LOGIN“So, tell me, Anna, is that what you want? A weakling who can’t protect you? Who can’t even make you laugh like I can?” His other hand comes up to cup Anna’s face, his thumb brushing over her bottom lip. “You deserve better,” he says softly. A shiver runs through Anna’s body. She started to feel a bit excited, not completely sure why. Was it the intimate proximity? Was it the way he was touching her and looking at her? Or was it because he sounded so jealous. She had never seen Zack jealous before, she had only seen his cruel side, and she started wondering if there was more to him than she knew. She shook her head lightly, trying to dispel such foolish thoughts. Just because she enjoyed the type of anime where the bad boy, delinquent, softened and swept a girl off her feet, did not mean she was foolish enough to think such things could happen in real life, especially not with someone like Zack, not after ten years of knowing him. And not with someone like herself... “Well, then it is a good thing that he is not my boyfriend!” she said loudly. The words came out before she could even think about saying them. Frustration boiled inside her, but she was not exactly sure why.
Zack’s green eyes widened at her outburst, a flicker of something unreadable crossed his face. For a moment, he seemed taken aback by her volume and the finality in her tone. His grip on her shoulders loosened slightly, though he did not let go completely. “Not your boyfriend?” he echoed, his voice softer now, almost vulnerable. “You are serious?” he searched her brown eyes, looking for any hint of deception. The rain continued to fall, dripping from his wet blond hair onto his face and mingling with the water already there. “So, you are not interested in him?” Zack pressed, his thumb still tracing the line of her jaw. “You do not like him? You do not want to be with him?” his questions came out rapidly, a desperate need for reassurance in his voice. He seemed to be latching onto her words like a lifeline, hoping they were true.
For a moment, Anna hesitated, considering what would happen if she confirmed that she did not like Mark, but she had no other choice, otherwise she might remain out here on the street against this cold fence all evening. “No, I told you, we are just friends. So will you let go already?” A slow, relieved smile spread across Zack’s face. He finally released her shoulders, his hands falling to his side. The tension seemed to drain out of him, replaced by smug satisfaction. Anna sighed in relief, hoping she could get home and forget all about this encounter. “Just friends," he repeated, nodding slowly. “Good. That is... Good.” He leaned against the fence next to Anna, his body still close enough that she could feel the heat radiating from him despite his wet clothes. He looked down at her, a playful glint in his green eyes. Anna’s brown eyes flickered down the road to her house. “So, if Mark is not your boyfriend, does that mean you’re still available?” Zack said calmly. Anna looked back at him surprised. She was not expecting this at all. Was Zack interested in her?
Zack’s hand came up to tuck a strand of wet brown hair behind her ear, his fingers lingering on her skin. “Maybe you need a real man to show you what you are missing.” Zack’s voice was seductive, dangerously seductive. For a moment Anna imagined it, his lips on hers, his hands... His body... She shoved the vivid images away, trying to focus on the present. Expecting it was a joke or maybe hoping it was. “Seriously?” she asked, surprised. Her clothes became soaked due to the rain, making her grey jersey almost see through. She squeezed her legs together and leaned back against the fence, hoping Zack would not notice the state of her jersey or the growing moisture between her legs that had nothing to do with the rain. For a moment she considered taking the opportunity to run home. Her house was right there...
Zack’s gaze dropped, his green eyes widening slightly as he noticed her grey jersey had become transparent. He could see the outline of her black bra, and a faint blush crept up his neck. He quickly looked away, clearing his throat. “Yeah, seriously,” he said, trying to maintain his usual bravado but failing slightly. “Why not? I am better than any of those anime-loving nerds you hang out with.” For some reason, this answer frustrated Anna. ‘Why not?’ What kind of answer is that. The whole thing seemed unsatisfactory, or something like that. Anna stood straight, taking her weight off the fence, ready to start walking, then Zack pushed himself off the fence, closing the distance between them. His hands found her hips and pulled her flush against him. Anna could feel the hard planes of his chest through her soaked clothes. ‘God, why does he have to be so damn muscular and warm...’ Anna thought to herself, trying not to react to his proximity and keeping a cool expression. “See? I can make you feel warm even in this rain,” he murmured, his voice low and husky. “Mark could not do that,” he added with a smirk. ‘No, Mark could not do...’ Anna thought. His lips brushed against Anna’s ear as he spoke, sending another shiver down her spine that had nothing to do with the cold. “But... But you do not even like me,” Anna says, confused. His behavior did not make sense. He had never acted this way before... Zack let out a short, humorless laugh, his breath warm against her skin. “Do not like you? Is that what you think?” Anna looks up at him, deep into his beautiful green eyes. ‘Has she been wrong somehow? No, it does not make any sense... You do not bully and humiliate someone for ten years if you like them, right?’ Zack’s grip tightened on her hip, pulling her even closer to him, until there was no space left between their bodies. Then Anna felt it, the hard ridge of his arousal pressed against her stomach. It takes all her power not to gasp. She had seen the outline before, but she never imagined...
“Hey, Anna,” Zack says softly, waiting for her to look up before continuing. “Thanks. For earlier. And for breakfast.” It is a rare moment of vulnerability for him, stripped of all the usual posturing and bravado. He does not linger on it, though– he opens the motel room door and steps out into the hallway, his voice returning to its casual confident tone. The sunlight hits him hard, making him squint for a second. “Earlier?” she asks as she rushes to join him. “What part?” Zack stops in the hallway, turning to face her with a half-smile that is more amused than anything else. He can see genuine confusion in her brown eyes, and it makes him want to laugh. “Everything,” he says simply, his voice dropping low. “The way you looked at me. The way you said my name. All of it.”Zack reaches out, his hand finding the small of Anna’s back and pulling her just a little closer as they head toward the stairs. “Don’t act like you do not know exactly what I am talking about, Anna,” he teases, his g
“If you are so worried about making a mess, maybe you should sit on the floor like a kid,” Anna joked before taking a bite of pancake herself. Zack nearly chokes on the pancake in his mouth, a startled laugh breaking through his throat. He points his fork at her, his dark green eyes sparkling with mick indignation. “Sit on the floor? Like a kid?” he repeats, shaking his head. “You are lucky you are cute, Anna, because that is low even for you.” He takes another bite, chewing slowly as he watches her eat. The morning light is getting stronger now, filling the room with a warm, golden glow that makes everything feel softer, more real. The tension from his dream has completely dissipated, replaced by this easy, domestic rhythm.“And for the record,” Zack adds, his voice dropping into that lazy, confident drawl again. “I do not act like a kid. I am a grown man. I deserve a seat.” He nudges Anna’s shoulder with his own, a gentle, affectionate gesture that says more than his words ever could
“What did you get us?” Zack asked hoping to distract her. “Pancakes. They did not have blueberry pancakes,” Anna said as she moved to place the white paper bag on the bedside table and then turning to him, cupping his cheek. He leans into her touch instinctively, his eyes closing as his palm rests against his cheek. The warmth of her hand is grounding, pulling him further away from the coldness of his dream and back into the reality of this room, this morning. “Blueberry or not, I am not complaining,” he murmurs, his voice low and sleepy. He reaches up, covering her hand with his own, pressing her palm more firmly against his face. He does not care about the pancakes right now. He just wants to stay in this moment, where the only thing that matters is the weight of her hand and the way she looks at him like he is something worth keeping.“You are too good to me, Anna,” Zack said, opening his green eyes to look at her. There is no sarcasm in it, no bravado. Just a quiet, honest admissio
A dream settles over Zack, quiet and suffocating, like frost creeping across the glass. He is small again and the world is too big, the house too hollow. Even the air feels wrong, as if something essential is missing. The warmth that once lived in the walls is gone, replaced by a thin, biting cold that seeps into his skin and stays there. He wakes in the darkness. For a moment, there is nothing– just the faint hum of the house, the distant creak of settling wood. Then he hears it. A noise downstairs. Soft. Irregular. Real. Hope ignites in him so fast it almost hurts. He is out of his car shaped bed before the thought can catch up to him, bare feet hitting the hardwood with small, quick slaps. He does not feel the cold floor. He does not feel anything except that fragile, desperate certainty blooming in his chest. It is her. It has to be. Mom? The word rises, but it never makes it out. it sticks somewhere deep, like even now he knows better than to say it out loud– because saying it mig
In the background the movie comes to an end and the song ‘Let it show! Let it snow! Let it snow!’ starts playing:Oh, the weather outside is frightful. But the fire, it’s so delightful. And since we’ve no place to go. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!“God,” Zack breathes out, the word barely a whisper. His voice is completely drained, stripped of all its usual edge. He does not pull away. Instead, he shifts slightly, rolling onto his side and pulling Anna with him so she is tucked against his chest. “That was…” she began and took a sharp breath. His chest is still rising and falling in heavy, uneven beats. He does not move, just lies there with his arm draped heavily over her waist, his fingers tracing idle, lazy patterns against her skin. The intensity of those last few minutes has left him physically drained, but his mind is still buzzing, still reeling from the sheer closeness of it. He turns his head slightly, his chin brushing against the top of her hair.Man, it doesn’t sho
Anna moaned as Zack rubbed against her from behind. The sound of her moan– soft, breathless, and entirely unguarded– hits him like a physical weight. His jaw tightens, his teeth grinding together as he fights the urge to lose that promised control. “You sound so good,” he rasps, his voice barely a whisper against her skin. “Do that again.” He does not rush. He keeps his movements slow and deliberate, just like he promised, but the rhythm is heavy, intentional. His hands stay anchored on her hips, guiding her, keeping her steady as he maintains that agonizingly slow friction. His other hand reaches around, fingers splaying across her stomach, pulling her back against him so there is no space left between them. He can feel every vibration of her moan through his own chest.“I have got you, just breathe. I am right here.” Zack murmurs, his lips grazing her shoulder blade. “Ah, God. Zack,” Anna moaned sweetly. “I want you inside me.” The way she says his name– not like a challenge, not lik
Zack Riley was a boy who knew tragedy very well. He lost his mother when he was nine years old and his father worked long hours, mostly to avoid the loss of his wife. Zack recalls the conversation he and Anna had in their English class, when he compared her to a car: “Hell yes, Anna. You are the best fucking car I have ever seen. You are built for reliability. Like one of those classic American sedans– solid frame, engine that never gives out.
Back home, Zack unlocks the front door and kicks off his shoes without enthusiasm. The sun is barely beginning to lighten the sky through the living room curtains. He heads straight for his bedroom and collapses onto the unmade bed fully clothed. His phone lies charging on the nightstand, display
Zack’s lips curve into a predatory smile against Anna’s. “The clock is ticking, sweetheart, which means we need to hurry this up.” His hands become more urgent, exploring every inch of newly exposed skin with practiced ease. One hand slides down her back to cup her ass whi
