The next day, my alarm wakes me up but I remain glued on my bed. Throughout last night, I couldn’t sleep, so consequentially, I spent the entire night drowning in thoughts of what to really do about my pregnancy.

I am pregnant. I am really pregnant with Liam’s child.

The whole situation still feels like a dream. My hand rests on my belly and I keep wondering how I am going to carry this precious life inside me until birth.

Can I do this? Can I really protect this baby—

I turn my head at the sound of Ria’s voice. She is awake and she stirs on her bed before she sits up, her honey-colored hair falling past her shoulders.

“Good morning,” I mumble to her.

“Good morning. Did you sleep at all?” she asks quietly, probably trying not to wake Suzy.

“No.” I answer honestly.

“Why?” She asks and slides out of her bed, padding over to sit beside me. “What’s wrong? And don’t try to chicken out now. You’ve been acting weird since yesterday evening.”
