Chapter 3

At the doorway, the Alpha’s tall figure stood there.

The wolf guards who had been watching the show froze in place, eyes fixed nervously.

Silver-gray wolf eyes landed coldly on the collar in Rowan Black’s hand.

“Give it back to her.”

The entire dorm went dead silent.

Rowan Black stiffened.

“Alpha, she’s just an Omega...”

Only then did the man finally look at her directly.

“Do I need to say it a second time?”

Rowan froze.

She did not dare move another inch.

Without another word, she lowered her head and handed the collar back.

The moment I took it, the man’s breathing noticeably deepened for a second.

The floating comments exploded again.

【The entire pack is starting to question who the little wolf really is!】

【Rhys, at this point who WOULDN’T realize the little wolf is special to you?!】

The man looked at me.

After several silent seconds, he spoke in a low voice.

“Don’t take it off.”

“And don’t let it leave your body.”

I obediently nodded.

“…Okay.”

That night, after showering, I lay down on my bed.

I had changed out of my wolf guard uniform and into a thin night robe.

Beneath the fabric, the wolf fang stayed pressed against my skin.

Cold.

Impossible to ignore.

The floating comments appeared again.

【…Oh no. The Alpha is not surviving this.】

【She’s actually sleeping with it against her skin.】

【The Alpha is not sleeping tonight.】

Slowly, the wolf fang over my chest grew warm from my body heat.

Early the next morning, I went out for a run.

As I passed the main building, I spotted a few servants pushing laundry carts outside.

They were piled high with bedsheets.

I casually asked, “Morning. Doing laundry this early?”

One of the servants sighed.

“The Alpha spilled water last night. The entire bed got soaked.”

A row of floating comments instantly swept across my vision.

【HAHAHAHAHAHA】

【You sure that was just WATER?】

My footsteps paused.

…Wait.

Does this have something to do with me?

I lowered my eyes to the wolf fang hanging against my chest.

No way, right?

My phone suddenly vibrated.

I glanced down at the screen and instantly straightened up before answering.

“Yes, Alpha!”

On the other end, the man’s voice was cold and low.

“Clara Reed.”

“You’re assigned to night watch at the mountain springs tonight.”

The moonlight was cold.

Mist drifted through the mountain springs.

With a loud splash, a tall figure sank straight into the water.

The other two wolf guards and I stood watch around the outer edge of the springs.

The floating comments had already gone insane.

【The Alpha’s body is unreal.】

【Chest, abs, wolf markings… and the important part is barely hidden by the moonlight.】

【Guess why he’s soaking in the springs tonight.】

Either way, he clearly would not need me for a while.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small bottle.

It was the care oil I had gone out to buy earlier today.

The wolf fang looked expensive.

If I took good care of it, maybe I could pass my internship sooner.

Lowering my head, I poured a little oil onto my fingertips.

Then slowly rubbed it onto the wolf fang.

The fang gleamed under the moonlight.

The floating comments exploded instantly.

【Everybody shut up. I only have one thing to say.】

【The little wolf is way too good at this.】

【The Alpha almost slipped in the water just now!】

【How does she STILL not know what she’s doing to him?!】

I lowered my head and carefully kept applying the oil.

From the base of the fang to the sharp tip, I carefully spread the oil over every inch.

Behind me, the sound of water suddenly grew much louder than before.

【…Can he seriously still hold himself back?】

【What do you think happens first? He drags her into the water, or he comes out to get her himself?】

The next second,

a tall shadow suddenly stopped in front of me.

I looked up.

The man had only a towel wrapped around his waist, his wet hair still dripping.

Droplets of water rolled slowly down his chest.

His silver-gray wolf eyes were fixed on the wolf fang in my hand.

“What are you doing?”

…Did I mess up again?

“Didn’t you say it was precious...?”

“I just wanted to take good care of it.”

The man closed his eyes.

His throat bobbed heavily once.

“That’s not how you take care of it.”

I immediately stopped.

“Understood! I won’t do it like this again!”

But he still did not open his eyes.

His voice had gone low and rough.

“I didn’t say you couldn’t take care of it.”

“Just not like this.”

Me: “?”

I secretly glanced to the side.

The other two wolf guards had their heads lowered.

One looked quieter than the other.

Neither of them had any intention of helping me.

In the end, I could only silently put the collar back on.

Tonight, I was not wearing an undershirt.

The moment the wolf fang touched my skin, the surface of the spring water suddenly rippled violently.

The floating comments completely lost it.

【It touched her skin... Oh, Rhys is finished.】

【This time they're face to face.】

【Tonight, Rhys won’t rest. Neither will the little wolf.】

Before I could react, my wrist was suddenly seized.

The next second, my entire body lifted off the ground.

By the time I realized what was happening, I had already been thrown straight into the warm spring water.
