Dorian POV

For a few minutes, we sat there, just breathing the same air. I closed my eyes and tried to memorize the feel of her so I’d never forget again.

I pulled back slowly and looked into her eyes.

“Candice…” I whispered, my voice hoarse. “I shouldn’t have agreed to their terms. I should have fought harder. I was… Confused. But that’s no excuse. I let you down.”

She didn’t answer right away.

“I know,” she finally said. “But… I also know you didn’t have much choice.”

I swallowed hard and lowered my eyes.

“I still feel like I betrayed you,” I muttered.

“You did,” she said softly, but without anger. “But you came back. That’s what matters to me.”

Her voice was calm, but I could feel the pain under it. I took her hand, held it tightly.

“I promise,” I said slowly, “no one will come between us again. Not my stepmother. Not Alora. No one.”

She hesitated. Then, she looked up at me with this confused little frown. “Why did you block me?”

I blinked. “What?”

“You blocked my number,” she said

Dorian POVI could barely recognize her.Candice looked like someone who hadn’t smiled in days. Her face was pale. Her eyes were sunken. There were dark circles under them, and her lips were dry and cracked. The nanny pulled me aside and whispered, “She barely eats. She barely sleeps. Some nights, she screams in her sleep like she’s seeing something horrible.”I just stood there, frozen. My heart ached. It ached so bad, I had to grip the wall beside me.“Why… why didn’t anyone tell me it got this bad?” I muttered under my breath, but I already knew the answer. It was my fault. All of it.I walked toward her bedroom door slowly, my legs feeling heavier with every step.I stood there for a second, unsure how to even begin. My hand rested on the wooden door. My forehead pressed against it.“Candice,” I whispered. My voice trembled, breaking. “It’s me.”No answer.“Please… please open the door. Just… let me see you. Talk to me. Yell at me. Just… say something. Anything.”Silence.I close

Candice – POVI froze. My heart stopped beating for a moment. I just stared at him, my hands slowly sliding off his chest. My mouth went dry, and I couldn’t feel my legs anymore. It was like something heavy just crushed me from the inside out.He said yes.He really agreed to marry Alora.I blinked hard. Once. Twice. Then I took a shaky step back.“Candice, please—” Dorian reached for me again.“No,” I whispered, shaking my head. “Don’t touch me.”“Candice—”“I said don’t touch me!” I snapped, louder this time, slapping his hand away. My body was trembling, and I didn’t even realize it until I almost stumbled backward. He looked shocked.I wrapped my arms around myself, trying to keep what was left of me from falling apart. So this was it.All those nights I cried myself to sleep, hoping he’d come… All those moments I prayed he was looking for me. That he missed me. That I wasn’t crazy for believing he still cared. And now he stood right in front of me, telling me he was going to marry

  • The Accidental Surrogate's Secret   Chapter 63- Is It True?

Candice POVI didn’t know when I fell asleep again. These days, sleep just comes and goes. Sometimes I lie in bed for hours, staring at the ceiling, waiting for the tears to stop. Other times, I just cry myself to sleep before I even realize it.Tonight wasn’t any different.I had gone to bed after crying again. I tried not to cry, really. But it’s hard when the person you love disappears without a word. It’s even harder when you keep hoping they’ll come back—and every day they don’t, it breaks something else inside you.I curled up in bed, holding a pillow close to my chest like it could somehow comfort me.I missed him.I thought about his voice, his stupid smirk, the way he always looked annoyed at first but always softened when I looked at him long enough. I thought about the way he’d place a hand on my lower back protectively, or the way his eyes lit up when he looked at the ultrasound picture. He was the first person who made me feel seen… and now, he was gone.“Maybe he doesn’

Dorian’s POVAlora’s face was red from crying. Her lips trembled. She suddenly threw the sheets off her legs and tried to get up, but the moment she moved, she gasped in pain and fell back onto the bed.“Alora, stop,” her mother said softly, rushing toward her.“Don’t touch me!” she yelled at her mom, pushing her hand away. She looked at me again, tears pouring down her face.“Dorian,” she whispered. “what did I do to deserve this? I have never hurt anyone. I have never done anything wrong—except loving the wrong person… Declan. I was young. I made a mistake. But I changed. I changed for you!”I didn’t say anything. My hands were in my pockets. My eyes locked on hers.“You don’t know how much I love you,” she went on. “I gave everything to you. My time, my energy, my loyalty. I was always there, waiting. I thought you would see it one day. I thought you would look at me and say, ‘She’s the one.’”She shook her head slowly.“But you… you never did. You chose her.”“And now? Look at m

Dorian’s POV“Please tell me you’ve gotten the location and find her.”“We found her,” he said.My breath hitched. “Where is she? Tell me now.”“She’s being kept in a private estate on the west side of the city. Near the old vineyard area. I’m about to send you the pin—”Before he could finish, I heard loud footsteps. The front door burst open.I turned around, already on edge, and saw her—the woman I never wanted to see again. My stepmother. And behind her, a group of men. Big. Uniformed. Armed like private security. My grip tightened on the phone.“You really have no limits, do you?” I snapped. “You break into my home now?”She smiled like it was nothing. “Oh, I came to take my son to his bride. You’re getting married, remember?”I stepped forward. “If you’re finally here to tell me where Candice is, then go ahead. Otherwise, get the hell out of my house.”She ignored me completely and turned to the bodyguards.“Take him,” she said coldly. “We don’t have time to waste. Alora is awak
