day, I could see him slowly breaking apart at the seams, though he refused to admit it out loud.“You need to rest,” I said gently, walking over to stand beside him.“I can’t,” he muttered, not even looking up from the screen, his fingers moving quickly across the keyboard. “The board meeting is in two days, Roseline. I need to have everything prepared, every answer ready, or they’ll vote me out completely.”“Florian,” I said softly, placing my hand gently on his shoulder. “You’ve been at this for hours. You barely slept last night either. You’re going to burn yourself out.”“I don’t have a choice,” he snapped, shrugging my hand off sharply, his voice sharper tha
FLORIAN’S POVDiane called back early the next morning, earlier than I expected, her voice tired but resolute over the phone.“I talked to the detective,” she said. “We’ve decided to move forward and file what we have tonight.”Relief flooded through me instantly, though her tone still carried a note of caution that kept me from fully relaxing.“But Florian,” she continued, “I need you to understand something first. Without Fredrick’s testimony, this case is weaker than it should be. Everything we have, the bank records, the photographs, your father’s letter, it’s strong circumstantial evidence, but it’s not the same as having a living witness who can place Adrian directly at the planning stages of the fire.”“I understand,” I said. “But we don’t have Fredrick right now. We have to work with what we’ve got.”“I agree,” Diane said. “I just want you prepared. Adrian’s lawyers, if he has good ones, and I’m sure he does, will attack every gap in this case relentlessly. It might not be eno
FLORIAN’S POVThe bang echoed again, sharp and violent against the glass, jolting both of us fully upright, the warmth from moments earlier vanishing instantly, replaced by cold, immediate fear.“What was that?” Roseline whispered, her voice trembling as she clutched the blanket tightly against her chest.“Stay here,” I said quickly, already pulling on a pair of sweatpants, my heart pounding as I moved cautiously toward the window.“Florian, don’t,” she said, fear clear in her voice.“I need to see what it is,” I said firmly, though my own pulse raced uncomfortably as I approached the curtain.I grabbed the edge carefully, pulling it back slowly, my eyes scanning the darkness outside. At first, I saw nothing unusual, just the quiet night settling over our property. Then my gaze dropped slightly, and my stomach turned violently at what I saw.A dead bird hung nailed directly to the outside window frame, its wings spread unnaturally wide, dark blood smeared thickly beneath it, staining
