When I stepped out of the bathroom, I found some clothes laid out on the bed and my eyes widened.

Blaine was fully dressed now in beautiful black dress pants and a white shirt.

When he stood up and turned around, I felt a blush staining my cheeks.

“Is this good enough for the chairwoman,” he asked, spreading his hand towards the bed.

I smiled and walked close to the bed to stare down at the clothes.

“How did you get these?” I asked, looking at them. Not only were they in the perfect size, they were also my style. “And why does this look like we are going out?” I looked up at him now.

“First, I have your P. A, Summer?” He cocked his head and I nodded. He nodded too and that got me smiling, “Summer, get it.”

“Next, I had a guard here go pick them from her. “And yes, we are going out.”

He must have seen the look in my eyes because he was quickly standing before me and holding my shoulders.

“You cannot let last night’s trauma rule you. If you could trust your father to keep Oliver safe while you went ghetto on Ophelia, trust him enough to keep him safe. We won’t be out for long.”

I stared at him as he spoke and then sighed.

Blaine could be very convincing with words, he was like my father in that.

They stated their case so clearly you could immediately see your foolishness if you decided to do otherwise.

“Can you do that?” he asked, staring into my eyes now.

I nodded, “You have a way with words.”

He laughed, “I don’t think so, but I hope you keep having that impression.”

He watched me get ready and when I asked his opinion on the best dress to where to wherever he was taking me to, he pointed to a very chic flare kimono cardigan, with a turtle-neck black dress.

I paired the outfit with ink blue pumps, and we were ready to leave.

I finally walked into the nursery, but quickly put my hand over my mouth and walked more quietly, because the babies were down for their afternoon nap.

I walked close to my son who was sleeping so soundly, his lips partly open as usual. And as I stared down at him, a tear escaped my eye.

I leaned down and caressed his hair.

All the dye was gone, and it was shiny gold again. I caressed his loose curls gently and finally straightened up.

I glanced at his sister now, smiling sadly, but I did not touch her.

I turned around and met Blaine outside the nursery. “Where are we going?” I asked, because Blaine was leading me towards the back of the house, instead of to the car out front.

“You’ll see,” he smiled down at me, squeezing my hand tighter in his.

We walked past all the thick trees and then began to walk down a rocky trail in the woods when he suddenly picked me up into his hands.

“I can’t have you tripping here,” he said, and I shook my head and looked away with a smile.

He finally put me down again when we got to a clearing. A chopper was waiting for us.

“The hell?” I giggled in nervous excitement as I turned to look at him.

He smiled and led me towards the chopper as the rotary blades picked up. He helped me in, making sure I was belted and strapped in tight before he sat down to do the same.

I stared down into his house as the aircraft took flight into the air. I could clearly see through the glass ceiling into his lounge, but soon the house became smaller and smaller till we were out of sight.

Many minutes later, I noticed the bright green helipad and pointed to it. “There?”

Blaine nodded smiling, and soon the pilot settled the chopper on the helipad.

I was already helping myself out of my seat, when Blaine gently brushed my hand off, undid all the straps and helped me out.

“I know you like private,” he said as the elevator door closed behind us, placing his hand on the walls of the elevator above my head, and tilting my chin up to look at him. “I hope this private is enough.”

“Did you have somewhere else in mind?” I asked, giggling.

“The Eiffel Tower. I had passports ready and all. We would have gone with the babies.”

“What?” I asked, as the elevator dinged. “You were planning a trip with me without my knowledge.”

The elevator door opened, and this time my gasp was even louder as I stepped back.

Blaine smiled brightly beside me and pressed his finger on a button, so the elevator did not close.

I just stood staring.

The floor we were standing on was open, a vast space, but there were pink and red roses covering every inch, and heart-shaped balloons hanging from the ceiling and shaking in the wind.

“Eiffel Tower what?” I said, as I finally regained composure and stepped out.

Blaine was chuckling behind me.

I walked into the hall with white walls and reflective marble tiles, going towards the edge as my hand caressed the balloons hanging from the ceiling on my way.

I stopped and inhaled when I got to the edge with glass walls that got to my chest. We were so high up. So, so high up.

“This is breathtaking,” I said, looking out.

“I have a better view,” he said, and I turned to see he was staring at me.

I blushed and turned away, walking towards the table that was sitting in the middle with two chairs.

“Ariel,” He said, and I stopped immediately, squinting at the way he called my name.

When I turned back, he finally began walking towards me.

“I got it all wrong,” he said, finally stopping before me.

“What?” I asked, and my heart began to beat faster as I got the impression that this man was about to leave again.

Maybe he would say it was a mistake, or that he could not turn his back on Ophelia, but I just knew that he was about to leave again.

“That day I kissed you back at the house.” He smiled shyly now, “After that slap, I knew I had it all wrong.” He took my hand.

I could only just stand and stare at him now.

“Words really do not cut it for you. Words must mean nothing to you now,” he said, descending on one knee, “So let me show you.”

“What are you doing, Blaine?”

“I love you, Ariel,” and I saw a tear slip out of his eye, “And you’ll get more action from me than words from now on. I have hired a detective that will get you Ophelia’s confession in three days.”

“What?” I gasped, leaning down.

“A personal bodyguard to make sure no one can ever harm you or Oliver again,” he said, gently squeezing my hand as he looked up at me, and tears began to sting my eyes at this.

“I even put a tracker on Ophelia and I doubt there is a purse she owns that does not have a spy gadget attached to it right now.”

I giggled at the absurdity through my tears, and he smiled. “We will stack up all the evidence against her, and whenever you are ready, I will stand beside you in court and witness against her.”

“Blaine.” my voice came out in a tremble, and I reached out to caress his face.

He finally stood up now, and he began to lead me towards the edge again, picking something up that I finally realized were binoculars.

He pushed them gently into my hand and pointed out. I fitted the binoculars over my eyes and turned to the direction he was pointing in.

At first, I saw red roses and more roses, and when I zoomed in I realized people were holding it.

No, not people, children.

They could not be older than first-graders, and they were grinning towards this building.

I frowned.

Why would Blaine have children hold up bouquets of roses from that distance if they were meant for me? Did he plan to fly them up here to come hand them over to me?

Now that would be just too much.

“I think you zoomed too far in.” Blaine giggled awkwardly beside me.

“What?” I zoomed out with the lense, and gasped, almost throwing the binoculars down.

The children and their roses spelled out WILL YOU BE MY WIFE

When I turned around, Blaine was on his knee behind me again. A ring box opened and stretched out to me.

“You are not my mistress, you were never my mistress.” He said, his eyes shining with tears, “Marry me?”

  • The Affair Baby    Epilogue

Ophelia died. But contrary to what everyone would have guessed, and what I dearly wish, I did not kill her.I felt robbed when I walked into her body on the floor of one of the Kotei’s living rooms, because she should have died by my hands. It was the very next day after Kan's death, when, reportedly, the National leader’s guards caught her and dragged her HOME TO DADDY. No one would ever know what the man did to her, but her body was bruised all over with tiny cuts dotting her skin. She lay there on the floor, her face drawn, and I could only stare at her. I had been determined to chase her to hell if I must, and that is why I had dared come into the Kotei, but her father was quicker. But like I promised her during her lifetime, death would not set her free. Someone had to pay for what she did to me.I exposed her father as soon as his term was over, and stood at the top stairs of the courthouse as I watched the police drag him off to jail after the biggest court case the count

  • The Affair Baby    A trap

I had the file I had come for in my hand and nothing else, as I stepped down the porch when I heard a car speeding fast towards me.Cherry was quickly standing in front of me, and shielding me behind with her body.I hoped that was not Kan, because I did not want to talk to him right now. After all my father had told me about him, I now saw him in a new light. But when the single car stopped, and the driver’s door opened, it was a woman who stepped out.“Don't come any closer.” Cherry barked at her into the night. “Akira,” I gasped at the same time, and placed a gentle hand on Cherry's shoulder as Akira began to run towards me in a funny-looking, ungainly way. “Chairwoman.” Akira said in a choking gasp.Even in the darkness of that night, I could see how her eyes looked like she had a fever. The desperation in her eyes to get to me scared me a little.“Help me.” her voice came out in a whisper now, as she got to me, swooned, and I had to catch her quickly. But even with Cherry's

  • The Affair Baby    Pain

Blaine was still staring out that window when Ariel walked out of that room, thinking about everything she had told him, unable to look her in the face.Aoi, Aoi, Mün’s wife had set Ruby up all those years. Or perhaps it was her parents, but she was aware. She had to be aware that her parents were paying a man to take Ruby away from him so that they could get married without any problems as soon as they turned twenty. He brought his hand up to his face, thinking about Ruby, how she must have hated him the whole time, and came to hold him in contempt. It took him sometime to finally get out of that room, and when he did, he could not find Ariel anywhere. He ran into Mr Grigor, who was holding his grandson. “Did Ariel tell you where she was going to?”“She had to pick up something at the Sullivan mansion.” “What?” His eyes widened in disbelief. “And you let her go? What is so special about her clothes to go back there for?”How could this man of all people allow such a silly mistake?

  • The Affair Baby    A letter

Ophelia hurried out of the car without even looking at Draco, desperately hoping this was the last time she saw him. If he would not help her, he was useless to her and had better stay away. She hurried to the mailbox of her unit and found the brown manila envelope. When she opened it, she saw a black gift box in it. She smiled and hurried upstairs with it.Now that she had this in hand, she momentarily forgot all her problems, overjoyed at what she was about to do to Ariel. She opened the door and the first person she ran into was Akira. She smiled. Was fate not just absolutely wonderful? Her mind strayed to Olivia, but she decided to check on her after this, and take her when she was ready to leave. Akira turned to her and bowed quickly, and Ophelia could see a small fear in her eyes.“Are you familiar with hide-and-seek?” Ophelia grinned at her.“Ma’am?” Akira leaned forward, squinting in confusion. Ophelia grinned wider and brought her hands up to her face, then she moved t

  • The Affair Baby    My home

Ophelia was still technically nursing her wounds, the one that bitch had given her, the one she had sworn to repay as soon as she was in a place where she had the upper hand, when the news broke out.She was in the seating area of her office and laying back straight on her couch when her P.A. ran in.“What is it Roxy,” She said without looking up? “Don’t tell me the bitch is back.”“Madaam.” Roxy exclaimed like she had just seen something horrible, like she had perhaps walked in and found a snake curled in the corner of the room, poised to attack her, and Ophelia flew off her seat, eyes wide and looking around in fear.“What? What is it, Roxy?” She yelled in fright. Had that bitch brought a snake with her and left it here? She would not put it past the bitch. She would not put it past the person that had come to wait for her in a dark office, almost giving her a freaking heart attack. “The news,” Roxy whispered, her eyes still wide, and she was stretching out her computer tablet. • The Affair Baby    Another betrayal

We were back at his house, and as we walked upstairs towards the nursery, I saw my father waiting by the door.“Dad.” I gave a quick bow and looked up with a squint, a little surprised. He smiled and walked up to hug me tightly. When he stepped back, his eyes were shiny. I noticed him and Blaine exchange a look and Blaine kissed my temple, tapped my shoulder and disappeared into the nursery. I could not help frowning. “Is everything OK?”“I have to talk to you. It’s important.”“Sure,” I said quickly, although my heart was already beating. What did he have to tell me? Was it about Kan? My eyes scanned our surroundings, thinking about where we could talk uninterrupted. I could definitely not take him anywhere on the top floor, because I still had some shame. The study then?“Can we go to the living room?” I asked, thinking about how that place was the place I still found coziest in the house. We got to the living room and I could hear the sound of the water trickling down from that
