I had less than ten minutes to get to her house, ten minutes to catch her before she leaves me for ever. Am I being dramatic? Maybe but it’s been too long and I can’t let it go on even more.

My phone began to ring again, I glanced at the caller I’d to see Kai’s name displayed on the front screen. I put my AirPods into my ear and swiped right.

“Where are you? Are you almost there?” Kia rushes out. I roll my eyes just as I take a turn. Why in God’s name does the police station have to be so far from her house. I let out a frustrated growl when I approach the traffic light, stopping the car.

I have less than five minutes to go. “I’m almost at hers. I really hope she’s still there. God, I can’t take it if she’s not there.” My heart beat was going a hundred mile per second on the thought of not meeting her there. I would simply not be able to stand it.

“Good luck!” Kai cuts the call. I gnawed know my lower lip as I look out the windshield, the numbed still going slowly. I
